I looked at Cody's retreating figure feeling not a little hurt. I turned away from him, he's my best friend but he needs space, which is what I kept telling myself. "So he's gone", I heard Anais saying before I turning to her, "This is getting dangerous we should think of protecting ourselves". Since when did she become the smart one, "So what do you suppose we should do about it", I asked her. "I think we should try not to talk about this in public", Chloe suggested, "Because out here anyone can be anything". "I suppose you're right", Sebastian agreed. "Ofcourse I'm right", she said. Roxane just rolled her eyes. "Let's get to class", Roxane said, "After all that happened we're still in school". We all murmured our agreement. I looked at the class Cody had entered but he wasn't there.

After school I walked home trying not to think about what happened to us that day. We'd been chosen and attacked all in one day. I greeted my mom and went up to my room. I collapsed on my bed, what the hell did I get myself into. I wonder what my element is gonna be since that's clearly what their based on. "You don't have to wait long for that", I heard a voice I knew who it was I'd never physically heard it before, "Are you surprised that I came to you". "Um I.. I don't know", I managed to stutter, "I mean, What do you want". She laughed, "I want nothing but you must prepare yourself I should have known that Melody was near". "Ha a goddess messed up again", I said immediately regretting it. A flash of anger appeared on her face but she quickly suppressed it, "I will ignore that because I need your help". "But I came to warn you that you might be attacked next", she continued, "Melody noticed that you and Cody are close friends". "You better warn the others as well", she said, "Especially Roxanne". Then she dissapeared. What did she mean and why Roxanne. If only I could read her mind like she could read mine. I settled down for the night, what's going on what does she know that we don't know.
