"Dino, there will be a carnival next week in the city. We're going, right?" May asked Dino as they walked around the lake, hand in hand.

"Mmm... I don't know. If I have time, we can go," Dino said, looking at May.

"Come on, Dino," May said, feeling disappointed.

"You can go with your friends," Dino replied, and May's heart filled with sadness.

"I was joking," Dino said, laughing when he saw May's sad face.

"Why do you always make rude jokes, Dino? You're so rude," May complained.

"Come on, it was just a joke," Dino said, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her closer. May smiled.

"Dino, is your mom divorced?" May asked suddenly.

"Well, nope. My parents were never married," Dino said. "Why?"

"Well, were you with your mom before you lived with your dad?" May asked. She had been wondering since the rugby match.

"No. I actually don't know who my mom is. I was adopted by a crazy couple called the Johnsons. Then my papa found me and rescued me from there," Dino said.

"What? When?" May asked in surprise.

"It's been almost a year now," Dino said, and May was shocked.

"Why did you say he rescued you?" May asked curiously.

"Because the Johnsons treated me badly," Dino said, looking down. His voice changed with pain.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Dino. Did I hurt your feelings?" May asked, hugging Dino's hand.

"No, you didn't. In fact, you need to know about it. You are my girlfriend now," Dino said, looking at May.

"Yes, that's true," May replied.

As May remembered the Johnsons, Dino looked around, recalling how they tried to kidnap him a few months ago. He didn't want that to happen in front of May. He didn't want them to hurt her. May was a girl. Of course, she would fight if the Johnsons tried to do something stupid, but he didn't want her to face such a situation. He didn't want Emily's and Robert's dirty hands on May. He didn't even want them to see her. What if they tried to hurt her to get revenge on him?

"Why don't we go get some fruit juice?" Dino suggested, spotting his favorite juice shop.

"Okay, let's go. I'll buy the juice today," May said.

"And why is that?" Dino asked curiously.

"You always buy me things. I haven't bought you anything," May explained.

"That's fine. My papa has enough money," Dino said grimly. May burst into laughter, remembering how they both spent their parents' money like it was their own. It was a good thing they had rich parents so they could buy whatever they wanted.

"Anyway, let me buy you juice," May said as they stepped into the shop.

"No, ma'am. That is never going to happen," Dino replied. He didn't look like he was joking.

"Come on..." May tried to say.

"Shh... be quiet," Dino whispered. May was shocked and looked around.

"What?" she asked quietly, her heart starting to beat a bit faster, not knowing what was happening.

"Take a seat," Dino said softly.

"Dino, what's going on? You're making me scared," May said, filled with fear.

"Just take a seat," Dino said, pulling out a chair. May sat down, looking at Dino.

"Now stay there. I'll bring the juice," Dino said in a normal tone and walked to the cashier to order juice.

"Dino," May said angrily. Dino looked back at her, smiling like he had won.

"You cheated," May mimicked.

Carnival day came, and Dino was excited to go. He had never been to a carnival before. Kacper said he would come with Natisha and May. Lis and Enya would also join them.

When Dino arrived at the place where the carnival was held, there were already people there. It was crowded. "Shit, so many people," Dino thought.

He called Kacper to find out where they were.

"We just arrived, Dino. Come near the entrance," Kacper said. Dino went to the entrance, where there was a long line to get tickets.

"Dino," May waved her hand, and he went over. May was wearing a white t-shirt and light blue denim. The four girls didn't wear matching clothes like before, and Dino and Kacper were happy about it. But they didn't mention it to the girls.

"It's really crowded here," Dino said, looking around.

"Don't worry. This is going to be fun," May replied, looking excited. "I used to go to the carnival with my dad, sometimes with my mom. It was really fun," May said.

"You've never been to a carnival before, Dino?" Enya asked.

"Nope. I was busy with studies," Dino said.

"Oh, you were a nerd?" Lis teased.

"Yes," Dino replied, and the girls looked at him in disbelief.

"That can't be true. You don't look like a nerd," Enya said.

"What do you mean?" Dino asked.

"You play rugby," Lis pointed out.

"It's to make my grandpa happy. I didn't want to play rugby," Dino explained.

"But you did great in the match," Kacper added.

As they waited in line near the gate, they talked about various things. Dino saw some of their schoolmates at the carnival. Finally, they got their tickets and went inside.

"Finally," Natisha said.

"So, what are we going to do first?" Dino asked May.

"How about the Ferris wheel?" May asked. Kacper looked at Dino helplessly.

"I'm scared of heights," Kacper admitted.

"Well, you need to face your fears, Kacper. Let's go," May said, grabbing Dino's hand and pulling him toward the Ferris wheel.

"Don't worry, baby. I'll be with you," Natisha said to Kacper.

"You're not scared of heights?" Kacper asked hopefully.

"Well, I'm also scared of heights," Natisha said, smiling helplessly.

"Wow, we are a matching couple. We're scared of the same things," Kacper joked, a mix of pain in his voice.

"Come on, guys," May urged Kacper and Natisha.

"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, Dino. I hate this!" Kacper started to scream, hugging Natisha at the top of the Ferris wheel. Natisha and Kacper held each other tightly, and Natisha closed her eyes tight.

"Close your eyes until we go down," Natisha said, but Kacper didn't listen.

"I will never ride this again. I will never do it for my whole life," Kacper said, breathing heavily. Finally, they came down.

"It was fun, right?" May said excitedly. Dino also looked thrilled.

"Kacper, are you okay, buddy? You look sick," Dino asked.

"I hate Ferris wheels. Don't ask me to go on one again. I hate it," Kacper replied.

"Okay then, let's go on the roller coaster. It's not that scary," May suggested. Natisha and Kacper exchanged looks, then glanced at May.

"I think we're good," Natisha said.

"Come on, guys," Lis urged.

"It's okay. Give them some rest. Look at them. They look like they're about to puke," Enya said.

"You guys go. We'll stay here until you come back," Natisha said.

Except for Natisha and Kacper, the others went to ride the roller coaster. Dino enjoyed the roller coaster too. It didn't feel that scary to him.

"It was fun!" Dino said, laughing after getting off.

"I told you," May replied.

"May, let's eat some cotton candy," Lis suggested.

"Okay, let's go. We can play some fun games too," May said, taking Dino's hand. Kacper and Natisha also joined them.

"Is that... is that Rosi and Lola?" Kacper asked, pointing to two women eating cotton candy. Both of them wore cat-eye sunglasses, hats, denim shorts, and crop tops. They looked like two models—gorgeous.

"They are everywhere we go, like spies," May said, watching them.

"They are cool," Kacper said.

"I like them, especially Rosi," Dino added.

"Hey, Rosi!" Dino called, waving his hand. Rosi looked around to see who had talked to her. When she saw Dino, a big smile came to her face.

"Hey, Dino! Oh, Kacper is here too. You all came to the carnival!" Both ladies approached them happily.

"Yeah," Kacper said, smiling.

"Hey, May and Natisha!" Rosi greeted the two girls.

May and Natisha returned the greeting. They had seen Rosi and Lola once or twice, so they knew them.

"So, who are these single ladies?" Lola asked, looking at Lis and Enya.

"They are our friends," May explained.

"So, what are you guys going to do? Have you played any fun games yet?" Lola asked.

"We are going to. Do you want to join us?" Natisha asked.

"Of course. Why not?" Rosi replied. The main reason for her to come here was Dino. She guessed he might be here, and Lola was helping her. She hadn't meant to join them, but since Dino talked to them, she decided to take the opportunity.

"Let's go to the shooting gallery then. I'm a good shooter," Lola said, and everyone headed there.

"Okay, kids, these aunts are going to defeat you all," Rosi joked. Lola wasn't happy about being called an aunt, but she understood why Rosi said that. Suddenly, Rosi wanted to be a mom. She no longer wanted to be a single, independent woman. But Lola was her best friend, and she was ready to support her. In fact, Rosi wasn't doing anything wrong.

The kids were excited for the challenge, and they all took their turns. As Lola claimed, she won a stuffed animal, while Kacper won a small prize. But everyone had a great time.

"Okay, kids, now I challenge you to a ring toss. Let's see who wins this time," Lola said joyfully.

"Okay, let's go!" the kids replied excitedly.

The ring toss was harder than Dino expected. The rings were so tricky and didn't land where he wanted. He even lost his confidence.

Finally, that challenge was also won by the "aunts."

"You guys win everything," Enya said with a smile.

"Let's go and eat some hot dogs. I'll buy you all hot dogs," Rosi announced, and everyone headed to get hot dogs.

Everyone was having fun at the carnival, and they didn't notice how quickly time was flying by.
