Basil and Harry carefully landed on the ground and got off their brooms. They held their brooms, and all the first-years immediately surrounded them, causing the brothers to feel overwhelmed.
Draco noticed Basil looking uncomfortable and turned his gaze to Blaise, Theodore, Daphne, and Cordelia.
"We need to help Basil out," Draco firmly spoke, causing the others to nod.
"Okay, everyone!" Blaise shouted, causing him and Theodore to pull out their wands. "I suggest you all step away from Basil if you don't want to experience your legs getting locked!" he threatened.
"It's very uncomfortable," Theodore warned, looking at everyone with a crazed stare.
All the first-years parted ways like the Red Sea, causing Draco to walk with Daphne and Cordelia, who pulled out their wands and followed him. The two witches stopped walking and stood in the middle of the first-years, eyeing them cautiously.
"Basil! Are you alright?" Draco asked, looking concerned while approaching Basil and Harry.
Basil turned his gaze to Draco and smiled, relieved to see his friend. "I'm fine," Basil reassured.
"Thanks for keeping everyone at bay." He looked at their friends, keeping the first-years away from him and Harry.
"Harry! Mate! That was an amazing catch!" Ron shouted, approaching Harry, causing the other wizard to stare at him.
Harry opened his mouth to let Ron know it was all Basil, but he stopped when he heard Professor McGonagall's voice.
"Basil and Harry Potter!" Professor McGonagall spoke, causing Blaise, Theodore, Daphne, and Cordelia to put their wands away swiftly.
"You two are so getting busted," Cormac snickered, causing Blaise and Theodore to glare at him.
Draco and Ron looked at Basil and Harry worriedly when they saw Professor McGonagall approach them.
"Professor McGonagall! Cormac started it all!" Ron shouted, wanting to defend Harry so his friend wouldn't get in trouble.
"All Basil wanted to do was retrieve Neville's Remembrall," Draco spoke, wanting to defend Basil so his dear friend wouldn't get in trouble for something Cormac had started.
Professor McGonagall turned her gaze to Cormac. She saw the first-year Gryffindor growing pale. "Ten points from Gryffindor for taking something that doesn't belong to you," she calmly spoke.
All the first-year Gryffindors groaned when they heard Professor McGonagall take ten points from their house. Others started to glare at Cormac for making them lose points.
Harry and Ron looked uncomfortable when they saw all their housemates' dirty looks directed at Cormac. The two wizards looked at each other and silently decided it was best not to take away more house points.
"Basil. Harry. Please, follow me." Professor McGonagall turned around and saw her colleague, Madam Hooch, entering the field.
"Professor McGonagall?" Madam Hooch raised an eyebrow.
"Madam Hooch, I am taking Basil and Harry with me. Can they be excused?" Professor McGonagall asked.
"Of course." Madam Hooch nodded.
"Good. Let's go, you two." Professor McGonagall motioned for Basil and Harry to follow her to the castle, which they did.
Basil began to walk with Harry and Professor McGonagall to the castle. He turned his head back and watched Draco and their friends look at him worriedly.
"Talk to you later," Basil mouthed to Draco, causing the other wizard to nod.
"I am surprised Professor McGonagall hasn't taken any house points from us yet," Harry murmured.
Basil turned his gaze to Harry. "Do you think she saw us flying without adult supervision?" he asked softly, looking worried.
"I am taking you two to Wood and Flint," Professor McGonagall spoke.
Harry looked at Basil with a knowing stare. "Obviously, if she is mentioning a Wood and Flint, it must be the names of her two wood paddles," he grimaced.
"I doubt Professor McGonagall would hurt us with wood paddles," Basil paled, looking scared. "Hermione would bloody kill me if she heard what transpired." He lightly bit his lip.
Basil could already imagine Hermione looking at him with fire in her chocolate brown eyes and telling him, "I told you that Flying Class is dangerous! And what did you do? Fly without adult supervision? You could have gotten expelled!" he could hear Hermione screeching once she learned what happened to him in Flying Class.
A knock on the door grabbed Basil's attention, and he stopped walking. He looked forward and saw that they were outside the Charms classroom.
"Professor Flitwick, may I borrow Wood and Flint, please?" Professor McGonagall asked.
"Brace yourself," Harry closed his bright green eyes and mumbled.
Basil nervously heard footsteps walking towards the door. His bright green eyes blinked when he saw a familiar face step out of the Charms classroom.
"Marcus?" Basil called out, causing Harry to open his bright green eyes, and he blinked when he saw a familiar face standing beside Marcus.
"Oliver?" Harry called out, looking confused.
Marcus's grey eyes blinked when he saw Basil. "Bas?" He raised an eyebrow, looking confused to see the first-year Slytherin.
Oliver's brown eyes blinked when he saw Harry. "What's going on, Professor McGonagall?" he asked, looking confused and worried.
"Good. You two already know the boys." Professor McGonagall looked relieved.
Even though Marcus and Oliver were rivals in Quidditch, the two wizards looked at each other in confusion.
"Flint," Professor McGonagall spoke, causing Marcus to look at her. "I want you to meet your newest Slytherin Chaser, Basil Potter," she said, looking at Basil and smiling at him.
Marcus's grey eyes widened, and he looked at Basil in awe and disbelief. "Really?" he exclaimed, wanting to ensure he wasn't dreaming.
"Yes. I need you and Adrian to start training Basil for the upcoming Quidditch tournament since the three of you will be Slytherin's Chasers," Professor McGonagall said.
"I thank Merlin and the Quidditch Gods for this moment," Marcus said dramatically, lifting his head to stare at the ceiling.
Oliver playfully rolled his chocolate brown eyes at Marcus.
"Oh! Does Professor Snape know?" Marcus asked while looking at Professor McGonagall.
"I will speak to him about Slytherin's newest Chaser," Professor McGonagall reassured.
"Can Adrian and I get excused from class so we can start helping Basil with his Quidditch Chaser training?" Marcus asked, looking at Professor McGonagall with a hopeful stare.
"Yes." Professor McGonagall nodded. She turned her gaze to the Charms classroom. "Professor Flitwick, can I get Adrian Pucey, Marcus Flint, and Oliver Wood excused from class?" she asked.
Professor Flitwick nodded, telling Adrian the homework assignment so he could tell Marcus and Oliver. Adrian grabbed his, Marcus's, and Oliver's school bags and left the classroom.
"Here. Professor Flitwick said we only have to study for our upcoming exam for the Banishing Spell," Adrian explained while giving Marcus and Oliver their school bags.
Marcus and Oliver nodded in response, taking their school bags. Adrian's blue eyes blinked when he saw Basil, Harry, and Professor McGonagall.
"What's going on?" Adrian asked.
"Mate! We finally have our third Chaser!" Marcus grinned.
"We do? Who?" Adrian looked at Marcus with a surprised expression.
Marcus motioned to Basil. "It's Bas. I knew the moment I looked at him that he was Chaser material," he grinned.
Basil blushed, getting flustered by the attention he was getting from Marcus.
"Sweet! Wait! The Quidditch tournament is coming up. We need to start training Bas," Adrian looked at Basil and Marcus.
"That's why we are getting excused from class. Professor McGonagall wants us to start training Basil for the upcoming Quidditch tournament," Marcus responded, looking excited.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go," Adrian smiled.
"Professor McGonagall, we are going to take Basil to the Quidditch Pitch," Marcus said to Professor McGonagall.
"Here. Take this with you if someone asks why you three are using the Quidditch Pitch." Professor McGonagall conjured a scroll with her writing on it.
Marcus took the scroll and nodded. He wrapped his arm around Basil's shoulders and began to walk with him and Adrian to the Quidditch Pitch.
Basil's bright green eyes blinked, and his expression was mixed. He didn't expect to be a Chaser in his first year, as he had heard only second years and up could try out for the Quidditch team.
Harry silently watched Basil leave. He was surprised that his older brother had become Slytherin's newest Quidditch Chaser. He looked away and stared at Professor McGonagall in worry.
"Am I in trouble, Professor McGonagall?" Harry asked, looking nervous.
"No," Professor McGonagall reassured. "Oliver, I want you to meet your newest Seeker," she introduced Harry to Oliver.
Oliver's chocolate brown eyes widened when he heard that the famous Harry Potter would be his newest Gryffindor Seeker. He grinned, excited to start training Harry for the upcoming Quidditch tournament.
Harry lightly bit his lip, looking nervous since he wasn't athletic like Basil. He felt scared that he would bring down the Gryffindor Quidditch team if he didn't train hard.
'I cannot let Oliver and Professor McGonagall down. They expect me to help the Gryffindor Quidditch team by being its Seeker. I must tell them I will train hard to have Gryffindor win the upcoming Quidditch tournament,' Harry thought.
"Professor McGonagall, Oliver, do not worry. I will train hard to ensure that Gryffindor wins the upcoming Quidditch tournament," Harry smiled, looking determined, causing Professor McGonagall and Oliver to smile.
