"Hey darling." I said, smiling into the phone when Jessie answered the phone. I called her right at midnight, just like I did every night. I looked forward talking with her until three AM. "I miss you. I can't wait for you to come back so that I can hold you and kiss you again."
"Yeah, about that..."
"What's wrong babe?" I asked, immediately panicking. "Are you okay?"
"I'm just fine Markie." She reassured.
"Oh." I said, smiling and breathing a sigh of relief. "So, what's going on?"
I heard her sigh loudly into the phone. I opened my mouth to say something but she spoke first.
"There's really no easy way to say this."
"Say what?"
"Mark, I..."
"Don't tell me that you have cancer or something." I said, my voice cracking as my hands were trembling. "God, please don't say that."
"I'm breaking up with you."
It took a minute for my mind to register just what she had said. But when it did, I felt the whole world crashing down on me.
"You're breaking up with me?" I asked, making sure that I had actually heard her correctly. "Why? What did I do wrong? Was I too clingy? Did I ignore you too much?"
"No Mark." Jessie said. "You didn't do anything wrong. Sometimes feelings just die."
"How could your feelings for me just disappear?" I asked, trying so hard not to cry. "I loved you so much Jessie. And
I still do to this very day and moment."
"I know you do Mark." She said. "I'm so sorry that I have to break your heart. Just know that you'll make someone happy one day."
"Jessie..."
"I have to go now." She said. "We can still be really good friends, right?"
"Yes. Friends." I said, forcing the painful word to come out. "That's just fine."
"Wonderful." She said. "Goodbye...friend."
She hung up after that. A moment later, my phone was on the ground and I was collapsed on my bed.
*****
Short steps, deep breath.
Everything is alright.
I didn't sleep. How could I? It felt like she had grabbed ahold of my heart, ripped it right out of my chest, and stomped it into a millions of tiny pieces. And the tears. Oh God, the tears. I've never cried so much in my entire life. I just felt so empty. I wanted to talk to someone about this but I couldn't. No one knew that Jessie and I were dating since we agreed to keep it personal. All I had was myself, a tub of ice cream, and Netflix. Totally cliché but I don't really give a fuck. I went out into the kitchen and grabbed the huge ass tub of mint chocolate chip ice cream that I had in my freezer and also grabbed the biggest spoon I could find. I went out into the living room and started looking for something to watch.
Chin up. I can't step into the spotlight.
She said, "I'm sad."
Somehow without any words.
"Fuck!" I said after ten minutes of browsing and ice cream eating. "I don't want any of this sappy bullshit! Damn it, why did the two of us have to watch so many Goddamn romance movies?"
I eventually settled on Death Note and I found that I was imagining that my heart was the one being written in the Death Note every single time.
I just stood there.
Searching for an answer.

I didn't post a video the next day. People went crazy on Facebook and Twitter asking why the video wasn't posted and I did the heartless thing and just ignored them. I understood perfectly well that they meant well, but I wasn't in the mood. And I ran out of mint chocolate chip ice cream so that made things even worse for me.
When this world is no more, the moon is all we'll see.
I'll ask you to fly away with me.
Relax everybody. Just because there's no Markiplier video doesn't mean that it's the end of the world.
I saw Sean's tweet and smiled. I was thankful that he was trying to calm everybody down because the notifications were getting extremely annoying. I came to the conclusion that I would upload a video today, but it wouldn't be a gaming video. It would be a vlog.
Until the stars all fall down, they empty from the sky.
But I don't mind.
If you're with me, then everything's alright.
"Hey guys." I said into the camera as I gave a small wave. "So, as you probably have figured out by now, my daily gaming video is late. And you guys on Facebook and Twitter have just been exploding my notifications with concern over why the video is late. While I appreciate you guys caring about me, you have to realize that I'm human. I'm not perfect nor will I ever be. With that being said, you're probably wondering if there is going to be a gaming video and a vlog today. And the answer to that question is no. This is the only video I will post today and the only video that I'll be posting for a couple of days. Now, before you freak out and type in the comments like a mad man, allow me to explain." I paused for a brief moment. "Doing a video a day has become overwhelming for me. Video games are supposed to be for entertainment and I'm starting to feel like they're a chore now. I wake up every single morning, pick out a game to play for you guys, record myself doing commentary and playing the game, and then I rewatch the video and edit it. Video games are supposed to be fun to play and I feel like by taking this break, I'll be able to truly enjoy video games again. I'm really sorry and I hope that you guys sorta understand where I'm coming from. With that being said, I will see you in the next video! Bye bye!"
Why do my words always lose their meaning?
What I feel, what I say.
There's such a rift between them.
I knew that everything that I said in that video was absolute bullshit even when I stopped recording. I knew it even more when it uploaded and I tweeted about there being a vlog explaining why I was late. I couldn't tell them about Jessie because that had to stay a secret. If they found out that she broke up with me, it could damage her YouTube career. And I couldn't allow that to happen to her, even though she broke my heart. I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to her because she was still a wonderful person, even though she was no longer my girlfriend.
*****
Your video was complete and utter bullshit.
Sean's tweet took me by surprise and
I had to read it twice to make sure that he really said what he said.
He said, "I can't really seem to read you."
I just stood there.
Never know what I should do.
I was about to reply when I saw that he was calling me. I nervously picked up the phone and answered it.
"Hey..." I said awkwardly. "I saw your tweet and..."
"What happened?"
"Nothing happened." I said, trying to avoid talking about the breakup. "I don't know why you think something happened?"
"Because it was so obvious in your video that you were lying." He said. "Now, come on Mark. Open up to me. I can keep a secret."
I sighed, knowing I wasn't going to get out of this.
"Well, I was kinda dating this girl for a while." I said. "And, well, she broke up with me last night."
"Oh Mark..." Sean said. "I'm so sorry. She has no idea what she just turned down."
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing." He said. "Nothing at all. Anyway, I won't tell a single person what you just told me."
"Thanks Sean." I said. "You're the best."
"I get told that quite a lot."
I just laughed and rolled my eyes.
"You know, I really like talking to you Mark."
"Really?" I asked. "Thanks."
"No problem." He said, letting out a slight giggle.
"I didn't know you could giggle and it be that cute." I said.
"Don't make me blush asshole."
When this world is no more, the moon is all we'll see.
I'll ask you to fly away with me.
Until all the stars all fall down.
They empty from the sky.
But I don't mind.
If you're with me, then everything's alright.
"Okay." I said, letting out a giggle myself. I felt a bit embarrassed, since I didn't think it was remotely cute at all.
"Ah ha!" Sean said like he had discovered something that would change the world forever. "The great Mark Fischbach can giggle!"
"Yeah, I can." I said, rolling my eyes even though he couldn't see me doing it. "But it's not cute."
"It's very cute." He said. "You're really cute."
"A bit flirty to the guy who just broke up with someone, aren't we?" I teased.
"I can't help myself." Sean said. "I've been trying to gather up the courage to flirt with you and now I'm finally doing it."
"I didn't know that it was your dream to flirt with me."
"Oh absolutely." He said. "I didn't want to ruin the great friendship that we had though so that's why I kept my mouth shut and my feelings closed off for the longest time."
"Wait, hold on." I said. "Let's back up a little bit here. You have feelings for me?"
"Did I say that?" He asked nervously. "I didn't meant that."
"I don't know if it work out." I said. "You're all the way in Ireland."
"Yeah, you're right." Sean said. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything in the first place. Can we just forget that the whole flirting thing happened?"
"Sure." I said. "If that's what you really want."
*****
Sean and I have been talking for about a year and a half now and we decided to try out a long distance relationship about two or three months after when we really started talking that night I uploaded that vlog. Speaking of that, I'm back to making videos full time and I honestly couldn't be happier.
Hey love. Would you mind answering your door? I'm getting kinda lonely out here.
I was confused when I read Sean's text. Why the hell would he want me to answer the goddamn door?
Love, what are you on about? Why do you want me to answer the goddamn door?
Nice reference but I want you to answer the goddamn door because I told you to.
I sighed and slipped my phone into my pocket as I headed out to the front door. I opened it and immediately felt my heart leap in my chest out of pure happiness.
"Sean?" I asked with excitement and a smile on my face. "Is it really you? Are you really here? Did you really fly all the way from Ireland to surprise me?"
"Yes Mark." He said, his accent sounding even sexier in real life. "Yes I did."
"Who's the fucking best?" I asked him.
"I'm the fucking best!" Sean cries loudly and proudly.
"Now give me a hug you motherfucker."
At that moment, he grabbed ahold of me and threw all of his weight on me, causing me to fall over onto the floor.
"You asshole." I said, lightly shoving his face as I kicked the door closed.
"I thought I was the best!" Sean said, pretending to cry. "Mark, you're a lying ass!"
I laughed and ran my fingers through his light green hair. I smiled as I remembered that he had decided to dye his hair that color when I had to dye my hair bright pink.
"I know I am." I said, playing along with him and pretending to cry. "I don't deserve you."
"Damn right you don't." He teased, standing up and taking both of my hands and pulling me up. "Get out of my house!"
"This is my house dickface!" I teased, shoving him.
Sean just laughed and pulled out a rose from his gray hoodie.
"Well, I don't think a lying asshole deserves this." He said, holding the rose out in front of me.
"How did you know roses are my favorite flower?"
"Lucky guess." He said, taking a few steps towards me and holding out the rose. "Just kidding. I know you."
I took the rose and walked out into the kitchen. I grabbed a vase and filled it with water. Once it was filled, I placed the rose inside and set the case at the very center of the table.
"Can I ask you something absolutely crazy?" Sean asked, now standing right behind me.
"I like crazy." I stated, turning towards him.
He took a deep breath and spoke, "Mark, ever since we first started talking the night after Jessie broke up with you, I've been happier than I have ever been in my entire life. And I can't thank you enough for that."
"Same here." I said. "I don't know where I would be right now if you wouldn't have stepped in and tweeted me and called me that night."
He nodded and cleared his throat before speaking once more, "I'm so glad I did. I'm so glad that I decided to grow some balls and ask you out too. And now I have the balls to do this."
Before I could say anything, he got down on one knee and took a tiny brown box out of his hoodie. He opened the box and it revealed a small gold ring.
"Mark Fischbach, will you make me the happiest man in the world and do me the honor of marrying me?"
"Oh my God Sean!" I said, barely able to believe that this was actually happening. "Yes! Of course I'll marry you!"
He smiled and out the ring on my left ring finger. Once he did that, he stood up, holding both of my hands. For a moment, we just stood staring at each other. A moment later, we were having our first kiss. It's pretty crazy to think about that I had just said yes to a person I had just met for the first time today. You would think I would be worried about the engagement and the marriage failing but honestly, I have a good feeling about this. We made a long distance relationship work so I'm pretty confident that we can make anything work at this point.
If you're with me, then everything's alright.
