Poem 56 || Polaroid
Remember that time,
When we frolicked in the rain?
Remember that time,
When you comforted me,
Slaughtering my pain?
Memories of the past,
Now hang on loose strings,
Making my soul sink
My emptiness is vast,
And my heart feels as if it had been ripped apart,
Just like us
The polaroids,
That hang weakly across the white walls,
Are stained with dreams,
Those that shall never come true
They speak of times when rays of light shone in might,
When leaves crumpled up and carelessly fell from the trees,
When flowers bloomed in admirable pride and danced in the sunlight
Now I sit here,
By the doorstep,
On my own,
Wrapped in my thick blue coat
Wishing you would come back,
And that we would meet again,
Somewhere and someday
Frost has formed,
Snowflakes fall onto the thick blanket of snow,
The weather is especially cold
I embrace myself,
Shut my eyes,
Gripping tightly onto this little polaroid.
