Poem 27 || Stardust
Gently,
Softly,
Ever so quietly
Dust of magic,
Is sprinkled onto her pillowcase
As she rested her head,
Drifting off into a daze
The stars seemed to call her name
She got up from bed,
In an instant,
Looking out of the window
The dark vast blanket,
Up above,
Was lighted up with constellations of stars
Millions and billions of them
Each shining brightly,
Sparkling continuously,
So far away,
Magical in their own little way
The silver moon,
Glistening like a crystal,
Hung in the sky,
Its reflection cast onto the lake nearby
Galaxies and planets,
High up,
So far away,
Yet seemed to be reflected in her eyes
Nights just like this,
She would dream away
At the sight of the stars,
Twinkling in vain
Up high,
In the midnight skies,
Far, far away
For her part,
She did not know anything with any certainty,
But she knew they were somewhere up there,
Calling out her name,
Once again,
Stardust.
