------------------------------------
After a long flight, Agate returned to England with her family. At the airport, she tiredly dragged her suitcase behind her parents to go home and rest. A few hours later, Agate arrived home, quickly stored her belongings, hurried to her desk, retrieved paper and pen, and composed a letter to Arima. But after finishing writing, she left it there and wrote more a few days later because she felt it was not enough to express her feelings. Agate knew Arima would not read her online messages after learning the truth. Thus, she had to write a handwritten letter, hoping Arima would read it and understand. She only had one chance, so the letter must be perfect. Finally, after a few weeks, the letter was complete.
"She might never forgive me for leaving without saying a word, and she might still be angry that I was her secret online friend. But whatever, it's okay. How will I know if I don't try? I only hope Arima can wait for me until the day I see her again!" Agate wished in her heart. It still harbored those warm feelings for Arima, which went beyond friendship. Agate still struggled to understand them, let alone their significance. She could only be sure that Arima was someone important to her. She missed Arima, missing her cold eyes and warm smile.
"Does she... think I'm that important?" Arima wondered after reading Agate's handwritten letter.
Agate cared for Arima much more than a friend. She always feared that Arima had no feelings for her but was unaware that she had become something special to Arima, something Arima unconsciously cherished.
Arima felt sad when Agate left and even more disappointed when she left without saying a word: She could have talked to her online as ag4t3! Disgruntled, lost, and maybe even a little furious, Arima became even more confused when she thought about their relationship. It was undoubtedly precious, but everything took time.
The shock was too much for Arima to handle. She could not calm down and think about what to do next. She could only choose to remain silent, respond to ag4t3 with an ellipsis, and post one last post before closing her blog. Indeed, Arima decided to cut off contact with Agate to give both of them time to reconsider everything.
Because of this, she even forgot the birthday of the person she adored. However, Arima never regreted it as she could sort out the doubts and worries in her mind. With that resolute decision, Arima had not spoken to Agate for a long time despite missing her. She had no idea that a girl in faraway England was missing her very much.
Yet everything changed when Arima received a letter from England. It was lost and delivered nearly a year later due to a postal error. And to her surprise, it was Agate's handwritten letter, which contained all the unspoken thoughts of this girl for her. Agate was afraid to bother Arima, so she did not dare to text or contact her, just waiting for her reply day after day.
Now that Arima understood everything, she finally texted Agate back. What a coincidence! The day Arima texted Agate back happened to be Agate's birthday. In only three more days, it would be a whole year of silence between them.
And so the story continued. Days kept passing by, and life kept changing. Only the longing and affection of the two girls for each other remained unchanged. Only their love remained persistent!
Of course, both Arima and Agate had stumbled, confused, and were partly fearful and disoriented, making mistakes that filled them with regret whenever they thought about their relationship. But neither girl regretted falling into this high school romance! It taught them what it meant to love and miss someone. Therefore, they always treasured it, even when it made them feel lost in love.
