It was lunch time.

Vi didn't came so Mahi thought to check on him.

He found door was locked from inside. Which was not usual

Mahi knocked it

After sometime Vi opened the door. He went stiff looking at Mahi. He lowered his eyes.

He got aside letting Mahi enter

Mahi sat on bed and Vi grabbed the chair beside him

Mahi: uhmm hi

Vi: he..hello

Mahi: how are u??

Vi chuckled

Vi: much better after yesterday

Mahi: Cheeku....

Vi looked at Mahi.

Did he heard right??

Did Mahi called him cheeku again??

He so fucking was waiting for this day. He should be happy but .....

He doesn't know... He is not feeling anything.

Vi just kept on staring Mahi blankly which pinched Mahi's heart

Mahi: Cheeku

He held Vi's hands

Mahi: I...I am sorry. I got to know u didn't did it intentionaly

Mahi looked at Vi.

But still he couldn't get any response from him

Mahi: cheeku please kiddo

Mahi cupped Vi's face

Mahi: atleast say something bacche. Gussa hai, hurt hai toh gussa kr na beta, chilla le atleast don't stay silent na betu

Vi: I am not angry

Vi spoke for the first time

Vi: I am not hurt. I am not. And for yesterday it's okay

Mahi: no it was not and yeh tu bhi jaanta hai. I know kiddo I was very wrong but bacche kasam se I was not in right frame of mind

Vi: that's why u not trusted me that I will never do intentionally like this with u.

Mahi looked down

Vi: U thought I was jealous seeing ur happiness. Didn't u?? Bas bole nhi.

Mahi: I am sorry

Vi: yess or no please. And I want truth if u ever for once considered me ur brother

Mahi nodded in yes.

Vi: u were right. I do get jealous when I see happy family. More than jealous I get sad. I miss them. But...but never seeing u and anyone else in team with thier family makes me feels sad. I am atleast that even if I am not having that warmth them atleast u guys are having. And I thought u all will understand this thing without me saying anything. But its fine , I am fine completely fine.

Mahi sighed and kneeled down infront of Vi

He knew this time he has to keep his emotions aside and have heart to heart chat with Vi

Yess he knew he has hurted Vi like anything but somewhere he still feels that he can only fill up the wound he has created

Mahi: cheeku I know whatever I have done no explanation will justify it. I have hurted u

Vi tried to protest

Mahi: shhh let me complete. I know what I have done warna mera cheeku aisa hai hi nhi jo iss tarah se sabse door ho jaaye. Mera cheeku toh bestest hai relations mein. He always puts everything in the relation even more than anyone can think of.

Vi: but still u did this?? Pta hai jab uss din aapne mujhe apna sabse bada beta bola tha. I thought yess this is from where I belong to. I belong to this person standing infront of me.  But the reality is aisa kucch bhi nhi hai.

Mahi: I am sorry bacche. I was just in correct mind frame. See I am not forcing to forgive me or forget everything. I just want ki tu khud ko punishment mat de kiddo. Khud ko hurt mat kr. Don't go to that shell again.

Mahi: I know I should I protected u and I failed. But I promise I will be ur shield. I will protect u kiddo. I will protect u always.

Tears started flowing from Vi's eyes.

Mahi looked at Vi.

He was about to hug him but Vi moved away going in balcony

Vi: I need sometime M.S.

Wipping his tears.

Mahi: take the time u want. Bu....

Vi: I need sometime alone

Mahi: Cheeku please

Vi(whispers) : Please leave. Atleast itna toh krdo mere liye

Mahi looked down teary eyes and nodded swallowing the lump

Mahi: okay. But just remember I am always with u. Even if u don't forgive me then also I will stay with u. Aur uss din maine tujhe mera sabse bada beta aise hi nhi bola tha. I meant it. And I can swear on u. I am sorry

He went from there not able to control himself any longer.

Vi turned and found Mahi had left. He ultimately fell on his knees broken, devastated and what not.

He knew if he will open the door he will see Mahi crying his heart out.

But the thing is he was not in the condition to console anyone. Forget about anyone else he was unable to console even himself.

He wanted to just run away from everything, from Mahi, from this painful memories

but at the same time the sincerity in Mahi's voice was compelling him to just go and hug him tightly

To go and complain about everything wrong that he has gone through

A storm was going on inside his heart which was breaking him from inside.

Vi looked at his wrist. A thread was tied. It was the thread Prem gave tied on his last birthday.

He remembered his papa used to say

" No matter how much darkness surrounds u,  just listen to what ur heart says and trust on ur instincts it will light up ur surrounding in a moment "

He kept that wrist near his chest

Vi: no papa I will not forgive him

A 10 yrs old cheeku puffing his cheeks

Vi: firstly he leaked infos of our team, we lost and now he is guilty

Prem: bilkul mat kr. Krna bhi nhi chahiye. What if he does the same again. But cheeku ek cheez bata doesn't me, mumma, ur bhaiyu, ur didu forgive u everytime?? Tu bhi toh mistake repeat kr skta hai

Vi: but I promise u naa

Prem: promise toh woh bhi kr rha hai

Vi: I am truly guilty alwaysssss

Prem: how can u decide if he is truly guilty or faking up the things

Vi pouted cutely

Prem: cheeku learn to forgive. I am not saying forgive everyone who hurts u ,who betrays u. Just look into their eyes. If ur heart says he is repenting over the actions and will not do anything like that again then atleast take first step..

Few tears rolled from his eyes.

He remembered Mahi too forgave him everytime for all the small big mistakes he did

Whether its doing some shit on the field or sneaking for party or get drunk.

Although he was punished. But still forgiven everytime

On the otherside

Mahi was crying badly hugging sonu

Mahi: I lost my kiddo. I lost him

Whole team was teary eyed they were for the first time seeing Mahi like this

And offcourse afterall its his cheeku whom he has nurtured all these years with everything he had

Sonu: ssh aisa kucch nhi hoga. He needs time na. Woh bhi tere bina nhi reh skta

Mahi: he will never forgive me. I know I don't deserve it either

"U better decide me that bhai"

Vi was standing there with teary eyes.

He just hugged Mahi tightly.

Tears rolled from their eyes continuously.

Mahi(mumbling): I am sorry

Vi: its okay

He hugged Mahi more crying on his shoulder only he knew for how much time he was holding himself

No matter what happens Mahi still is his comfort zone. The comfort zone he needs to let his emotion out.

For Mahi Vi is still the one whom he can lean upon at any moment of time
