You know I was 5 years old when my grandfather died, I still remember his smile. He had lung cancer. Sadly, when we got to know it,it was too late.

Flashback

I entered his room, the room left so weird. The smell of medicines and the sad spirts who wanted to do so much before they died in this bed where right now my grandpa was. He was peacefully sleeping. His wrinkled hands reached me. I was looking at him with so much effort as not to cry my life out.

"Son, you know my friend jack right?" he said.

"Yes grandpa, I know uncle jack."

" He loved this girl Katie, we were in high school. He used to watch her and adore her. One day they finally met they fell in love. But, some days later we got to know that Katie's father wants her to marry his friend's son. I knew that family, I could have stopped the wedding but I don't why I didn't. Jack till date doesn't know this. Probably he never will. That's the reason he never married anyone. Never do this kid, never do this to anyone. If you can make up for me one day never hesitate, trust me that very day I'll be there helping you, to do the things I never did."

Veronica's pov

Today I'll ask my parents to shift with us. I am leaving day after tomorrow and will be coming back after 1 month till then I guess they can finish all their important work. I won't sell this house obviously. But, I will rent this to someone.
I thought it would be better to tell my mom first and convince her because dad can get impulsive. I was heading towards my moms room when I saw Chris talking to someone on the phone. I went inside to investigate.

"Hailey but you gotta be kidding me!?" Chris shouted.

I saw him turn towards me and rolled his eyes. With I asked him what happened by hand gestures but he totally ignored that and started shouting on Hailey. What the hell is up?

He hung up the phone with mild irritated eyes and with frustration took a deep breath probably deeper than the Pacific Ocean.

"Hailey is bankrupt." Chris said.

"Wait, what?" I replied

"From last three months her clinic is undergoing several issues and a lot of money was spent in repaying her bills and now... You know her boyfriend?"

"Ya, that creep. Ethan?" I asked.

"He ran away with her money once he got 10% share in the clinic."he replied.

"WHAT? FOR ALL THIS TIME HIS MISSION WAS TO....WHAT THE FUCK?" I was so shocked this is so wrong at so many levels.

"Listen, we gotta help her."

"We'll see what we can do. For now let's go and talk to my mom."

"You are gonna ask her to come with us?"

"yup"

We both walked in her room. She looked at us and smiled and asked what's up. We both sat down in front of her and looked her straight in the eye. Well, I hope this goes well...

Oof! Finally after so much of convincing, she listened to me. Now I gotta call Hailey and asked about her. It's ridiculous what happens nowadays ugh. I was calling her but he didn't pick up. After several tries I was so frustrated,  is she even fine!? I was starting to get very worried. Finally, after 1 hour she called me back.

"Listen, Veronica?" she said in a husky voice.

"Ya, say?" I asked.

"So, I am coming to California, I am meeting a dealer and if I get this clinic, trust me...just trust me I'll be so much better." she pleaded.

"Okay, so what do you want me to do?" I was really confused.

"I need a house to live in and just enough money to travel there. I don't want to burden you." she said

"Don't be crazy. Anyways, This is perfect, I will arrange your flights."

CHRIS POV

I had to do something. I need to tell Veronica everything. I was confused. I don't know what to do. So, I called Kevin.

"Kevin, how will you meet Veronica? She is leaving day after."

"Don't do anything just let her go."

"But-

"Don't screw this up, let her go I'll handle it myself."

He hung up the phone.
