Chapter 17

Chris pov

I was watching 'The Kardashian Family' with Veronica's family. I get a phone call from an unknown number. I excused myself and went to the other room.

"Hello?"

"Hi christen, this is Kevin...Kevin Wilson."

As soon as I heard that name, I hung up the phone. Soon after he started messaging me as I stopped picking his calls.

KEVIN: Listen Chris, I want to talk to you.

CHRIS: but I don't want to talk to someone who killed my best friend's grandpa.

KEVIN: I didn't kill him!!!

CHRIS: All criminals say that.

KEVIN: Believe me dude; I need to talk to you.

CHRIS: Fine.

KEVIN: Tomorrow at 12 near central park?

CHRIS: okay.

I had a very bad feeling doing this but I need to hear what he wants to tell me. I went back and watched the movie. I loved her family. They were so nice and so accepting. I really want them to shift to London with us. My parents died in an air plane crash 5 years ago and I have missed this so much. This love, care, attention, affection and the overall atmosphere which is created.

Its Saturday today, we'll be leaving exactly after a week. Anyways, it was 11 past 20  and I picked up my bag and headed towards the central park. Through half way I realized that I forgot my phone but brushed it off as I saw Kevin sitting on the bench near the fountain. I went towards him.

"Hi, Christen its Kevin. Nice to meet you." Kevin said and moved his hand towards me for a handshake.

"Call me Chris; tell me what you wanted to tell, fast." I said declining the handshake.

"See, I really liked Veronica, I know she probably hates me but I didn't kill her grandfather. Mike and I left the mafia and now we don't know each other at all. We all started a new life. I am proud of Veronica, she reached so high up. But, I did not kill her grandfather. I'll tell you what exactly happened and as I know you would not trust me, I have the proves."

After what Kevin told me, I was so mad. I was mad at everything. Kevin loved her and maybe he still does. This situation is so messed up that it's unreal. Kevin really did not kill her grandfather. He is a nice guy. But veronica would never believe all of this.

Even though I was a bit mad I was going back home. I parked the car and went inside. The servant told me Veronica's parents have gone to a wedding. I went to my room; I opened the door and saw Veronica holding my phone. She turned and looked at me. Her eyes we red, she was crying.

"So, I just entered this room and you had missed calls from an unknown number. I didn't know that you are now friends with Kevin, despite knowing the fucking fact that he killed my grandfather." Veronica said and threw my phone.

"Relax Ve-

"NO I WONT RELAX. YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO TELL ME!"

"I was going to tell y-

"STOP LYING, YOU AGREED TO MEET SOMEONE WHO HAS MURDERED MY GRANDFATHER!"

"WHAT PROOF DO YOU HAVE THAT HE KILLED HIM? KEVIN DID NOT KILL HIM. I SAW ALL THE PROVES!"

"Oh...so now you will believe him? He faked everything, I don't know. He killed my grandfather and that's it." Veronica said and just rushed out of the room. I followed her but she went inside her room and locked herself.

"STOP THIS DRAMA VERONICA. I KNOW YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM AND IT HURTS BUT YOU CAN'T JUST BELIEVE THINGS WITHOUT HIS EXPLANATION. THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM. YOU ALWAYS THINK YOU ARE RIGHT." I said and banged the door

"Stop taking his side, he didn't love me. He killed him, I loved my grandfather. Kevin was in the mafia Chris, how can you believe him?"

"Listen, meet Kevin and ask him all of this. Clear it out. Let all this go now Veronica and open the door." She opened the door and we sat on the bed.

"I can't meet him. I just can't." Veronica said sobbing.

"Okay do what you want. But, I don't think he killed your grandfather."

"I don't know... I am going to sleep" veronica said and I got up and left the room.

I was so sad. This could have been better, so much better. I wanted Kevin and Veronica to meet. 

This needs to clear out.
