Epilogue
Kim Rok Soo awoke from constant tapping on his body. He was panting hard and sweating profusely. Familiar faces greeted him. Their faces were painted with worry and relief.
"You were having a nightmare, Rok Soo-yah."
"Jung Soo?" Kim Rok Soo looked at him in bewilderment.
"Are you still half-asleep?"
"Soo Hyuk-hyung?" Rok Soo asked, he was definitely confused.
"You heard that Jung Soo? He called me hyung!" Lee Soo Hyuk was moved by the sudden endearment.
"Wait, where am I?" Kim Rok Soo asked, he examined the room he was in and it looked like he was in a hospital or some sort.
"What are you talking about? We're in school. Did you lose your memory after the ball hit you earlier?" Jung Soo asked. He sat up and leaned on the headboard.
School? What school? I don't recall having this kind of memory when I was young, Kim Rok Soo thought.
"How old am I?" Rok Soo asked. The two looked at one another and faced him again.
"You're 16, remember. Are you really alright?" Soo Hyuk asked as he placed his palm on Rok Soo's forehead.
What's this? What's happening? I don't have this kind of memory from the past, Rok Soo thought as he recalled what happened.
Before waking up, he remembered learning the truth about what happened to Cale Henituse. His heart ached when he remembered the pain he caused him. All his pleadings, tears and screams were still fresh in his mind. Due to this, his body curved and began to tremble. Jung Soo and Soo Hyuk immediately assisted him, constantly asking what was wrong.
Cale Henituse completely died. His body and soul disappeared from the human world and the divine realm. All the pain and suffering he had to endure all the times he came back to the past made his soul tired. Eventually, his soul gave up. His body and soul shattered, leaving a small fragment of him in the hands of the Sun God. That was the reason why Cale cannot reincarnate, not because he asked but he couldn't. He knew he would completely disappear when he died again. Kim Rok Soo was filled with guilt and agony over the loss of his precious friend and little brother.
Choi Jung Soo and Lee Soo Hyuk were taken aback seeing Kim Rok Soo cry. He was crying painfully, they thought he must've had a bad dream to cry like this. The younger one always had a stoic expression so seeing him like this was something new. They patted his back as he cried.
After crying for a good thirty minutes, Kim Rok Soo finally calmed down. He would never forget Cale Henituse for the rest of his life. He finally stood and walked out of the infirmary room with Lee Soo Hyuk and Choi Jung Soo. He was somehow familiar with the place, he deduced it was the memory of his current body. Then, he received a sudden call. Kim Rok Soo's eyes widened upon seeing the caller ID.
[Mom]
It was his mother calling.
"Aren't you going to answer? Auntie's calling you," Jung Soo said. Rok Soo's hand shook as he swiped his phone to answer.
[Hello? Rok Soo?] He heard the familiar voice of his mother. The mother he lost before at a very young age.
"Mom?" Rok Soo reluctantly called her.
[Are you okay? You sounded weird]
"No, I am alright, mom," Rok Soo answered affectionately. He hasn't seen her for more than thirty years. What chance does he have hearing and knowing his mother and father were alive?
[I see. Rok Soo, your father and I will come home a little later than usual. We will pick up your new brother]
"New brother?"
[Yes, didn't we tell you last month we will adopt a child since he was so pitiful. We couldn't bear leaving him in the orphanage]
"I see, I understand. Keep safe, mom. Tell dad I say hi," Rok Soo said.
[Alright. See you later, baby. I love you]
"I love you too," Rok Soo responded and she hung up.
My parents are alive this time, Rok Soo thought.
Soo Hyuk and Jung Soo stared at their friend who was acting strangely. They shrugged it off and dragged him back to their classroom. Soo Hyuk was a senior in their high school and Jung Soo was in the same class with Rok Soo.
Kim Rok Soo was certainly excited about going home. Though he hadn't seen his parents all this time, they were one of the people he wanted to meet if he was permitted. His parents died in a car accident when he was young and he was taken care of by his uncle who neglected and abused him.
I guess the me in this world is happy. I am glad, he thought.
Afternoon came and the school bell rang. The students went on to their club activities and Rok Soo didn't join any clubs so he could go home anytime. Soo Hyuk was in the student council and Jung Soo was in the kendo club, both of his friends were quite active and popular in their school. He was also popular but he decided to ignore them. Rok Soo went to the library first and waited for his friends there.
Late afternoon came, Kim Rok Soo and the others walked back home, since Rok Soo's parents won't be coming home for a while, they decided to visit the places they always go to. Rok Soo smiled unknowingly seeing how different this world was compared to his previous world before he was brought inside the book. Now, the place was peaceful and vibrant. People did not possess any special abilities, so his abilities were now gone.
They stopped at one of the fast food restaurants in the area and ate something Rok Soo hadn't eaten after transmigrating inside the [Birth of a Hero].
Speaking of that book, what happened to them? He thought. He opened his phone and he found an app.
"Oh, you're still reading that?" Jung Soo asked as he bit from his burger.
"Ah, yes," Rok Soo answered.
"That book has a secret ending, you have to buy the remaining chapters," Jung Soo added.
Kim Rok Soo immediately checked the app and he saw there were two more chapters locked. Those might be the special chapters. He immediately bought the chapters and began reading them.
"I feel bad towards that one character in the book. The character was unnamed though, too bad. I suddenly started liking the character after learning what happened in the special chapter," Soo Hyuk said as he sipped on his diet coke. Rok Soo looked at them and proceeded on reading.
The chapter started after the war with the White Star and his organization. The events that happened after they defeated the White Star were the same. The only difference from the original one, Cale Henituse, is not named here. It seemed the book had erased his existence which made Rok Soo's heart ache.
Why are those bastards so desperate to erase his existence? Rok Soo thought as he remembered the annoying faces of the gods who were obsessed with him.
[The unnamed black-haired hero mourned over his precious friend whom his allies killed off without proper trial. He begged the gods to bring his friend back.]
What kind of bullshit is this? Am I the unnamed black haired hero? Who said I begged them? Rok Soo asked inside his head, quite irritated from what he read. However, it was true. He mourned over Cale's death. It seems both Cale and I are unnamed here.
[The gods heard the unnamed black-haired hero's pleas and they let him inside their realm. There he saw his precious friend, peacefully sleeping in a beautiful garden. The unnamed black-haired hero contemplated whether or not he should go back to the mortal world. The gods told him he cannot take his precious friend back to their world, but he was welcomed to stay inside the beautiful garden with his friend.
There he decided without any room for arguments, the unnamed black-haired hero left his allies and family in the mortal world as he made up his mind in staying with his precious friend. If he could choose over the world or his friend, he would always choose to be with him.
When his precious friend woke up, he smiled and embraced the unnamed black-haired hero. There, they lived happily ever after.]
Hmm, a little different from what really happened. We didn't live happily, Cale died and I remained alive, Rok Soo thought as he made a sad expression which didn't go unnoticed to the two.
[The unnamed black hero's family was angered by his decision, but before they could lash out, they were shown the memories of their precious friend. They saw how they made him suffer, they saw how much tears and screams filled his life, they saw how heartbreaking each decision he made, they saw how much he begged for them to listen to him yet they didn't. They all felt the pain and sufferings he felt. They cried and begged for forgiveness but it will never reach their precious friend.
Years passed after their disappearance, unrest spread out all throughout the continents. Nobody could trust anybody. War broke out once again and their old allies turned their backs on them. The unnamed black-haired hero's friends and family died one by one. The place they all swore to protect was also the same place they destroyed.

Kim Rok Soo was speechless. He didn't expect something like that to happen. He didn't expect they would destroy the world because of their death. He didn't know what to feel. He unknowingly sighed and rested his head on his palm. Jung Soo and Soo Hyuk sat beside him and patted his back.
"Are you okay?" Soo Hyuk asked.
Rok Soo nodded as he held back his tears. He felt all their efforts had gone to waste. It was disappointing how selfish these people were. He never regretted dying with Cale but their friends and family ended everything. Why? Because they were gone? Did they just exchange the lives of the world for them? Rok Soo believed all of them had gone crazy.
It was almost night and Rok Soo's mood was down. Jung Soo and Soo Hyuk didn't know what to say, they seldom saw him like this.
"Rok Soo, we'll part here. Rest well okay, and introduce us to your brother later!" Jung Soo said as he waved goodbye with Soo Hyuk. Rok Soo waved back.
Rok Soo walked slowly as he thought of what happened to the previous world. He thought they would be smart and would know what to do but he was wrong.
Kim Rok Soo reached his home, he was living in a two-story house with his parents. Seeing the lights were on, his parents might be home. He entered the gate and walked towards the door. As he opened the front door, Rok Soo was welcomed by his mother who was smiling at him.
Rok Soo immediately ran and hugged his mother. Oh, how much he missed his mother.
"Oh, what is this? Did something happen at school?" his mother asked.
"Nothing happened, I am just glad you are here," Rok Soo answered.
His mother chuckled and gently rubbed Rok Soo's back.
"Oh, Rok Soo, you're back!" his father welcomed as he joined in their embrace.
Rok Soo laughed from how warm he felt. He suddenly forgot why he was sad again. Then, Rok Soo caught a glimpse of red hair in their house. His eyes widened as he could see a small child standing and fidgeting while looking at them.
"Right, Rok Soo, this is Cale. He will be your new brother from today onwards so look after him, okay?" his father said as he led the child in front of him.
"Cale, this is Rok Soo, he will be your new big brother from now on," his father smiled warmly.
The little redhead was a little reluctant but he managed to smile awkwardly which warmed up Rok Soo's heart. He wanted to run and embrace the redhead but he didn't want to make the child uncomfortable. His heart and soul leaped in joy as soon as he saw him.
"H-Hello, Rok Soo-hyung," Cale said in a small voice. Rok Soo kneeled and took his small hands as he smiled.
Cale reincarnated in the world where Kim Rok Soo was. The gods who pitied his existence made it possible. No war and conflict were present in the world they are currently living in. Cale didn't have any memories of his past lives as he was only derived from a small speck of light. His life reseted and he started anew together with his precious person, Kim Rok Soo.
"May the two of you live happily and peacefully this time," the God of Death, War and Sun God said as they finally closed the portal in that world. So no one in the previous world would come here and disrupt the balance they created. So the two people they adored can finally achieve what they wanted to achieve. The gods in the divine realm gave them blessing and guidance so the two of them won't be astray.
