Another scene appeared in front of Kim Rok Soo's face, he didn't want to watch Cale suffer again. Contrary to what he wanted, Cale's memories began to play.

[Cale woke up again and again, experiencing death over and over again. As if the gods and his fate didn't let him rest. Cale certainly didn't understand what was happening and why it was happening. The redhead cried and questioned why the world wanted him to suffer. It wasn't easy. He was finally starting to feel tired.]

"Oh, Cale," Rok Soo muttered.

The same scenes played through. Rok Soo couldn't help but tear up as his beloved little brother cried out of pain and forgiveness to something he didn't do.

["Vicross, I swear it wasn't me! I can't do something like that! Please, stop this!" Cale screamed and cried as he begged his former chef to stop hitting him with his metal whip.

Every hit felt heavy and hot. Every time his former chef hit the same place over and over again, his skin would tear. His pleas would always fall into deaf ears. Whenever he looked up and saw the expression of the person whom he grew up with, it was filled with hatred.

Vicross-hyung, why do you hate me so much? Is it because I called your cooking nasty? Cale thought as his vision started to get blurry and his breath started to hitch.

It hurts. It hurts. It hurts.

Cale thought over and over again. Then again, Cale died in the hands of his former chef whom he thought was a good older brother, Vicross Molran.

In another regression, both Choi Han and Vicross tortured him to death. At some point, Rosalyn aided them by giving them high quality potion to keep Cale Henituse alive so they could hurt him more and more.

Whenever they accused Cale, he continued to beg and ask for their help but he was continuously ignored. His family turned their backs on him during the crucial moments. The people he thought his new family and friends continuously betrayed him. The person he thought loved him the most broke his heart into a million pieces.

There was no one who became Cale's ally. Everybody was his enemy. He was and will always be alone.]

"What the fuck? I am here! I am always by your side, Cale!" Rok Soo yelled as his tears continued to flow. Then, his head turned when he heard Cale's scream.

["St-Stop! Don't do this!" Cale yelled as he tried to pull his chains and push the two knights who were supposed to guard him. They were touching him in inappropriate places.

The knights were looking at him with hungry eyes. Cale shuddered seeing their expression. It was disgusting.

"Haha, your reactions are too cute," one of them said.

"It's such a shame your attitude is trash but your physique is really beautiful," another one said.

Cale felt goosebumps from every touch these knights made.

"It'd be a waste not to get a taste before you die," they added.

Cale struggled from their touch but they punched him in the stomach which made him slump. The other knight held him down while the other one stripped him.

"Stop!—" Cale yelled but they gagged him as they started forcing themselves on him.

There was nothing Cale could do in his position. He was chained, gagged and held down by two well-trained knights. It was disgusting, humiliating and he kept wishing for his death. Even his lover, Alver, didn't touch him like this.

Cale was covered with bruises, hand prints and bite marks. Once they were done with him, they would clean him up so there wouldn't be any evidence for their deeds.

His nightmares continued as the knights visiting him at night began to increase. They started drugging him so he would cooperate with them.

"No! No more! I can't take any more than this!" He screamed and cried and begged but nobody listened to him. Instead, they railed him even more.

During the day, Cale would receive Vicross and Choi Han's torture. At night, he would be sexually violated by who knew how many knights forced themselves to him. Before closing his eyes, after his body and mind finally gave out, the knights stopped and trembled. He forced his head to look up to the person outside the prison cell.

It was Choi Han, Vicross, Ron, Alver and his father, Deruth. They were looking at him with wide and angry eyes.

Are they here to mock me? Cale thought as the final tear fell off from his eyes before it completely shut off, taking his final breath.

Cale didn't know what happened afterwards but the gods certainly knew. They saw it. They watched them with interest.

Before the five men went to Cale's prison, Kim Rok Soo awoke and demanded for Cale's presence. Rok Soo cleared up every misunderstanding they had and explained what truly happened. Rok Soo expressed his displeasure to his so-called found family. This led to the five to come and fetch Cale. The children and the others were preparing for Cale's comeback. Choi Han, Ron, Vicross, Alver and Deruth went to get the redhead. They prepared lots of potions and clean clothing. They believed Cale would understand why they did that. They believed Cale would forgive them.

However, they never imagined the scene in front of them. Cale was sprawled on the floor, naked and covered with filth and men's essence. His body was red and blue from different marks covering his skin. Cale lifted his head and saw the faces of his former friend, family and lover. His eyes were devoid of any positive emotions. The once bright and sparkling eyes were no more. It was replaced by pain, despair and never-ending heartbreak. Choi Han, Ron, Vicross, Alver and Deruth saw the tears that fell from the redhead's eyes as he gradually closed his eyes. The knights prostrated as their bodies shook to ask for forgiveness. Cale remained unmoving on the floor and the people who went to pick him up shook in rage.

"What have you done?!" Deruth roared as he approached his son. He tried waking up his son but to no avail.

Ron approached them to hand Deruth clothing for Cale but they needed to clean him up first. Alver, Vicross and Choi Han went to punish the knights. They made them spill what they did and how many people they were in cahoots with.

Gradually, Cale's body turned cold and his life this time ended without reaching his happy ending.

"Hahaha! Look at these bastards crying over the death of the person they pushed to his own death!" The God of Mischief laughed as he watched Cale's family and friends cry their hearts over his death.

"Humans are truly selfish and disgusting creatures! They don't have that right to cry over his death!" The God of Misery commented. He felt disgust from these people.

"Isn't this enough? We should stop doing this to Cale," the Sun God spoke.

"No! This is fun. Look how much hypocrisy and irony these people hold," the God of Mischief responded.

"Cale will truly die if this continues!" The Sun God argued. The God of Mischief didn't respond.

There, Cale woke up in his final regression. He died after he was beheaded in front of the people. After he died, his soul appeared in front of the gods. Some of them rejoiced and some looked at him in worry. His soul was deteriorating, the other gods didn't notice it. Cale looked at them, he didn't have any emotions left. He was tired. Extremely tired.

"I don't want to go back. Make these people retain the memories of the future to aid them in defeating the White Star and Sealed God. In exchange, take my life back. Make my existence and memories from these people disappear. Don't make me reincarnate, transmigrate or regress. I am tired, I just want to rest," Cale said, there was no emotion in his voice.

The Gods looked at him, some smiled, some frowned, some had a sad expression. People wanted to reincarnate, and yet the person in their arms just told them he didn't want to reincarnate. Then, Cale's soul began to glow—he was in the process of disappearing.

"Cale, no!" The Sun God said as she approached him and hugged him. The redhead didn't speak, he looked at the worried and hurt faces of the gods. He wanted to laugh but he was tired already and finally he could have his long awaited rest.

Cale didn't want to reincarnate as he knew he would finally get his rest after such a long time. Cale's soul became a tiny speck of lights divided into billions of pieces then it disappeared one by one. Meaning, if none of it remained he would no longer be reborn. If and only if a tiny speck of light remained, Cale could still be reborn but with no memories of his past life. But that is: if a little speck of light remained.]

Kim Rok Soo fell on his knees, it was uncharacteristic of him to do so but he couldn't take it. He had always been beside Cale since they met however not even once did he ever tell him what had happened to him before. He never told any single soul of what he had experienced.

Despite everything that happened to him, Cale still helped them when they asked for his help and support. Cale smiled at them knowing how badly they treated him before. Cale laughed with them as if he didn't get to have those nightmares every night haunting him. Cale offered sweet and comforting words when things didn't go their way. He always showed him his best self even though he knew he would die again from their hands.

Kim Rok Soo stared at his palms for a good while, watching his tears drop. He wondered how much fear Cale had in his heart not knowing when and how he would die again. He wondered what Cale was thinking when the people who killed him greeted him again with their smiles and expressions showing no regrets of what they did. Just how much Cale wanted to die after Rok Soo took him back?

Then, Rok Soo heard someone crying. It wasn't just a random stranger, it was his little brother, Cale Henituse.

"I'm scared. Why does this always happen to me? I'm scared to be alone. I don't want this anymore, Rok Soo-hyung," Cale cried in that memory.

Kim Rok Soo wanted nothing else but to run to his side and comfort the redhead. He wanted to reassure him he was here to protect him. He wanted to tell him everything would be alright.

But …

It was too late. Cale was no longer with him. Cale will no longer smile and greet him when he comes home. Cale will no longer be there for him when things get rough. Rok Soo had desperately tried to hold his hand but Cale was no longer there to keep holding his hand.

The gods watched Kim Rok Soo as he broke down. Although they felt worse something like this happened but it was their fault to begin with. It was also their selfishness that killed Cale Henituse. With this, the God of Mischief approached Kim Rok Soo and gave him a bottle of liquid. Nobody knew what it was, he only gave Rok Soo a short explanation what was that liquid for.

Kim Rok Soo woke up with Cale's body beside him. It was the same when he closed his eyes last night, though there was no life left on his body, the redhead remained looking alive. His skin wasn't pale, it was actually rosy. It was the same when he was alive. Rok Soo caressed Cale's cheek.

"Cale, I am sorry it took me so long to realize your pain and suffering. Didn't I tell you? I will not leave you all alone again," Rok Soo softly said as he traced Cale's facial features.

"Cale, did I also tell you that I love you too? You are one of the best people I have met in my entire existence. Your presence and smile saved me. Contrary to your reputation, you are the kindest and the most understanding person I've ever met. Is it because you've been treated so badly you know how it feels when nobody understands you?" He added as he gently combed Cale's red hair. Tears kept falling from his eyes. The words Rok Soo reluctantly said in front of Cale when he was alive kept flowing out now that he was dead. He had so many regrets.

"Cale, thank you very much," Rok Soo continued as he gently brought the redhead in his arms as he gave him a warm, final embrace.

After a good minute of embrace, Kim Rok Soo gently laid Cale on their bed and tucked him inside his blanket. He went outside to fetch Cale's favorite flowers. He carefully made the most beautiful flower crown he ever made. When he was done, Rok Soo went to their bedroom and placed the flower wreath on Cale's chest.

"Cale, before you slept you asked me to die with you. I thought you were just joking, who knew it was already the sign. I'm sorry for brushing it off. Like what I said, I'll never leave you alone again. I will be here with you as you were here with me," Kim Rok Soo said as he laid beside Cale.

He took out the bottle given by the God of Mischief. Even if Kim Rok Soo tried to kill himself, he would only feel pain. Plus, his ancient power would prevent him from dying as it will continuously heal him. The God of Mischief told him that the liquid would give him a painless death, which was good for him. He drank the clear liquid and took one last look over Cale. The redhead looked like he was only sleeping, Rok Soo smiled.

"Good night, Cale," he whispered as he kissed his forehead and held his hand.

Kim Rok Soo slowly closed his eyes as if he would only be sleeping. He didn't feel any pain or he could feel his ancient power healing him. He smiled as he tightened his hold onto Cale's hand. Finally, Kim Rok Soo took his last breath.

… to be continued
