Chapter 7
Cale woke up after three days, Kim Rok Soo diligently looked after his well-being. There was nobody inside the Super Rock Villa aside from Rok Soo and Cale. Rok Soo didn't even let the children see Cale, he didn't want to stress Cale out.
"Cale, are you alright?" Kim Rok Soo asked the moment Cale opened his eyes. The redhead turned his head to look at his face.
"Why did you save me?" Cale asked, his eyes were still empty. This made Kim Rok Soo's heart ache.
"Cale, it's only natural that I will save you. You are my little brother," Rok Soo answered. The redhead stared at the ceiling.
"I don't want to be saved. You should've let me die," Cale responded. Rok Soo held Cale's hand.
"Those people will not harm you anymore, I am here," Rok Soo replied. Cale ignored him.
Cale was certainly tired but Rok Soo was telling him he'll be safe here with him. He contemplated whether to trust him or not, after all Kim Rok Soo was always the reason why he had to die. He closed his eyes and went back to sleep.
Kim Rok Soo walked out of his room and prepared something for him to eat. Rok Soo knew how to cook so he prepared Cale's favorite foods. He learned the redhead refused to eat anything they offer so he will try his luck offering him his own cooked meals. When he was done, he went to Cale's room. He was sitting and blankly staring at the window.
"Cale, let's eat," Rok Soo called. The redhead turned to him as he placed the bed tray table in front of him.
"You should eat to regain your strength," he added. Though slowly, Kim Rok Soo was still glad Cale finally started eating.
After eating, Kim Rok Soo stayed beside Cale.
"Hyung, why did you take me back?" Cale asked, looking at his fidgeting hand.
"I don't want to come back here. You should've left me alone there," Cale added.
"You know that I can't, right? If I know you're alive, I would always come for you," Rok Soo answered. The redhead stared at his hyung's face.
"You don't know anything, hyung. What you're doing will only hurt you in the end," Cale responded. He suddenly felt at ease when he's in the presence of his hyung.
"What is there to know? Do you think I am doing something unnecessary?" Rok Soo asked. Cale nodded, this hurt Rok Soo.
He only wanted to be with Cale yet the redhead was telling him he was making a mistake.
"Cale, do you hate me?" He asked. He wanted to know. The redhead reached out to his face as he gently caressed his cheeks.
"Why would I hate you? You know that I love you, hyung. You certainly did not do anything wrong," Cale answered as he carefully nudged his forehead onto Rok Soo's.
"It's just that my presence here will only hurt you," Cale added.
"Cale, if this is about the illusion of you hurting me that will not happen. I will make sure something like that won't happen," Rok Soo reassured.
"That's not what I am talking about. You will find out soon," Cale responded.
"Is there something I must know?" He asked but the redhead didn't answer him. Rok Soo sighed and he gently patted his head.
"I am glad you're back, Cale," Rok Soo said. Cale smiled his usual smile. This warmed up the older man's heart.
The two spent there doing nothing as they have found solace in each other's presence. Cale didn't want to hurt Kim Rok Soo and the latter wanted to be with him. The redhead knew at the end his own presence would hurt him.
I want to take him with me, Cale thought.
Cale Henituse didn't want to live in this place anymore. The longer he stayed here, the moment his heart would eventually betray him. Rok Soo's decision to isolate him from everyone was the best idea. Those people he once called his family and friends had done more damage to him. Being by Rok Soo's side was the only safe place he could find right now.
At night, Cale refused to sleep alone so Rok Soo indulged him in sleeping with him. During the day, they would always talk about things randomly. The older man smiled as he finally brought back the usual Cale.
I will not let you go this time, Cale. I will definitely keep you safe, Rok Soo thought.
Kim Rok Soo and Cale were inside the Super Rock Villa without anyone coming to visit them. He ignored all the pleas of their friends who wanted to see him. He was afraid they would hurt Cale even more due to their idiotic beliefs. He only allowed the children to visit them.
Cale would reluctantly spend his time with the children and his siblings. The children were careful with their interaction with him. The redhead began smiling more and more each day, which made Raon, Ohn, Hong, Lilly and Bassen happy.
Five months after Cale came back, the redhead started getting lethargic. He slept more than he was awake. Because of this, Kim Rok Soo started getting worried. He called Eruhaben to look into Cale's condition and the golden dragon told him he was fine.
While Cale and Rok Soo were staring at the fake sky inside the Super Rock Villa, the redhead seemed transparent in the light.
"Hyung, what would you do if I am fated to die?" Cale asked as he leaned his back on the tree. Kim Rok Soo looked at him.
"I will spend more time with you. I will not leave your side until you close your eyes and breathe your last breath," Rok Soo answered. Cale smiled and leaned on the older man's shoulder.
Hyung, my time is up, Cale thought as his eyes slowly dropped. He felt the older man's rough hands on his head and he smiled.
"Thank you for everything, hyung. I am glad I got to spend a peaceful time with you," Cale softly said. Rok Soo chuckled.
"What's with you? We will have a more peaceful time together not just today but every single day," Rok Soo responded. Cale giggled.
"Hyung, if my fate is decided I don't want to die alone, so would you die with me?" Cale softly asked as he drifted off to sleep.
Rok Soo felt the redhead slept without any care in the world. He didn't understand why Cale asked him that. He shrugged it off thinking it was nothing. He carried the redhead to their bedroom and gently laid him there. He carefully tucked him in and wished him good night.
That night, Kim Rok Soo had a long and cruel dream. He was unsure what it was but it was really sad. In the darkness, he found the God of Death standing before him. Behind the God of Death, there was Cale Henituse.
"You, what is Cale doing here?" Rok Soo asked. "Cale, why are you here?"
"Cale Henituse won't be able to hear you anymore," the God of Death said.
"What do you mean?"
"Cale Henituse died." Rok Soo's eyes widened. He brought Cale into their room, he laid beside him. Cale was still alive.
"You're lying," Rok Soo spat. The God of Death's usual expression disappeared from his face. His eyebrows creased as he stared at Kim Rok Soo.
The Sun God appeared and she was holding a small fragment of red light. Then, the Cale Henituse behind the God of Death was gone.
"What's really happening here?" Rok Soo asked again.
"This light is Cale Henituse," the Sun God answered. Rok Soo's body shook.
"Then who was the one I took from here?" he asked, he was trying to calm himself but his heart was beating so loud it was overwhelming.
"It was Cale Henituse's will and feelings moments before he died," the Sun God answered.
