Chapter 2

Kim Rok Soo cried for who knows how many hours. When his teammates died, he didn't cry but when his single strand of hope vanished, he finally snapped. He woke up and found himself inside a tent. He shot up and immediately walked out. He clearly remembered this place. It was the day before the final battle.

Did I come back a little bit in the past? Rok Soo asked in his mind. His thoughts were halted as he saw Choi Han and the others looking at him with shocked expressions as if they were asking.

If I came back that only meant Cale is still alive! Rok Soo smiled at the thought.

"Hey, have you seen Cale?" Rok Soo asked one of the knights, who looked at him with a confused expression.

"Pardon me, who?" The knight replied.

"What do you mean 'who'? I'm talking about Cale Henituse. He was supposed to be here with me," Rok Soo responded, with a slight irritation in his tone. The knight looked at other knights and scratched his cheek.

"I don't know who Cale Henituse is. Is he a relative of Count Henituse?" The knight once again replied. Kim Rok Soo widened his eyes.

Nobody knew Cale Henituse? He thought. He approached Choi Han and the others, he's angry with them but he had no choice.

"Rok Soo," Choi Han called with a sad expression. Rosalyn, Lark, Ron and Vicross were with him. Kim Rok Soo was looking at them with cold eyes.

"Didn't we defeat the White Star and the Sealed God, but it seems we came back?" Rosalyn asked.

"Maybe we had been given a chance to prevent our mistake," Lark guessed. All of their faces brighten. All of them knew what mistake Lark was talking about.

"Something's not right, Cale isn't here," Kim Rok Soo answered. All of them turned their heads towards Rok Soo.

"Nobody knows him, like he didn't exist in the first place," Rok Soo continued. Before anyone could respond, Raon flew at high speed.

"Human! Cale-human's father is calling!" He yelled. The knights around them had a confused expression. Ohn and Hong, who followed behind Raon, noticed this and they felt strange.

"Raon, Ohn, Hong, you remember Cale?" Rok Soo asked. The three children nodded and yet the others, except for them, don't remember Cale Henituse.

Raon connected the call and Deruth's worried face showed.

"Is my son, Cale, there?" He asked.

"No, he's not here. Nobody seemed to remember him either," Rok Soo answered. Deruth frowned even more.

"It's the same here as well. My servants and knights told us that there was no redhead in the family," Deruth responded while massaging his temples.

What the fuck is going on? Is this the God of Death's doing? I'll definitely kill that motherfucker, Kim Rok Soo cursed.

"Let's talk about this later. We have to settle the priority first," Rok Soo replied and hung up the call.

It was truly strange, all of them—their family, friends, and allies—came back a little to the past with their memories intact. What's even more strange was that other people with no relation to Cale don't remember him. As if they were telling them Cale Henituse didn't exist in the first place. Kim Rok Soo's head started to hurt when Kage approached them.

"Rok Soo, I know you're confused rig was having a difficult time processing everything. But I received a message from the God of Death, he said he will answer all your questions after we defeat the White Star and resealed the God of Despair," Kage said. Rok Soo nodded. They needed to settle the issue with the White Shit and his god first.

Just like what they did before, they killed the White Star using the dagger given by the World Tree and now they were facing the Sealed God. The same as before, they had a difficult time defeating the God of Despair, even though he was sealed, he was still a god. Cale Henituse wasn't with them so Kim Rok Soo had a hard time confronting the Sealed God.

"HA! I guess that child is no longer with you. That's good!" The Sealed God laughed. Every single person who was present and who were watching the battle before their eyes heard what the Sealed God had said.

"Too bad, I really wanted that child to become mine. His despair was superb!" The Sealed God continued as he attacked the group. Kim Rok Soo and the others listened to the Sealed God.

They didn't respond to the Sealed God, after struggling for a long time, they finally caught and resealed him.

"Remember what I told you before, Kim Rok Soo, you will never be happy especially if you learned the truth," the Sealed God uttered as he vanished completely.

What did he mean by 'truth'? Does it have to do with Cale? Rok Soo thought as he gasped for air and the Energy of the Heart continuously healed him.

The people cheered except for the group of heroes and their family and friends. Someone was missing and nobody cared. Nobody knew who was missing but they knew. This was their only chance to make up for the person they killed. However, that said person wasn't present.

After the battle, everyone met up inside the conference room in the Palace of Joy. Alver, the crown prince, was present along with Rok Soo, Choi Han, Rosalyn, Lark, Ron and Vicross. The Henituse Family, the Dragons, the Whales, Fredo, the Mercenary King, the Tigers, and all of their allies were present. Kage stepped up and she changed suddenly as if she was possessed.

"Greetings to every single one of you, I am the God of Death and I am using my daughter's body as a vessel for the meantime as I explain the situation with you all," Kage, who was possessed by the god of Death, spoke. Everyone paid attention to the words of the god.

"You better be and make it fast," Kim Rok Soo replied.

"Ha! You really are impatient," the GoD laughed. He then turned to look at everyone.

"I guess you all deserve to know what had happened to that precious child," he continued.

"What happened to Cale? Why does no one remember him?" Kim Rok Soo asked.

"It was made that way, it was his request after all. All of you shouldn't remember him as well, but another god meddled during the process of regressing all of you a little to the past," the GoD explained. All of them gasp, does this mean, we were not meant to remember him at all? Was the thought going on in their minds.

"Uhm, excuse me God of Death, may I ask something?" Lark timidly asked.

"Proceed."

"D-Does Young Master Cale hate us?"

All of them turned to Lark, they never thought of that and they were surprised. Sure enough, if Cale remembered what happened to him, he would hate them. Their facial expressions showed anxiousness which made Kim Rok Soo laugh and shake his head.

The audacity of these people to look like that, all of you drove him to his death, Kim Rok Soo thought.

"Cale Henituse remembered what happened to him. What you did to him, what you said to him, what transpired, everything. You were all cruel to him, he gave you all the chances, he continued to forgive you. Cale Henituse truly loved, cared and treasured every single person present here," the GoD answered. All of their faces brightened, they knew Cale was the kindest.

"It is funny though, he is just a human but his love for people surpassed a gods' love," he continued.

"Yes, Cale has always been like that," Deruth smiled at the GoD's words.

"Yes, he IS always like that. However, you all took it for granted. All of us, the Gods, rejoiced when he chose to stay," the God of Death said, his face turned serious.

"That means, we can still take him," Kim Rok Soo responded.

"My, yes of course," the GoD replied.

"But what happened? Shouldn't he regress just like us? Why did he stay?" Alver asked. The God of Death turned to him. He then projected a screen and showed Cale with the other Gods.

"You died again," the Sun God said, as soon as she saw Cale in their realm.

The red-haired didn't speak. He remained silent. His hair was in the way, hence they couldn't see his face. Another God approached him and comforted him by giving him a warm embrace.

"I don't want to go back. Make these people retain the memories of the future to aid them in defeating the White Star and Sealed God. In exchange, take my life back. Make my existence and memories from these people disappear. Don't make me reincarnate, transmigrate or regress. I am tired, I just want to rest," Cale said, there was no emotion in his voice.

The Gods looked at him, some smiled, some frowned, some had a sad expression. People wanted to reincarnate, and yet the person in their arms just told them he didn't want to reincarnate—

Then the projection stopped. Kage suddenly turned back, panting. Taylor immediately came to her aid. Kim Rok Soo frowned as the projection stopped before he could get the answer how they should get Cale back.

"The God of Death didn't show us how to retrieve Cale," Rosalyn spoke. They all frowned, then Kage handed Rok Soo a special divine item.

"The God of Death ... told me to give this to you... He said, you'll definitely know ... how to use this," Kage said in between her breathing. Kim Rok Soo took the divine item and suddenly he disappeared leaving the divine item behind.

"I guess, he's off to get Young Master Cale back," Kage concluded. All of them waited patiently for Kim Rok Soo to come back with Cale Henituse.

Kim Rok Soo was transported inside a glass greenhouse. Inside there were a variety of plants, trees, herbs, and flowers. In the middle, there was a big willow tree with a large opening on its trunk. The willow tree was surrounded by incredibly beautiful flowers. Kim Rok Soo approached the willow tree and took a peek inside the opening.

There, Rok Soo saw the redhead he was missing the most. Relief painted his face as he climbed inside the big gap. Cale was currently sleeping inside. He slightly looked different as his hair grew longer, it reached his waist which also became wavy. He was wearing an elegant, white nightgown. He was also wearing an anklet, which Rok Soo perceived as chains for Cale to be kept inside the Gods' domains.

Kim Rok Soo slowly approached the sleeping redhead. His heart warmed up when he saw his beloved little brother. He gently touched his cheeks as he placed his forehead onto Cale's. He wanted to make sure the redhead was warm and alive and breathing.

"I'm so glad you are alive, Cale," Rok Soo breathed a sigh of relief. The black-haired man examined Cale's face and body. He was glad there were no bruises or wounds in his body. The redhead's skin remained pale and fair.

"Cale, wake up. It's me, your hyung," Rok Soo said gently as he patted the redhead. However, Cale didn't wake up.

"Cale, I am here to bring you back. Let's live together and be a slacker with me," Rok Soo continued as he held Cale's hand.

Then, a beeping sound was heard all around the greenhouse and Kim Rok Soo took this cue as a signal that his time was running out. Initially, he planned to wait for Cale to wake up but if he continued to linger inside the gods' domain, they wouldn't be able to come back. Kim Rok Soo carried Cale in his arms.

Meanwhile, inside the conference of the Palace of Joy, the people were anxiously waiting for their Hero's return. All thoughts came flashing in their heads but no one spoke about it. However, only one thought circled in their minds and that is: will Cale forgive them?

After one and half hour, the divine item glowed, then Kim Rok Soo along with Cale Henituse in his arms emerged from the light. All of them sighed a breath of relief when they saw their beloved Cale. Deruth was the first one to step up and approached his son, then everyone close to him followed as well.

Cale's appearance became mature and beautiful as ever. Even though he was soundly asleep, he still exudes that elegance he always carried—even when he acted trashy, he still looked elegant in people's eyes. Some of their allies cried upon seeing the person they killed before just because of false accusation. Some were glad and lowkey cheering Cale was back.

"We should get him to a comfortable bed," Alver said. Joy and relief were painted in his face.

"Tasha, would you guide them to a room for Young Master Cale?" Alver asked his aunt and she nodded. Rok Soo didn't let go of Cale so even if he didn't want physical work, he would do so for the sake of his last thread of hope.

Upon arriving at a room designated for royal guests, Kim Rok Soo gently laid Cale on a luxurious bed. Nobody wanted to leave Cale alone but some of them had to go back to their respective continents since they had a lot of papers and celebrations to do. Only Alver, Kim Rok Soo's companions and Cale's family remained. They all watched the redhead sleeping peacefully. The three children, Ohn, Hong, and Raon curled beside him. They were all happy to see their human breathing and warm.

That night, Kim Rok Soo and the others had to resign for the day and left Cale in Alver's care since the redhead was occupying one of the rooms there. The Henituse Family also came back to their house and told the Crown Prince they will come back the next day. Alver Crossman was currently sitting beside the sleeping Cale.

Alver held Cale's hand and kissed the back of his hand. Nobody could describe how glad he was when he saw his beloved Cale alive. He gently caressed Cale's hair. He didn't leave the redhead's side until he fell asleep beside him hugging him tenderly in his arms.
