Chapter Two

TRACY'S POV

There is nothing I enjoy more than working out in the morning. Considering the fact that my dad is an engineer our house tends is the perfect example of his fantastic work. Our artful gym to begin with is my second favourite room in the whole house second to the garage.

Weird rooms to be my favourites but I never said I was normal. The gym is equipped with all the machinery you can think off for working out; a treadmill, weights, punching bag, yoga mats and the likes. I always wake up three hours before school, two hours to work out and an hour to get ready. Dad made sure that as a young girl that I trained in self defence so I'm well equipped in taekwondo and martial arts. I've never come to a point of using my skills but you never know what the future holds.

After taking a shower revelling on how good my body feels after the work out I'm good to go. Dad makes breakfast whenever he's around so I always take full advantage of a well cooked homemade meal.

"Morning princess"My dad greets when I walk into the kitchen.

"Morning dad."I reply kissing his cheek as I take a seat on the kitchen island.

Dad serves me pancakes before filling his plate and sitting opposite me. We both dig in but after sometime I notice that he has stopped eating and is staring at me.

"What? Do I have something on my face?"I ask him wiping my mouth with a napkin.

Dad shakes his head before he speaks"Why do you do this?"He asks in his serious voice.

"Do what?"I ask nonchalantly.

"Tracy you are in your final year of high school, you have no friends, "I open my mouth to tell him about Scola but he raises his hand to silence me as he continues" I know Scola is your best friend but she's also your only friend. You don't go to parties or host any when I'm away"

I scoff at the thought. Who wants to get into trouble for partying? Actually what I hate about this parties is that they make no sense to me. Its just a bunch of spoilt high schoolers who get drunk, start fights and ruin peoples houses not to forget make out shamelessly in public.

You might be wondering how a boring person like myself may know all this but I've watched movies like House party and abducted, I know how these things work.

"Tracy baby I love you but you need to get a life."Dad says looking at me sadly.

You knew your life was dull when your dad was literally begging you to misbehave.

It's not the first time we were having that talk but it never gets us anywhere so I do what I know works so well to distract him.

I lean across and place a kiss on his cheek"Who needs friends when you dad are more than enough dad. Plus Scola is already too much to handle. Just imagine if there was two of them or worse throw a boy into the pile"I reasoned visibly shaking at the thought.

Dad rolls his eyes at me knowing very well that I have just won him over. Before he can recover I put my now empty plate into the sink, place a quick kiss on dads cheek before grabbing my bag and leaving the kitchen. I head to the garage get on my motorcycle before zooming out of the compound.

***************

I love school! Sorry let me rephrase that, I love studying but I dislike school. St James High School has never been a good place for me. Not because I was bullied, failed classes or anything like that but because nothing here but learning interests me. It just like any other high school, jocks date cheerleaders, bookworms get bullied and of course those who pass graduate and those who fail kiss ass. Scola and I have our own class which no one dares cross, its called giving respect where its due. We mind our own business and we're left alone.

As soon as I enter the school gates I realise something is wrong. And of course there is because I find a red Honda Civic motorcycle parked in my spot. I mean like seriously there are two empty slots on each side and someone chooses my spot. I'm going for blood, this is an insult. I picked this particular spot for two reasons. One because it has a direct view of the security cameras and two because it has a cool shade. I mean who wouldn't love that spot. I have been parking here for the past two years since my sophomore year and this is the first time this has happened. I park my bike in a closely relative spot and before I go check out the Honda. From the plates I realise that it belongs to the schools biggest jerk Tristan Morgan. He is the captain of the football team, his father is the school deputy principal and has an ego the size of the Himalayas. If he thinks he can mess with me then he picked the wrong girl to mess with.

Trace. Trace. Tracy!!!!" Scola tells behind me.

She only calls me Tracy when she's pissed or to tick me off. I turn to face her as she gets out of her car.

"Whats wrong with you, I've called your names like a gazzilion times already?"She asks and I roll my eyes at her exaggeration.

"Oh I know that look, what happened?"She asks.

"This is what happened!"I exclaim harsher than I intended to pointing to Tristan's motorcycle.

Scola's eyes widen in realisation as it hits her but i don't give her the satisfaction of waiting for her reaction. I storm off heading inside looking for that jerk. Scola is hot on my heels trying to talk me out of it. She knows what I'm capable of when I'm angry let alone insulted. We look like crazy people, me clutching onto my backpack face stiff with anger my mouth pulled to a thin line. Scola a few paces behind trying to catch up with me calling my name.

"Trace stop before you do something you'll regret."Scola pleads.

"Too late."I mutter as I spot Tristan taking books from his locker as he talks to his fellow jock friends.

I spot Christian and Jesse in the group but for the moment I don't care about him being there. Tristan smirks when he posts me approach him. I almost punch him to wipe that smirk off his face but I restrain myself.

Slamming his locker shut with my hand I almost cut off his fingers. That would have been a pretty site.

"Oh shit!" I hear Scola curse behind me.

Tristan's eyes widen in shock before he looks at me and his eyes sparkle with a playful look. I feel all eyes on us and for someone who hates attention this would normally bother me but I'm too wound up to care.

"Oh hello beautiful! Playing rough now are we?"Tristan teases but I only continue to glare at him.

"Trace let's just go, he isn't worth it" Scola begs trying to pull me away but I don't budge.

To anyone a motorcycle space might seem trivial but to me it was the ultimate level of disrespect. If I was the one who had parked in his favorite spot, Tristan would have unleashed hell on me. Why was I expected to just roll over when roles were reversed?

"For someone your size I presumed you would have a bigger brain size than a pea but I see I guessed wrong."I spit at Tristan going to the kill on my first blow.

Tristan looks taken aback by my sudden attack. A few gasps are heard from his friends and one even goes as far as to whistle but I'm not done. Tristan opens his mouth to talk but I lift my hand to silence him and to my surprise he does.

I straighten my shoulders to my full height of a 5'7 but considering Tristan stands at 6'0 he still towers a few inches above me but that doesn't faze me.

"Listen here you twerp I don't know who the hell you think you are but no one messes with me and gets away with it."I grit out.

"What the hell are you talking about?"Tristan asks oblivious of what he has done.

"Tracy you're gonna regret this."Scola murmurs behind me but loud enough for me to hear.

Any other time I would have listened to Scola but I was too angry to care. Instead of answering Tristan, I take my keys out of my pocket and shove them into his chest and he's quick enough to catch them before they drop to the floor.

"Go correct what you did before I decide to feed you your balls."I threaten him. More gasps are heard but no one dares to speak.

The Trace I know can do that but would never voice it out loud but today I don't care anymore.

Tristan holds the keys in front of him and that's when it hits him.

"All this for a parking spot, damn girl are you deranged or something?"He asks.

More murmurs are heard but I block them out to avoid getting distracted from my mission.

"Just make sure I have those before class starts or else we'll have a bigger problem in our hands."I inform him.

And with that I shove him away from me and head to the library where I know Scola will follow but not before I hear something that makes me smile.

"That was hot" And guess who says it. None other than Christian Sloane.

As soon as I get to the library I find a quiet spot and sit down. That's when the adrenaline rush wears off and the weight of what I have just done hits me like a thunder bolt. If Tristan decided to ignore my demand and retaliate for humiliating him all hell would surely break loose.

"Shit Trace do you know what you've just done?"Scola asks sitting next to me.

I just drop my head onto my hands and lie on the desk with my eyes closed.

Of course I know. I just provoked a lion from its sleep. I messed with a egotistical maniacal jerk. This isn't gonna end well. Four years of maintaining a low profile all gone due to a stupid attachment to a parking spot. The silence stretches for a while and I think Scola has left only for her to call me.

"Trace, I think you should see this."She calls out standing by the window overlooking the parking lot.

I stand from my seat and the sight before me make me smile.

"Looks like he does follow instructions after all."I comment feeling proud of myself.

Scola just smiles nodding. I knew Tristan wouldn't do it himself but at least he asked someone to do it.

Just before the warning bell for class rings one of the freshmen that did the switch brings me my keys with a note.

"Happy now?" Is all it says and that's all I needed to hear. Looks like standing up for your self and what you believe in isn't so bad after all.

"That was stupid but at least you got what you wanted. Now can we please go to class before any more drama happens."Scola requests.

"Let's go."I declare following her out of the library.

Nothing exciting happens for the rest of the day. Much to Scola's disappointment the cheerleaders are back so Christians table is fully occupied meaning we have sit somewhere else during lunch. Not that I mind but Scola keeps glancing at their table with a longing look on her face. I think her crush on Jesse may have escalated to another level after sharing a table during lunch yesterday. I feel sorry for her but she brought it upon herself by crushing on him.

That mornings incident surprisingly doesn't bring me any unwanted attention. Maybe because a jock was involved so you speak about them and you sign your own death warranty, not literally of course.

Since it was a Tuesday Scola has drama practise after school so I don't wait for her. At end of the day I just want to go home change and have a nice riding session at the towns racing track. Yes yes I know it's illegal but my dad got me a permit so I was allowed. It was one of the perks of being a daddy's girl.

Just as I'm taking out my helmet from the back someone calls out my name. As usual I ignore, put my back pack in the seat and remove the stand. As I'm inserting the key in the ignition someone places their hand on my shoulder and from the weight of it I assume it's a guy.

"Please get your hand off me before I break those fingers." I grit out without turning around.

I didn't like being touched especially by people who I was unfamiliar with.

Christian steps in front of me hands held up in surrender. It took my by surprise seeing him approach me because we didn't talk. We haven't talked to each other in about ten years.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you."He apologizes.

"What do you want Christian?" I ask not in the mood for whatever he wanted to tell me.

He looks at my bored expression before a small smile appears on his lips and he shakes his head.

"Nothing, I just wanted to say that what you did today was pretty brave and stupid at the same time."He replies.

I didn't like being called stupid even if that person had called me brave first so his words didn't sit right with me.

I scoff" Look here Sloane if I wanted your opinion I would have asked for it but since I didn't then I have no idea why you're giving it to me."I reply and start my engine drowning off his reply.

I put on my helmet but before I drop my visor I wink at him before riding away.

Did I just wink at Christian Sloane? Why would I do that? I mentally scold myself. I must be coming down with a flu or something because something is totally wrong with me.

I mean Christian has bee my sworn enemy since fourth grade. I cant afford to soften at this time when I'm just a few months away from kissing him and my whole high school life goodbye.

I decide to clear my head before I get into an accident. Even I know better than to ride with an occupied mind. Instead of going home first I passed my the racing track to clear my head and ride off all the frustration I was feeling. Riding always helped me calm down because when I was on my bike, riding against the wind, I was at peace.
