Marinette and Adrien were still going through a lot of process of knowing each other's identities. Marinette was pretty much overreacting with how she constantly rejects Cat Noir's love for....well....himself behind the mask. But she felt worse for treating him badly with the trashcan. Adrien also felt bad for ignoring Ladybug's admiration during the time when he was Mister Bug again, Lady Noire was being clumsy with her impression.
"Adrien, it seems like we both messed up big time with each other, hurting each other badly and the last was me nearly killing you as Dark Bug," Marinette said.
Adrien raised a brow that she forgot to mention that she became overly geeky with the imposter Adrien by giving him the dog miraculous which resulted in losing all the miraculous in the first place when she should've offered Cat Noir's helping paw but never taken it.
"Not to mention my geekiness with you resulted in the loss of all miraculous by Felix and not letting you help. I'm such a horrible girlfriend!" Marinette broke down.
"No, it was also mine too when I relied on him by switching places with me. I tried so hard to listen when he told me to stop letting my father tell me everything what to do" Adrien held her hands.
"I'm still a horrible guardian. I never wanted to be in the first place" Marinette said.
"But it is, milady. Master Fu already guarded the miraculous all his life and he chose you to carry his place for it. We both chased Monarch in the time events and we met Fu in the past. He knew one day we would be the next new holders and he knew you were worthy to guard them" Adrien said.
"But for how long? When I'm 100 years old?" Marinette said.
"I'm a senti-being hybrid and who knows if I'm immortal too" Adrien admitted.
"You knew?!" Marinette exclaimed.
"Of course I knew, princess. I realized why I was being controlled too much by my father and I kept feeling this weird tingle in my body every time he forbids me from almost everything. When Nathalie wore the ring, she gave me a lot of confidence to let me do what I wanted" Adrien explained how he knew.
"That explains. Argos explained to me through the camera slideshow sentimonster. But given you both age, it's likely you're mortal" Marinette said.
"Yes. My mother told me the truth, even if she knew I wouldn't take it well but she said I'm more human by heart, not by how I am. And my father, I'll never forgive him for what he did to me. He thinks he tried to be a good father but he never tried hard enough. All he cares about is my obedience, that's what" Adrien breathes in to calm down.
"Gabi was more monster than human," Marinette said.
"Why did you let him grant that wish?" Adrien asked.
"I didn't! He used Venom to paralyze me when I tried to offer his hand. Tikki and Plagg tried to warn me that he couldn't be trusted and I let my guard down. I couldn't just arrest him if I had the chance, Adrien. If you knew he was Monarch, you would mentally go angry. I just wanted to protect you from knowing the truth!" Marinette hugged him dearly, feeling responsible for letting Gabriel grant that wish.
Adrien saw how broken Marinette was at that moment, "I'm sorry, I didn't know he would trick you"
"I'm only a fool, I'm too gullible and don't deserve forgiveness" Marinette sobs on his chest.
"Milady, I always constantly forgive you. I didn't give up or abandon you when you lost all the miraculous. Abandoning you would be selfish of me because we are Ladybug and Cat Noir. Stronger together, remember?" Adrien held her chin up.
Marinette still looked unsure, "But we got that liar on the loose still. And the risk she might discover our identities"
"She almost did but we had our friend Blu Tembo to erase her memories. She can't remember it. We are not the only ones in Paris with the miraculous, princess" Adrien said.
"I just hope she doesn't figure out we're in Atlantis. Since my Senti-twin sister is taking our place" Marinette said.
"She may be a liar, master of disguise, but she doesn't have confidence like us, princess. It's been months that our asses remained un-whooped" Adrien chuckled.
"Yeah, of course," Marinette smiled a little.
"That's my happy princess I know," Adrien said.
"You always love to see me happy. How many times have you always cheered me up, kitty?" Marinette asked.
"A lot," Adrien said.
They saw one servant bring them some Atlantean food.
"Uh, thanks" Marinette saw it was just plain fish.
"Looks good to me," Adrien said.

In the other ruined room of the temple city, it was strange that Atlanteans have mirrors because reflection mirrors were invented and founded in 1835 by a German chemist Justus von Liebig.
"This is strange. In ancient times they never invented mirrors" Pelle still looking at the gills on his neck.
"Well, the mirrors in 6000 BCE were made of polished copper than glass," Luna said.
"That figures. It seems they were before him with glass mirrors" Pelle said.
"At least these don't bring out our counterparts from the other universe," Luna said.
"Well, our friends told us their story. Who knows what ours are like if they ever meet them" Pelle said.
"I'm worried, Chico. Adrien and Marinette are processing a lot. They are barely focused now" Luna said.
"I can't say I blame them. They have been so oblivious of their identities for too long" Pelle said.
"Because they were afraid if one of them got akumatized, Monarch would have known their identities somehow," Luna said.
"Yeah, but our cat friend never became Anti-Cat. But we have to ensure Chrysalis doesn't try it on him like she did on Ladybug to make her Dark Bug" Pelle said.
"That's what worries me, Chico. The kwami of destruction is too powerful to destroy mankind. Gatito told me about his trauma. He was so vulnerable about it" Luna said.
"That the Pandora box released the dangers he had to sink the continent to keep it from spreading" Pelle looks through the painting on the walls, seeing several shark mutants stand before Chompp, "But what threat could endanger Atlantis now?" Pelle wondered.
"The furies that are somewhere out there now," Luna said.
"Yeah, maybe so," Pelle said.
"The King obviously looked scared at the mention of furies," Luna said.
"Ja, since his ancestor foolishly released them" Pelle nodded, looking at how the furies may have looked.
"Si. Su mundo está ahora en un infierno. Their world is in a living hell. It's like it feeds on negative emotions. Just like Hawk Moth used to prey negative emotions through victims to akumatize. Pandora's box was given by Zeus, he told her not to open it but curiosity got the best of her. And so did the king of Atlantis. Those creatures are out there now and we gotta put them back in that box to make sure no one repeats history again" Luna said.
"Yes. But they can be anywhere" Pelle said.
"We gotta ask the king if he has that cursed box. But it seems he doesn't want to talk about it. Especially how he almost tried to kill Gatito" Luna said.
"It's worth a shot" Pelle agreed.
"Latinas are very feisty, Chico. Watch and learn" Luna said.
"I gotta warn ya, she's spicy like a jaguar's roar," Clawws said.
"I know. But remember, an elephant never forgets" Pelle said.
"Heh, just don't get hit in the head too hard, Chico. Let's go see how the Paris duo are doing. They better not go loca for this. They are still niños" Luna said before walking out.
"Alright" Pelle goes with her to meet up with Adrien and Marinette.
-
The young teens were now relaxing by a hot spring near the hut, dipping their feet in.
"Ah, they probably are getting the stress out, Chico" Luna found them.
"Clearly," Pelle said.
"Let's join, chico. Obviously, this lost civilization is beautiful. I don't know how the landmass isn't melting in lava but it could be Poseidon's power or something" Luna walks towards the hot springs to join, "Hola, niños"
"Hola" Both Adrien and Marinette greeted them.
"We were wondering where you guys were. Oh, mangos" Pelle grabbed a few.
Luna backs away from mangos because of something, "Uh, no gracias. I'm....great. I'm technically allergic to mangos" Luna said shyly.
"Okay then," Pelle said and took a bite from his.
"You never told us you have allergies," Adrien said.
"Heh, like I learned you're allergic to pigeons, gatito" Luna chuckled.
"Yeah, hence why I hate fighting Mr. Pigeon," Adrien said.
"That pigeon whisperer? Heh, let's hope it will be his last" Pelle joins in the hot spring by dipping his bare feet.
"So, are you feeling better now, niños?" Luna asked.
"Better. Just getting used to this paradise" Marinette said.
"That's great to hear," Pelle said.
"And your discovery of each other's identities? We were worried you would have a lot of pressure without thinking it's a dream" Luna said.
"It took a lot to process," Adrien said.
"And it brought me memories of the times I rejected my kitty for...well....his other side," Marinette said.
"You two are so oblivious for way too long!" Plagg complained.
"I know. Same hair and voice" Adrien replied.
Luna gestures to Pelle that maybe they should put the mission earlier on hold so that their friends can have all the time to get used to their identities until they are ready enough to focus on something.
-
Later; in the room, Adrien was staring at the ceiling which was strange but amazing that it was a cosmic effect of the galaxy. Thinking over between Marinette and Ladybug as the same person in one. No wonder his feelings got mixed up when he thought of his lady being the one while his princess was just a friend. But when it was switched by falling in love with his princess, his feelings for his lady disappeared like he moved on from her. But now both of them being the same person, he no longer had to choose.
He smiled before drifting off to sleep, trying to get comfortable since he was still adjusting to his gills.
In the dream, he was once again interrupted by his father.
"You need to leave my life alone, father. I will never forgive you. You are far from ever being forgiven" Adrien glared.
"You can't escape me, Adrien. Even in death" Gabriel said.
"Oh, like you couldn't escape my cataclysm spreading up your ass because you were so scared to die until you did by the wish sacrifice instead of letting the girl I love help you" Adrien crossed his arms.
"This is not my son I raised!" Gabriel said.
"No, mother raised me better, you only care about going after the miraculous worldwide than the family" He looks at the portrait of him and his father, hating it so much, "You want to keep me away from the public. Take me out of school and put me in private lessons so no one will hear about poor little Gabriel's son. Gossip is a terrible thing, father. It spreads fast like wildfire, uncontrollable and deadly. The real reason you're doing this isn't to protect me, you're not that valiant. You want to hide me away. Lock me up from ever seeing the world again. You never did it out of love. Even if you did bring Mom back while you're the sacrifice, Ladybug had to make a lie to Paris so I don't have to be known as the son of a supervillain. And because of you, Cerise has the butterfly miraculous! The mission is never gonna be over!" Adrien threw the case at Gabriel but he ducked, smashing it against the wall.
"It is far from over! You can't save those you love!" Gabriel taunted him.
"I may not be fully human but you're an irredeemable monster by heart!" Adrien yelled and glared angrily, "Someone once told me that sometimes pretending to be something doesn't make them have a real life. Vivir una vida falsa no hace que tu vida sea lo suficientemente real" Adrien spoke in Spanish.
"Is that even Latin?" Gabriel criticizes the language he barely even knows.
"No. It means 'Living a fake life doesn't make your life real enough'." Adrien translated, "Your real life was Gabi Grassette, your fake life was Gabriel Agreste. When a person is born with the name given, that's what makes a person have a life without choosing to abandon it. Agreste never existed but since I'm the real Agreste, you are still Grassette" Adrien explained his fact.
"Don't even call me that!" Gabriel said angrily.
"You see? You and Cerise hate honesty" Adrien scoffed, "Like you couldn't accept mine that I already built my own happiness. You couldn't see me growing up and learning to live. That's why living in the past makes you forget what I've been doing all along. I was forced to take care of myself without a father"
"Well until your mother came back," Gabriel said.
"Plagg has been more than a friend to me. He was supportive like a father would be!" Adrien said.
"Mom still carried that burden that she didn't want to be brought back but she knew I needed her. She was very disappointed in you for what you did" Adrien said.
"How disappointing," Gabriel said.
"The price is your soul now damned; you can't ever be resurrected without a body in the living world" Adrien sneered.
"Don't make that sneer look at me again!" Gabriel yelled.
"Oh, I can. You're dead and I'm free. From what I see now, you never let me be myself. Mom wanted me to be free, but you kept me prisoner! Every time I do something good, it is never enough for you. Marinette's parents approve of her like real good parents, but not you. You don't approve of me in anything! Just because I'm not your real human son, isn't it?!" Adrien punched him in the gut.
"AAAGH!" Gabriel was forced back by another blow.
"And yeah, you would certainly approve your real flesh and blood daughter!" Adrien chuckled, "I know you used her to spy on me to separate my friends. But that was a bad move when you trusted a pathological liar who doesn't care who she hurts. Just like you don't care who you hurt like me for example. You already did hurt me by giving me that nightmare. You enjoyed my suffering, didn't you?"
"That's what happens when someone disobeys me!" Gabriel said.
"The reason I disobey you is because you abused me every time!" Adrien glared.
"I was doing what's best for you. That's what a parent does for their kids!" Gabriel said.
"You never did! Get the hell out of my sight!" Adrien yelled.
Adrien woke up with a scream before realizing he was back in reality.
"Adrien, what's wrong?" Marinette woke up.
"Nothing! It's nothing" Adrien quickly said.
"Another nightmare, I guess. Now let's get back to sleep" Marinette said.
"Princess, sleep with me please," Adrien said.
"Of course, Kitty" Marinette joins him in his bed.
"My father is visiting in my dreams. He won't leave me alone. I'm not letting him ruin my life again" Adrien nibbled her neck.
"He's dead in real life and no chance at being resurrected with no body," Marinette said with a moan.
"When we are older, I always dreamed of having our own kittens, milady. I always wanted to be a father, a real good father. I know I sound like I want this now but we are still young. Maybe that's what I want to do with my life. A new family with you" Adrien kept nibbling.
"I always wished for three kids," Marinette said.
"Ah, three little kittens?" Adrien flirted.
"Or Bugkittens" Marinette kissed him.
"Meow, hard to kiss your neck when you have gills, bugaboo" Adrien purred.
"Yeah, like a shark," Marinette said.
