After they all had managed to connect in various ways, he was the one who eventually pushed them to meet each other face to face and ended up paying for a meal for all of them. — He's a very introverted person who requires time to recharge, so he spends a lot of time either in his dorm room by himself or in the presence of his bandmates with his focus put on something else.
— He tries his best to keep an eye on all of his bandmates, but he makes sure to keep an extra close eye on Sunny to make sure that the oldest takes the time to take care of himself. — He was born and raised in Busan, South Korea.
— Both of his parents dealt with a lot of personal struggles when he was young, which eventually led to them sending him to live with his Aunt, Uncle, and cousins. It was supposed to be a temporary living situation but he never ended up moving back in with his parents. (Lost Boys Diaries)
— His Aunt and Uncle always showed a clear preference for their biological child and ended up treating him badly. At the time, he was very weak and too scared to stand up for himself so, he reluctantly took all of the abuse at home and ended up taking out all of his anger on his classmates at the time. — Music was one of the main things that got him through the tough things he went through during his childhood. When he would finally be able to escape to his small room at night, he'd spend hours teaching himself how to play the guitar he'd brought with him from home, which is a big part of what helped him get through everything. — His only sibling is his older brother, who he's always looked up to. His older brother has always been extremely smart and incredibly kind to both him and everyone else, so the two quickly bonded and spent a lot of time with each other growing up. — When he was younger, most of his friends were girls because he often got too intimidated by guys to approach any of them.

— The name Shai was originally a nickname that his family gave him because of how reserved he was when he was younger, but he eventually adopted it as his name (albeit with a different spelling). — He has autism. He was diagnosed when he was young and has been open about having it since his debut. Even though it means he has put more effort into doing things to make life easier for him, he's never wished that he wasn't autistic because he likes being different and being able to see things from another perspective. But, he does feel bad about the accommodations he needs at times.

— He was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee.
— He grew up surrounded by music. His Dad was a Drummer who played for a variety of different bands that passed through the city, while his Mom owned a popular music store in town where she was especially known for fixing broken instruments. (Interview)

— He's the youngest of three and credits his older siblings as having a lot of influence on how he ended up and the kind of music he liked listening to.

It was something he tried to keep a secret because he didn't want any of the members to worry about him, but he eventually had no choice but to reveal it to both the group and North Stars.
— People assume that he's flirting with them because of how friendly he is, but he rarely is. He says that he just likes to stay positive to keep other people's spirits and moods up; and that he couldn't flirt on purpose to save his life.
— His biggest love language is physical touch but he doesn't like asking for it from other people, so he usually leaves it up to other people to initiate.
— He loves gum and always has a pack of it with him.
— It was only after joining Rebel Entertainment that he became interested in acting.
— He doesn't like wearing anything long-sleeved or layered when he's performing because he gets overheated easily while he's playing the drums.
— He's dealt with a lot of relationship rumors but has always publicly denied them when they pop up.
