Chapter Twenty Two-Broken
↬Chapter Twenty Two-Broken↬
↬↬↬
I only own Jade/Camilla and my ideas.
Once the purple smoke cleared the air, Camilla had risen up from her crouched position, as she rose she felt a small but sharp pain going through her body. She shrugged off the pain before heading towards Granny's in hopes to find both of her friends that may not want to see her.
Camilla's pace soon went into a run as she neared the Diner. She noticed the male and female standing side by side as Ruby hugged Mary Margaret.
"Snow? David?" Camilla called out to the two, this had gained Ruby, Granny, the Dwarves and both Mary Margaret and David. They turned and faced the girl.
"You." Mary Margaret said at a whisper though she could easily hear it, "You...you...help..."
David shot his wife a look, "Snow, what do you mean?"
Camilla held her head low as she said, "I helped Regina with the curse," David looked at her with wide eyes, "and I was the one who stabbed you. But I didn't come here to tell you this, I-i came here to tell you that I had no choice."
Ruby stepped forward as she spoke, "but you betrayed us all, you sided with Regina, you could've gotten all of us killed, and for what?"
"She's got a point, why should we trust you after all you betrayed all of us?" Leroy piped in.
"You betrayed us?!" David asked in a yell as he gave her a look.
"Traitor! You're just lucky we haven't killed you yet." Granny spoke with a hint of sarcasm.
Camilla breaths became slightly heavy as past memories flooded into her mind, "Because if I didn't she would've killed you guys and me! You don't know what it's like to be torn from your love for thirty-eight years! Yes, I betrayed you but all I want is to get back to my love!" Camilla snapped, they were taken back by the anger in her voice. To them, they only snapped at them twice and if they had to be honest, it scared them.
Leroy and the others turned into a small group as they changed the subject, Leroy asked, "The Curse, it's broken?"
"It would appear so," David responded as the two clasped hands.
"So what do we do now?" Ruby asked.
"Now? Now I find my daughter." Mary Margaret responded as Camilla stood awkwardly there with her head low.
"So it's true," Emma spoke up. Camilla hadn't noticed the blondes arrival as well as the small boys.
Mary Margaret came towards Emma as she touched her face, then huger her as tears were in her eyes, "You found us." David had joined the hug with Emma as well.
"Grandpa?" Henry asked as he looked up to David, Mary Margaret laughed at the comment and a small smile grew on Camilla's face.
"Yeah, kid. I suppose so." David smiled as he hugged Henry.
"She did it. She saved you." Henry stated.
"She saved all of us." Mary Margaret corrected.
"I... Well..." Emma stuttered.
"Uh, then why are we still here?" Leroy questioned. The same question had gone through everyone's mind, what were they still in the land without magic?
"That, my friend, is an excellent question," David responded.
Mr Clark Sneezed before saying, "And what was that smoke?"
"Who did this?" Doc asked.
"And what was that smoke?" Bashful repeated.
"And why?" Walter asked.
"And what was that smoke?" Happy asked the same question, yet again.
"Magic." Mother Superior responded as she joined the group, "It's here. I can feel it." Mary Margaret touched her hands at the thought.
"Magic? In Storybrooke?" Henry questioned, "But you're the Blue Fairy. Do something magical."
"It's not quite that simple, Henry. No wand. No Fairy Dust. Matters are complicated now." Blue responded to the small boy.
"Let's go to the person responsible for bringing it, the Queen," Leroy spoke as the other dwarves nod and voice agreement.
"It wasn't her, nimwhit, knowing her after the curse was broken she went back home. She didn't do it, I know she didn't." Camilla spoke up as she joined the group despite the looks of which she gained.
"Camilla's right, it wasn't Regina." Emma agreed with the female.
Within the main street of StoryBrooke stood Emma, Henry, her parents, the dwarves, Mother Superior, Ruby, Granny, and Camilla as they walked down the street.
"Is there anything that you wanted to ask us? I mean, you must have questions." Mary Margaret asked the blonde as they walked.
"The only questions I have are for Mr Gold. Why did he double-cross me, and what did he do to this town?" Emma responded back with another question.
"Uh... Shouldn't we talk about "it" first?" Mary Margaret commented
"What?" Emma asked as she looked at her mom in slight confusion.
"Us. Your life. Everything?" Mary Margaret responded.
"Can we do "everything" maybe later? Like, with a glass of wine. Or several bottles." Emma told.
"I know it's a lot to take in. For all of us." David commented, getting into the conversation.
"And we don't want to push, but we've waited for this moment for so long..." Mary Margaret started.
Emma cut off Mary Margaret as she told, "Yeah, so have I! I've thought about this moment my entire life. I've imagined who you might be. But of all the scenarios that I concocted, my parents being... I-I just need a little time. That's-that's all." Shortly after this was said, they all heard some sort of commotion.
"Snow?" David asked in slight confusion as many townspeople, including Dr Whale, were running through the streets. Archie had run to approach the group.
"There you are. Come with me, I need your help. Dr Whale's whipped everyone into a frenzy. They're going to Regina's house. They're gonna kill her!" Archie explained in a hurry.
"Great, let's watch," Leroy muttered as Camilla nudged the man. Despite him giving her a look, she returned it and in an instant,, he looked away. He knew not to continue, he knew what she could do and he didn't want to push it.
"No. No, we cannot stoop to her level. No matter who she is or what she's done, killing her is wrong." Archie told.
"He's right." Henry said as he turned to Emma, "Please. She's still my mom."
Emma looked at Mary Margaret "We have to stop them."
"If the Blue Fairy is right and magic is here, Regina could have her powers back. They could be marching into a slaughter." David blurted out as him and Mary Margaret share a glance, nodding. The group took off down the street, following the townspeople towards the mayors' house.
"Open up!" Whale yelled as he banged on the door, "Open up or we're coming in!" He banged on the the door again this time it opened revealing Regina who held a small smug smirk on her face.
"Can I help you?" Regina asked, innocently.
"That smirk isn't gonna last forever, Regina. You took everything from us. And now..." Whale trailed off.
"What? Now you're gonna kill me?" Regina asked, finishing off Whale's sentence.
"Eventually. But first, you need to suffer." Whale said.
Regina stepped outside and shoved Dr Whale, "Listening to you has been enough suffering for all of us." She turned her attention to the crowd, "That's right. You wanted to see your Queen? Well, my dears." She slowly raised her arms and enunciating, "Here she is!" She flung her hands forward and the crowd cowers and ducks, all clearly expecting magic. However, nothing happens. Regina looked shocked and the crowd recovered.
"She's powerless!" A male called out.
"What?" Regina muttered as she looked at her hands in confusion.
"Get her!" Another voice called out as Dr, Whale and the crowd move toward her.
"Now," Whale began before he shoved her up against a column, "where were we?"As Dr Whale raised his hands toward Regina's throat, Emma and the group arrived and rushed through the crowd.
"Let her go! Let her go! Let her go!" Emma yelled as she grabbed Dr Whale's arm and pulled it back.
"Why should I listen to you?" Whale spat.
"Because I am still the Sheriff," Emma responded to the man.
"Because she saved you. All of you!" David called out, addressing the crowd.
As this was going on, Camilla noticed the confused but dirty looks of which she had gained from near enough everyone within the crowd.
"And because no matter what Regina did, it does not justify this!" Mary Margaret called out.
"We are not murderers here," Emma said.
"Well Camilla is, or should I say, Jade." A voice called out.
"Well, we're not from this world," Whale told, ignoring the comment made though it didn't seem to bother it. Camilla, on the other hand, shot a glare to whoever said it as she held onto Henry's hand.
"Yeah, well, you're in it now." Emma commented.
David put himself between Dr. Whale and Regina, "Okay, Whale. We're done."
"Back off! You're not my Prince." Whale spat.
David paused for a short while, "Who are you, Whale?"
"That's my business." Whale told.
"Well, my business is making sure this town doesn't go to hell, so whether or not I'm your Prince isn't the issue. We have a lot to figure out. And this isn't the way to do it." David said.
Mary Margaret moved next to Regina, "And Regina's death won't provide any answers. She needs to be locked up. For her safety, and more importantly, for ours."
Within the walls of the Sheriff Department. Emma, Mary Margaret, Henry, and Camilla were present as David locked Regina into a cell
"So, I'm a prisoner now?" Regina asked as she came towards the bars.
David ignored the question as he asked, "If the curse is broken, why didn't we go back?"
"Because there's nothing to go back to. That land is gone." Regina told though Camilla rolled her eyes.
"We should get to Gold." Mary Margaret spoke as her and the group leaves the room. Regina eyes the lock on the door, holding out her hand as if attempting to use magic.
Mr. Gold entered the room as he said, "Magic is different here, dearie."
"I noticed. I assume this is all your doing." Regina told.
"Most things are." Gold corrected.
"Get to it, Rumple. What do you want? You here to finish the job?" Regina asked the male.
"No, no, no. You're safe from me." Gold responded as he shook his head.
"I feel so relieved." Regina said, though it sounded sarcastic.
"I made a promise to someone that I won't kill you." Gold informed.
"Who could elicit that from you?" Regina asked, curious.
"Belle."
"She's alive?" Regina asked acting all innocent.
"You are a dreadful liar." Gold commented.
"I could have killed her. But I didn't." Regina pointed out.
"Yeah, you did much worse than that. You kept her alive, so you could kill her when it suited you. A fate worse than death. Which, incidentally, is exactly what I've got in store for you." Gold said as he reached through the bars of the cell, grabbing hold of Regina's hand and pulling it to him. He produces the amulet and presses it against her open palm.
Regina gasped at the pain, "Is that..."
"Yes, dearie. The one thing no one can escape. Destiny. And I promise, yours is particularly unpleasant." Gold smirked as he released her. Regina pulled back her hand and glared at him. He chuckled, "Oh.
Within the the woods stood Mr. Gold as he dropped the amulet on the ground in a small clearing, his dagger in his hand.
Mr.Gold held the dagger aloft, "The Dark One summons thee!" Gold stabbed the Wraith rose up with the amulet around its neck. the dagger into the ground near the amulet.
Meanwhile in the cell of the Sheriff Department was Regina, who shot up; gasping at the sudden pain of which spread across the palm of her hand. She looked at her hand; The mark of the Wraith has appeared on it. She stared at it as hurt flickered across her face.
Emma closed the door of Ruby's car, with Henry inside, as David and Mary Margaret look on. Camilla stood behind the two as she looked around.
"Keep him safe, Ruby." Emma said as both Ruby and Henry drove off.
"Don't push it, Snow." David warned his wife.
"I won't." Mary Margaret said.
"You guys ready?" Emma asked as she stood by her supposed parents.
"We need to talk." Mary Margaret blurted out.
"I- Well, I don't... I just- I don't wanna talk." Emma said as they all walked down the street.
"But I do, okay? Gold can wait. I can't. You're my daughter. And I wanna talk to you. I know that we have talked. But we didn't know that we were talking. And we talked about things we probably shouldn't have even talked about. One-night stands and the like." Mary Margaret pointed out to the blonde.
"One-night stands?" David asked, rather shocked.
"Whale." Mary Margaret simply said.
"Whale?" David spoke as he looked at his wife with wide eyes.
"We were cursed. That is neither here nor there. The point is, we did not know that we were mother and daughter. And now we do. And, so, please, let's talk." Mary Margaret told.
Camilla patted the man's back as he was still standing shocked at the information of which he had just received. Despite the small grudge the Prince had on his friend, he was still appreciative that she showed concerned about him.
"Okay. What do you want to talk about?" Emma asked.
"We're together, finally. And I can't help but think you're not happy about it." Mary Margaret responded.
"Oh, I am. But, see, here's the thing. No matter what the circumstances, for 28 years I only knew one thing, that my parents sent me away." Emma spoke with a hint of sadness in her voice.
"We did that to give you your best chance." Mary Margaret told.
"You did it for everyone. Because that's who you are. Leaders, heroes, princes and princesses. And that's great and amazing, and wonderful, but it doesn't change the fact that for my entire life, I've been alone." Emma told.
"But if we hadn't sent you away, you would've been cursed, too." Mary Margaret pointed out.
"But we would've been together. Which curse is worse?" Emma asked as there was a pause, "Come on. Let's just... Let's go find Gold." She walked off. As they gaze after her, Mary Margaret and David join hands with each other as Camilla looked at them awkwardly.
Gold stood in his shot as he made some tea as Emma, Mary Margaret, David, and Camilla arrived.
"What can I do for you?" Gold asked as they came closer to where he stood.
"What you can do is tell us what you did." Emma responded.
"I'm sorry, you're gonna have to be more specific." Gold innocently said.
"Oh I'm sorry, I though you knew." Camilla sarcastically said.
"You double-crossed Emma, you, uh, took your-uh-potion from her." Mary Margaret told.
"And did who-knows-what to this town." David said as he carried on the sentence.
"And worst of all you risked Henry's life." Emma pointed out.
"Well, that is quite a litany of grievances, now, isn't it?" Gold countered.
"Maybe I don't need answers. Maybe I just need to punch you in the face." Emma spoke.
"I second that!" Camilla said as she rose her hand.
"Oh." Gold released a small laugh, "Really, dearie?" Gold came from behind the counter, "Allow me to answer your questions with some of my own, all right? Did your dear boy, Henry, survive?"
"Yeah." Emma nodded.
"Is the curse broken? And let's see here, Miss Swan, how long have you been searching for your parents? Looks like you're reunited. Seems like rather a punch in the face, I deserve a thank-you." Gold spoke as Camilla rolled her eyes.
"Twist my words all you want, what was the purple haze that you brought?" Emma asked the man.
"You know," Gold began and with a flourish, "Magic." As this was said, Camilla felt a slight tingle in her arm, it felt like pins and needles but was continually like a cramp, though it didn't feel like either, it felt as if she couldn't move her arm at all.
"Why?" Mary Margaret asked.
"Not telling." Gold responded, as this was said there was a rumbling; the store shook. This had snapped Camilla out of her thought and small pain.
"What the hell was that?" Emma asked as David and Mary Margaret look out the door window. The Wraith was heard, wailing, and a strong wind was blowing along the main street. Streetlights flicker and sparks flew, "That is my gift to you. That is gonna take care of Regina."
"Emma, come on!" Mary Margaret called out to her daughter.
"We need to go take care of this." David spoke.
"We're not done." Emma told the older man.
"Oh, I know. You still owe me a favour." Gold said as the four exit the building and Mr. Gold was left to continue to make his tea.
The Wraith flew down the main street towards Regina's cell. Regina held her marked hand as the lights flicker within the station.
"Hello? Who's there?" Regina asked as the Wraith appeared. It ripped off the door to Regina's cell. With a gesture of its hand, it begins sucking out Regina's soul. David ran into the building with a chair in his hands.
"Hey!" David asked as he slammed the Wraith with the chair, which it sends flying across the room. David attempted to attack the creature; it sent him flying, too. Camilla and Mary Margaret attempted to enter the fray and the Wraith moved a desk, making her step back. The creature then sent the desk toward David, who narrowly avoids it, then continued to suck out Regina's soul. Mary Margaret, held a can in hand and sneaked up to the Wraith.
"Over here!" Mary Margaret called out as she used a lighter and the canister to creates a flame which was directed at the creature. The wraith then flew out the window with a screech. Regina made a choked noise; Emma rushed to help her followed by Camilla, though she stopped herself.
"What the hell was that thing?" Emma asked.
"A Wraith. A soul sucker." Regina responded.
"Did I-" Mary Margaret trailed off.
Regina continued her sentence, "-Kill it? No. It's regenerating. It'll be back. It doesn't stop until it devours its prey." Regina showed her marked hand, "Me."
"So, how do we kill it?" Emma asked.
"There's no way. Can't kill something that's already dead." Regina told them.
"Sounds like my soul." Camilla muttered though Mary Margaret shot her a look.
Ignoring what Camilla had said, Emma said, "Then we have a problem."
"No, we don't. Regina does." David bluntly said, Regina's eyes widened as she asked, "What?"
"David?" Mary Margaret sighed.
"You've gotta be kidding me." Camilla sarcastically said.
"You wanna let her die?" Emma asked.
"Why not? Then it goes away. Then we're safe." David counted.
"It's quite the example you're setting for your daughter, there." Regina bluntly stated.
"No. You don't get to judge us!" David yelled as his voice rose.
"Let me ask you something, where do you think that thing came from?" Regina asked them before continuing, "Gold."
"I made a promise to Henry. She's not dying." Emma said as Regina looked shocked at the blonde.
"If it can't be killed, what do you suggest?" Camilla asked.
"Send it somewhere it can't hurt anyone." Regina responded.
They all went to the Town hall but mainly Regina's office, Regina set down the box which contained Jefferson's hat on a table and opens it as Emma looked at it while Camilla stood on the other side of Regina. If Camilla had to be honest, she didn't want to be round Mary Margaret and David, she had a feeling that they didn't want to see her at the moment or maybe ever.
"Did Henry really ask you to protect me?" Regina asked the blonde.
"Yes." Emma nodded as Regina smiled slightly and took the hat out of its box, "The hat. You had it all along."
"What do you mean?" Regina asked as she gave Emma a small look.
"That's Jefferson's hat." Emma stated.
Regina paused for a moment before asking, "Who's Jefferson?"
"Lies, I saw you talking to him." Camilla blurted out as Regina hit the girl's arm.
David entered the room with Mary Margaret as they both carried brooms, "Torches. For when it comes back. I know it's old-fashioned, but so am I."
"So, how does it work?" Mary Margaret asked Regina.
The group walked into the main hall as Regina carried the hat, "It will open a portal to our land. All we have to do is send the Wraith in there."
"Oh, yeah, just that." David sarcastically said.
"I don't understand, I thought our land was gone." Mary Margaret said as she gave a small confused look as David started to light the brooms.
"It is. But sending it to a place that no longer exists... Well, that's banishing it to oblivion." Regina explained as she began to attempt to spin the hat; the lights flickered and the Wraith's wailing was heard between them.
"Regina..." Emma trailed off.
Regina was still attempting to spin the hat, "I'm trying." The wailing was heard yet again; the doors to the main hall blew open as The Wraith entered the hall, David readies himself to fight it with a torch on one side of a railing; Regina continued to attempt to spin the hat with Emma and Mary Margaret on the other side. Camilla stood with a lit broom on the side with the hat so that if it came over, she'd be able to protect the Mayor.
"Regina." Emma said.
"I know." Regina responded on a huff as David battled the Wraith; Mary Margaret poured alcohol along the railing.
"David!" Mary Margaret called out
David closed the gate of the railing and set it alight with his torch, "Hurry!"
"David! You're going to get yourself killed!" Camilla called out.
"Last time I checked you tried to kill me!" David spat. Camilla just simply rolled her eyes.
"It's not working." Regina spoke as David continued to slash at the wraith with his torch. Regina still attempted to spin the hat before calling out, "It's not working!"
"What is the problem?" Emma asked.
"Magic. It's different here." Regina told.
"Now would be the time!" David called out as Emma touched Regina's arm. The hat span, opening a portal. David was knocked back, and the Wraith headed for Regina, standing between it and the portal with Emma.
"It's coming!" David called out.
"Regina!" Emma yelled as she pushed her out of the way. The Wraith is sucked into the portal, but as it disappears, it grabs Emma's ankle and pulls her in too, Camilla ran and attempted to try and catch onto Emma's hand but in doing so, she fell into the portal as well.
"NOOOO!!" Mary Margaret yelled as she ran towards the hat.
"NO!" David yelled.
"I'm not losing her again!" Mary Margaret told.
"Neither am I." David said as he rose, Mary Margaret jumped into the portal as David attempted to follow, but the portal closed before he could follow, he simply landed on top of the hat.
David, got up from the floor, as he crushed the hat from where he landed on it. Regina stood shocked as he confronted her about what had happened.
"No. Where are they?" David asked her.
"I have no idea." Regina responded.
"Are they dead?" David asked her as he approached her.
"The curse, it destroyed all the lands-" Regina began before David cut off Regina, yelling, "ARE THEY DEAD!?"
"I don't know!" Regina spoke.
"I should've killed you myself!" David spat as he took a step closer.
"Well, then, what's stopping you?" Regina retorted as she shoved him back; magic slammed him against the wall; vines from the wallpaper hold him in place just off the ground, choking him, "You think you're some heroic Prince? Please. You're nothing but the son of a shepherd. I should've killed you when I could. And now... Now I can."
Henry entered the main hall with Ruby, "Mom?"
"Henry, what are you doing here?" Regina asked as she looked at the small boy.
Ignoring his mothers question he asked, "What are you doing?"
Regina walked over to him, "It's okay. You're safe now." The vines released David and he fell to the floor. Ruby rushed over to aid him.
"Wh-where's my mom? Where's-" Henry trailed off in confusion.
"-They're gone. They fell through a portal. They're... Henry, I'm sorry." Regina told the boy.
"No, you're not. You really are the Evil Queen. I don't wanna see you again." Henry harshly spoke.
"No, don't say that. I love you." Regina told Henry.
"Then, prove it. Get Emma, Mary Margaret and Camilla back. And until then, leave me, leave everyone alone." Henry said.
"Where will you go?" Regina asked confused.
"With me." David spoke up as he walked out of the hall with Henry, followed closely by Ruby, leaving Regina alone.
Henry and David entered Mary Margaret's and Emma's apartment. Henry crossed the room and gazed at a photo of the three women sitting on the counter.
"Henry?" David asked, catching the attention of the small boy.
"Yeah?"
"Don't worry. Emma and Mary Margaret - and as much as she hurt and betrayed both Snow and I - and Camilla are alive." David told the small boy.
"How do you know?" Henry asked, though he didn't say anything about David's comment on Camilla as he would've known that when the curse would be broken that both Mary Margaret and David would feel betrayed by what had happened.
"I have faith." David said with a smile.
"But?"
"Henry, come here." David said as he kneeled in front of him, "I will find them. I will always find them."
Within The Enchanted Forest of which survived was Aurora's Palace. Aurora stood there with her head on Phillip as she mourns over his death silently.
"We should leave this place. It's not safe here." Mulan stated as she came close to the mourning princess.
"But the Wraith is gone." Aurora countered.
"There's more. You need to know everything." Mulan began before she paused, "Much has changed in our land since you've been asleep."
"It was less than a year." Aurora told.
"In a manner of speaking. You see, as you slept, and Phillip and I searched for you, something worse happened." Mulan spoke.
"What?" Aurora asked the soldier.
"Are you familiar with Regina, the Queen and her companion, Jade?"
"Yes." Aurora nodded, familiar with the names.
"She cast a curse on this land. A terrible, terrible curse. It ripped everyone away to another world and Jade helped with casting the curse." Mulan explained.
"But we're still here." Aurora said with confusion in her facial expressions and voice.
"This corner of the land was untouched. No one knows why. But something saved us. And for 28 years we were frozen. And then, time started again. The terrible curse's power was weakened. Phillip and I were able to resume our search. We found you. But the land is ravaged with dangers more fearsome than you can imagine. For those of us who remained, we found a safe haven. We must go there now." As Mulan spoke a peace of wood rustling was heard which caught the attention of both Mulan and Aurora, the two approached the hole left by the Wraith, "Something's in there. Stay back."
"What did it bring? What is it? What do you see?" Aurora asked as Mulan lifted up a piece of the rubble, the two women stare at what is lying beneath, "Mulan, what is that?"
"That? That is what brought the Wraith here. That's what killed our Prince." Mulan spoke rather harsh though she could swore that she recognised one of them. They looked at the three women of which laid within the rubble, Emma moved her head slightly as of she was awake.
