Chapter Thirty Nine-Welcome To Storybrooke
↬Chapter Thirty Nine-Welcome To Storybrooke↬
↬↬↬
I only own Jade/Camilla and my ideas.
Death. It's a funny thing really, it takes and it takes, not caring what mess it leaves behind. Not many get to escape it's grasp, yet so many do. For Jade, she was right on Death's front door, ready to be welcomed with open arms, though that didn't happen. She didn't even get the chance to knock on death's door before she felt life coming back to her.
She knew why she had almost been taken by death but she didn't know what brought her back, till she woke up to see how her wound of which help death take her, was no longer there anymore. She had woke up healed. The wound of which was given to her by the leader of a knight group was no longer on her side.
Her brother had explained to her in the morning how her father had healed her. He told her how he begged their father to heal the daughter of which he didn't like much. Jade would have never thought that the father of which hated her would have saved her life.
Though, what their father never had told Jade was the beast of which would have came to take her so that death could finally meet her. A Fury was sent to collect her for an unpaid price of magic. This Fury was sent from the Underworld to take her soul there to rot for eternity.
At the moment, a few weeks after she almost died, and a few days after the Fury had appeared, Jade was currently sat inside her house considering that her father had put up a protection spell so that the Fury wouldn't be able to take her. For the past few days, she had stayed indoors while her father went out, making deals with people along with killing people who didn't pay up.
Baelfire, on the other hand, had stayed by Jade's side throughout it all. He didn't want his sister to fight through this all on her own. He knew that the Fury was out to take her, and he knew the price of the Fury. He managed to hear the conversation between the two while he was meant to be asleep, so he knew way before either of them had gotten the chance to tell them.
"Is it bad that I want to go out?" Jade questioned out loud.
"You know what would happen if you go out, and I don't want to loose you, again." Baelfire told.
Jade smiled at her brother as she pulled him into a hug, "You won't loose me again. Plus if I did ever go, you know that I'll haunt you till the day that you died."
"I know, but if it is safer for you to stay inside, then wouldn't it be best?" Baelfire told with a question.
Jade shrugged, "Father did say it would be safer, but it's been a good few hours since the Fury had tried to break through the protection shield, maybe its given up, gone to pick someone else up who hasn't payed the price of death yet."
"Jade, still, it could be dangerous." Baelfire told.
"Life's dangerous, yet we still live it." Jade shrugged as she then got up and headed towards the door. Baelfire had quickly rushed to stop her from going any further. The youngest didn't want to loose her, not again.
"Bae, I'll be fine. I've got these," Jade told as she then got her daggers out. She then pushed him out of the way as she walked out of the house.
Regina was beside her mothers coffin mourning her mother's death within the family mausoleum. A few moments had passed and Gold had entered the mausoleum.
"Black always was your color." Gold commented.
"I'm here to bury my mother. So if you've come to gloat.." Regina spoke.
Gold cut her off as he said, "-I came to pay my respects." He then placed a flower on top of the coffin, "We had our differences, but Cora will always have a place in my heart."
"You killed her to save your own life." Regina stated.
"Sadly, desperate times call for desperate measures." Gold explained bluntly.
"Like getting Mary Margaret to trick me into killing my own mother?" Regina questioned. "You may be able to hide behind your dagger, but she can't. She's going to die for what she did."
"Oh, come on. We both know killing her will cost you the thing you want most - Henry." Gold spoke. "Why don't you just give up this obsession with vengeance? You know it can never make you happy."
"Yes, it will." Regina told.
"You had a whole curse worth of vengeance, and what did it get you? A gaping hole in your heart." Gold said.
"That was your curse." Regina retorted.
"Which you cast." Gold pointed out. "Still haven't learned your lesson, have you?"
"What lesson?" Regina asked.
"The same one your mother learned a long time ago. You can't have everything. She wanted power, ripped out her own heart to get it. You want vengeance? Henry's the price you'll pay. Time to cut your losses." Gold explained.
Regina shook her head, "Never. I will have my son, and I will have my vengeance. I will find a way to have everything."
Within the four walls of Mary Margaret's apartment, Emma, David, Camilla and Henry were talking.
"Anything?" Emma asked as David came walking back towards them from Mary Margaret's room.
"She won't eat a bite." David told.
"What's wrong with her?" Henry asked.
Since it all happened, they didn't tell Henry what had happened. The small boy had looked up towards Camilla in hopes that she would be able to tell him what had happened only to receive as small shake of the head
"Nothing. She's just a little sick." Emma lied. They all shared a look with each other for a brief moment just as Emma finished speaking.
Henry seemed to notice the looks of which was exchanged between the three adults as he then seemed to ask, "You guys are lying to me, aren't you?"
"No one's lying, Henry." Emma spoke.
"If it was my choice, I would've told you what the hell was happening, but they voted against it." Camilla told the small boy as she rose her hands. Camilla hated the fact that they were lying to Henry, it bugged her.
Henry gave her a small pleading look as he then turned towards Emma, "You are, just like you did about my dad."
"Henry, I -" Emma began as she then went to place a hand on his shoulder though Henry seemed to pull away and had scooted over towards Camilla.
Emma then let out a small sigh as she then said, "He's right. No more lying."
"Emma.." David began before he trailed off.
Emma then gave David a look as she said, "He deserves to know."
With a small smirk plastered on her face, Camilla spoke, "After all, lying is for corrupted and evil people, David. That's one of the last things you ever said to me when we were back over there."
David gave her a look of which implied for her to shut up, though Camilla looked over towards Mary Margaret who was curled up into a ball. Emma was sat there as she spoke to Henry, explaining what had happened.
"You know, the one thing of which I don't get is how lenient everyone is towards her after she's killed someone." Camilla spoke, "I mean, if it was me, everyone would be lining up with pitchforks and touches, wanting me dead. Yet here we are, with Mary Margaret, treating her like a little child who has mistakenly broken something."
"I'm sorry, but we all can't be you, Jade." David said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"Like being me is being any excuse. Listen to me, Charming, she's killed someone. Actually she then tricked Regina into shoving Cora's heart back into her chest which resulted in her death, that's the easy way, and rather pathetic if you ask me." Camilla said as she scrunched up her face slightly.
"Do you ever shut up?" David questioned as he then snapped, "We all aren't the great Jade Stiltskin, you know."
Camilla rolled her eyes slightly as she then spoke, "Yet the pair of you decided to follow the made up rule of, being good and how many lives did that cost? How many lives did it cost to get back that stupid castle, along with those meaningless crowns? How many lives did it cost to get back at King George and Regina? Hmm? I can't hear you, how many lives did it cost, and those lives being the lives you could have saved instead?"
David didn't respond which had caused Camilla to smirk, "You've forgotten, I've seen it from both sides, dearie. You make it out that I'm the terrible one, that I'm the heartless being when all I've done is trying to survive. Like I said, too many lives were lost for those meaningless crowns and stupid castle, looks like you killed more people that what I have."
Before anything else could be said by either Camilla or David, a knock echoed throughout the apartment.
Both Emma and Henry looked towards the door as their conversation quietened. David has walked over towards the door.
Camilla had shook her head slightly as she then rubbed her eye to feel nothing but charcoal falling from her eyes while she rubbed them. Confusion swept over her though she tried to forget about it.
All Camilla heard Henry say was, "But she's Snow White. She wouldn't hurt anybody."
Camilla scoffed as her phone vibrated. She took her phone out to see a message from Neal of which read, "We need to talk. ASAP!!! Meet me at Granny's."
Camilla mentally rolled her eyes as she then stood up to walk up to her room.
As she done this, Camilla heard David snap, "Get out!"
Before she could even listen to the conversation, she was already in her room. Camilla closed her door behind her as she then got changed. Though as she did, she heard a small laugh coming from behind her.
Rolling her eyes, Camilla growled, "What the hell do you want?"
The twin hummed, "Oh, you know, to see how you are." The sincere voice of the twin didn't seemed to match the evil of which laid in her eyes.
Camilla scoffed, "Ha, yeah sure."
"Seems to me that your best friend, Charming, is still a bit iffy with you." The twin spoke as it fiddled with one of the many daggers.
"He's been iffy with me since before the curse even arrived in the Enchanted Forest." Camilla stated.
The twin took a step closer as it said, "Oh I know, he never liked the way that you killed, did he? Or the way that you lied? Didn't he say that it was... oh what was it?"
Camilla just gave the twin a look as she said, "Evil. He said evil."
"That's it!" The twin said.
Camilla rolled her eyes, "Just get to the point towards why you're hear, I can't be bothered to deal with your shit."
The twin dramatically gasped, "'Your shit!' I'm offended." Camilla just rolled her eyes as the twin continued, "Seems to me as David doesn't care about you, nor what happens to you. Such a shame, thought that he would've. Soon enough no one will care what happened to the great Jade Stiltskin. No one will ever care as to what happened to the selfish brat of Jade Stiltskin."
The twin had stood in front of Camilla as she grabbed Camilla's chin, making her look at the twin, "You'll die alone, and no one will miss you." And with that, the twin vanished as if it was never there.
Camilla just simply shook her head as she then put her bomber jacket on, over her flannel before she then headed downstairs.
All she heard was Gold ask, "And why should I?"
David then responded with, "Because aside from us being family now, Mary Margaret saved your life. Now you owe her a debt. And you always pay your debts, don't you? You're gonna help us stop Regina."
With that, Gold couldn't argue after all he preferred to not have any debts stored up.
"Camilla, wanna come?" David asked, he thought that it might be a way to forget what had happened not that long ago between the two.
Camilla just shook her head, saying, "I've got somewhere else to be."
David shrugged as him and Gold then left. Emma just gave her a look, wondering as to why she didn't go.
"Normally you'd go, why haven't you?" Emma asked as she still gave her a look.
Camilla just held up her phone showing her the message, "Neal wants to talk to me, seems urgent." Camilla didn't seem to notice the regret of which was written across Emma's face.
Jade had walked to the centre of the village as she then put her arms out saying towards Baelfire, "See, it's safe."
"Jay, please come back in, it's not safe for you to be outside at the moment." Baelfire begged.
Jade hadn't notice how there were a few of the villagers of which seemed to watch her before one spoke, "Listen to the boy, Jade, it's never been safe for you, and now you've brought a monster into our village which causes nothing but chaos and havoc. Maybe whatever this monster wants, you should pay for it."
"Um, Jordan, I don't think I want to pay the price. Though keep talking and maybe I'll consider making you pay the price of what that monster wants." Jade harshly spoke. Jordan seemed to shoot her a look to which Jade stuck her middle finger up at.
Jade actually had no idea as to why she wanted to be outside. She just guessed that maybe because she was restricted to staying indoors, she just wanted to go outside. Jade looked up to the sky to see how the clouds seemed to form over the sun, making it look like it was about to rain, or maybe a storm was coming.
There was a part of Jade of which tensed up, telling her to quickly get inside. Yet another part of her was telling her to stay outside, after all she was cooped up for a few days. Jade shook off the feelings, she should just enjoy the freedom, after all, how bad could it be?
Jade noticed how Baelfire seemed to freeze on the spot as he pointed towards something of which was behind her. Jade mentally cursed at herself, maybe the kid was right, maybe she should have listened to him.
Jade turned around to see how the Fury was basically standing over her, she was surprised that she didn't hear the creature come up behind her. Jade had froze slight, she knew that she needed to run back to her house but she couldn't. Oh, how she wished she had listened.
"Jade, you dumbass, run!" Baelfire yelled from where he stood.
Just as Baelfire finished speaking, the Fury let out a screeched as it then took hold of Jade's arm and flew up a few feet before dropping her. Jade then landed on the floor with a thump as she then let out a groan. The Fury then grabbed hold of Jade's leg as it then flew off.
"OH SHIT!" Jade yelled as she saw the village below her grow smaller and smaller by the minute.
Jade just about heard Baelfire say, "Dagger." As she got carried off. However, Jade misheard it.
"Why would I need a ladder?" Jade questioned herself, though she noticed how one of her daggers was slipping out from her boot. "Oh, dagger."
The female had covered her ears when the Fury had let out a screech. As the beast let out a screech, her dagger had fell from her boot, Jade had managed to catch it just before it fell completely. Though as she caught it, it slipped, falling off somewhere into the Enchanted Forest.
Jade let out a small groan as she then tried to get the dagger from her waist. Though, as she did, the Fury had decided to let go of her leg, letting her fall from a great height. The trees seemed to come closer at an alarming rate, Jade managed to get the dagger from her waist out but she knew that it wouldn't do her any help if this was how she was going to die.
Just before she reached the trees, the Fury had grabbed hold of her free arm, Jade's legs skimmed over the tops of the trees. The Fury had then flown just above the trees, like it was about to land.
Jade had took this as an opportunity to then use her dagger to then impale the Fury's leg. Repeatedly. It let her go, letting her fall. Jade feel from the height of around twenty feet, she knew that there was a likeliness of which she wouldn't survive, so she closed her eyes and waited for the impact.
However, the impact of which she was waiting for, wasn't the one she expected. She had managed to land into a small group of five of which just so happened to be on their way to continue their lives. Jade heard the yelps of which came from them as she knocked into them along with the screech of the Fury.
Jade's entire body was in immense pain, it was even a struggle to keep her eyes open. Though, as much of a struggle as it was to open her eyes, she seemed to notice how around her was two people who let out a groan, yet she also noticed how she laid over three people who seemed both confused and in a lot of pain.
Jade then tried to move off of them, the pain of which filled her body didn't help her at all. She knew that she'd end up with a lot of bruises come a few hours. As Jade got off of the three people of which she landed on top off, she noticed how the Fury seemed to flap around in the sky, before it then came flying towards them.
"Get up! All of you! Get out of here!" Jade weakly said as she tried to get up. She tried to shake the pain away, though it seemed as if it didn't want to go.
The group of five slowly got up, one by one, all experiencing a shit tone of pain. They all shot Jade a look, though that look turned into fear when they heard the Fury screech.
"GO!" Jade yelled, "I'm trying to save your asses!"
"Come." A woman spoke, "We can offer you protection."
Jade gave her a sympathetic look, she felt bad that she managed to crash land right onto a woman who probably didn't need a teenager to land right on her. Jade looked towards the Fury as it came closer and closer towards them, she then looked back at the woman in front of her.
Shaking her head, Jade then said, "Come on, lets go."
The pair of women then proceeded to run off into the woods, though just as they got to the edge of the woods, the Fury had managed to catch hold of the woman beside her, the woman let out a yell as Jade quickly grabbed the womans arm. Using her other hand, Jade had grabbed hold of her dagger as she imbedded it into a tree.
Jade let out a yell as she felt the immense pain radiating all over her body. Her focus was to try and get the woman away from the Fury. The beast snarled as the woman let out a small whimper, holding onto Jade for dear life.
Camilla had walked into Granny's Diner to see how Neal was sat in one of the booths with a cup of coffee sat in front of him. She had walked over towards the booth as she slid in opposite him.
Instead of greeting her with a hello, Neal seemed to spit out, "When was you going to tell me?"
Camilla just gave him a confused look as she questioned, "Tell you what?"
"Don't play dumb." Neal spoke as he looked up at her, she could see the worry filled in his eyes. "When were you going to tell me that your dying?"
Camilla tensed up as she stared at him in shock. A million thoughts had came rushing to her mind. She didn't know what to tell him, she hoped that he wouldn't find out. She never wanted to tell him because she'd just got the chance to see him again, she didn't want to ruin it by saying that she was dying. Yet her mind snapped towards who could have told him, the only person of which she could possibly think of who would've told him - Emma Swan.
Anger filled Camilla though she tried to hide it. She was pissed off by the fact that he knew, she was pissed off by the fact that her secret was told, she was pissed off by the fact that Emma Swan - the one person of which she believed would by be like her mother - had done exactly what her mother had done, spilled a secret that Camilla entrusted her with.
"Well? When was you going to tell me?" Neal demanded.
Camilla let out a sigh, "Never. I was hoping for never."
"Jade-" Neal began before he was cut off by Camilla correcting him saying, "Camilla!"
Neal sighed, "Camilla. How long has this been happening?"
"Two and a half weeks, maybe three." Camilla responded duly as she rubbed her eye.
Neal looked towards his sister in shock, "I can't believe that your dying, Camilla. Why would someone do something to you of all people?"
"I don't know, someone that hates me." Camilla responded as she shrugged.
"I don't get it, you're innocent from what I remember, yeah you've killed a few people but that's because you had to protect the people who was worth protecting in your case. Camilla, you don't deserve this." Neal spoke, he didn't understand as to why someone would do this to her. He didn't understand why she had the curse placed on her in the first place.
"I'm not innocent, Neal. I never have been." Camilla told as she slammed her hand down on the table, "I'm nothing more than a broken person, Neal. I've done too many bad things, maybe this is fates way of karma; killing me slowly and making me feel everything of who I've killed."
"If it's fate, then why?" Neal asked, "Why you?"
Camilla rolled her eyes, "I'm not the same person you saw all those years ago. I have killed more people than what Regina possibly has, I killed people because I thought it to be fun. I have slaughtered small villages of which didn't give me what I had asked. Hell, I've probably threatened so many people that one of them decided to place this stupid curse on me. So, why fate and why me? Maybe because everyone wants me to feel exactly how they felt, hopeless and their heart feeling like stone."
Neal didn't say anything. He stared at her with some sort of shock. There was a part of him of which pained him of which now knowing what his sister had turned out to be. He wondered what kind of person of which she had become since their separation.
"I-I don't get how you've changed so drastically. You used to be so different compared to how you are now, how?" Neal asked. He wanted to know what the hell was happening to his sister and why she had become the way that she did.
"Well you can thank our father for pulling me away from Peter Pan, he brought out the monster in me. Surprised he didn't do the same to you, after all, he was a shitty father towards me." Camilla stated. With that, Camilla had gotten up as she left Neal sitting there as he still tried to process as to what she had told him.
Camilla had made her way to Mary Margaret's apartment to where she found Gold, Emma and David standing around as if they were waiting for her arrival. Camilla paused for a moment as she stared at the three who seemed to stare back at her.
"What the fuck? What's going on?" Camilla asked. "Someone please explain."
"All you should know is that Regina is planning something and she's planning to kill Mary Margaret. As well, there were a few ingredients missing from her vault." David had explained rather bluntly.
Gold then proceeded to explain what the ingredients were and what they had made.
Confused, still, Emma asked, "What the hell does that do?"
"In theory, it has the power to make someone love you." Gold responded.
"Doesn't that break magic laws? You can't bring someone back to life. You can't force someone to love you." Emma questioned.
"This particular spell can make someone think they love you. And if you're as desperate for love as Regina appears to be, you just might believe it." Gold explained.
"Sounds like something you'd do, if I'm going to be honest." Camilla stated as she looked towards Gold.
While she spoke, Henry had came walking down the stairs as he asked, "She's using it on me, isn't she?"
Camilla had walked towards Henry as she said, "Henry, why don't you go back upstairs, let us handle this. I don't want you getting hurt."
"No!" The small boy refused as he pushed past Camilla and had went over to Emma. "Emma! You said you were going to be honest with me. Now, why is Regina using this curse?"
Gold had then explained, "Because it's the only way she can get everything she wants, that she can get you."
"But if all she wants is me..." Henry began but had trailed off his own sentence.
Camilla then harshly spoke, "She'll have to get over my dead body in order to do anything to you."
Emma had given her a small look, knowing full well that Camilla's death would be coming quicker than expected. Emma knew that if Camilla was to die due to her curse then protection for Henry would go down.
"Your mother is a complicated woman. She wants your love of course, but she also wants vengeance... on Mary Margaret." Gold explained towards the boy.
"How does the curse give her both?" David asked.
Camilla had the same thought going through her head but didn't bother with asking it.
"Because the last ingredient she needs to enact the curse is the heart of the person she hates the most." Gold told. At the sound of this, Camilla has stiffened up slightly.
"You have to stop her." Emma spoke.
"Oh, I don't have to do anything. On the contrary, I believe warning you fulfills my debt." Gold said, not wanting to help any more.
"Not even close. This is my wife's life we're talking about." David snapped.
Emma added, "Not to mention your grandson's."
"Well, wars have costs." Gold stated.
Camilla had finally snapped, "Really? You let Regina take Henry and your favourite child would be oh so pissed that he wouldn't be able to forgive that you just sat back and allowed for this to happen."
Camilla had narrowed her eyes as what she said had made Gold pause. A smirk played on Camilla's lips as she knew that what she said would get him to rethink.
David had let out a sigh, "Well, what are we going to do?"
"This is a blood feud, dearie. One that goes back a long time. And the only way you can end a blood feud is by the spilling of more blood. That is the only way I know to eliminate your Regina problem." Gold explained.
David had rubbed his eye, "By what, by killing her?"
"Is there no other option?" Emma asked.
"I'm afraid not." Gold stated.
Camilla had noticed the look on Henry's face as she then said, "Guys, listen to yourselves, this is Henry's mom we're talking about! When the hell have any of you wanted to kill anyone? Excluding Gold, you're all heroes who don't kill for any reason, only for a cause. For gods sake, this would be the second person of which you've planned to kill in two days! What's happened to you, I thought you were the good guys, well - apart from Gold. How many people have Regina and Cora kill when they were together? One. How many people would you have killed in order for your precious little lives to be okay? Two. Notice how the most common word that I'm using is the word, kill? Innocent people are being killed, people who need time to change are not given the chance to change but instead are getting killed."
Camilla had given David one of her looks, considering that it seemed as if David was about to say something. Though as soon as David received the look, he kept his mouth shut.
Camilla then continued, "When I was with you, I was the one who was willing to kill the enemy or anyone who dared cross our path, but you always shut me down saying that there is good buried deep within them wanting a chance to change. Well, I believe that Regina should get that chance to redeem herself, after all its what evil people always need. You say that you're giving me then chance to change, so therefore, in your eyes I'm evil."
"You're not evil, Cam." Emma spoke.
Camilla scoffed, "Tell that to your oh so saint of parents, who believed the lies of which people told-"
David cut in saying, "-We tried to find you, but apparently you were with the Queen, helping her kill us."
"Yeah, you tried to find me after five months, David. You tried to apologise for being so goddamn gullible and believed the lies that you told but it was too late. You and your precious little wife made me run away because you believed that I was apparently going to annihilate all of you, where I wasn't even going to! How long was I with the pair of you? HOW LONG? And yet you believed it!" Camilla's voice rose slightly while she spoke.
Camilla then shook her head as she then headed towards the door, she placed her hand on the handle as she then said, "In the end, good people always become bad, everyone always end up the same over time, everyone always turn into bad people. Then, yet again, who's right and who's wrong? Though who really cares anymore?"
With that, Camilla then opened the door as she walked out, slamming it shut behind her. The inner rage was all of which filled her as she then stormed out.
Everyone in the room winced though Henry seemed to not take any notice of it. He looked at everyone in the room, he never would have thought that they would ever think of killing his own mother. Adopted or not, he didn't want to loose Regina.
"She's right. You used to be heroes. What happened to you?" Henry questioned as he then shook his head and ran out of the apartment, following Camila.
Emma had let out a small sigh as she then sat on a stool. David had given her a small confused look.
"Why aren't you following Henry?" David asked.
"He won't listen to me, at all. Though I'm sure Camilla could look after him." Emma stated.
"Emma, we've got to get Henry out of here considering that Regina is still planning to use that spell." David told.
The blonde nodded as she then said, "I'll ask Neal if he could take him to New York." With that Emma left the apartment while she took out her phone as she dialled Neal's number.
"Jade's right. Cora is more dangerous because she didn't have a heart. Regina is even more dangerous because she does." Gold told. Though the one thing of which shocked about what Gold had said was the fact that Jade was right.
Jade let out another groan, her hand was slipping from the handle of her dagger as well as the woman. She couldn't hold on anymore. She couldn't assure that the woman would be safe.
"Don't let go, please!" The woman begged.
The Fury let out another growl, pulling even more on the woman. Jade yelped at the amount of pain filling her body, she couldn't hold on to save her without risking her own life.
Jade looked at the woman with sad eyes, "I'm sorry, I can't hold on anymore."
Tears rolled down the woman's cheek, "Please. Please, I'm begging, please don't let go."
"I'm sorry, I can't." Jade spoke as she shook her head. She felt bad for what she was about to do, she never wanted to do this to an innocent person before. Oh how she knows she'd regret this choice.
A tear rolled down Jade's eye as she let go of the woman. The woman let out a scream along with a sob as the Fury pulled the woman further away. Jade collapsed on her knees as she watched the woman be dragged away, unwillingly.
"I'm sorry. This isn't what you deserved." Jade spoke out loud.
She heard footsteps coming from behind her and a voice call out, "Maria!"
Jade stood up as she looked at the two men of which she fell into. Her name was Maria, and she tried to make sure that Jade could come with her for her protection.
"Excuse me ma'am, have you seen my sister? " One of the men asked, "She was with you."
Jade simply shook her head saying, "I-I tried my best. I promise I tried my best. I'm sorry it wasn't good enough, I'm sorry I'm not good enough. She was taken, by the thing of which was chasing after us. I'm sorry."
The two men looked at each other, their hope lost. They should have done better, if only.
****
It didn't take Jade long to get back to her village, she ignored the looks of which she received as she headed straight into her house. She felt a pair of arms wrap around her as she then done the same towards her brother.
"How'd you managed to escape?" Baelfire asked.
"It got what it wanted. A life." Jade bitterly responded. "I could have stopped it, only if I was stronger."
"It's okay, you didn't mean to." Baelfire told. He had never seen his sister so lost, it worried him. He didn't know how she was going to recover from this. At all.
Emma had managed to catch up to Henry while he was with Camilla. She had then brought Henry to Granny's Diner to talk with Neal who had agreed to take Henry away from Storybrooke. Camilla had walked behind the pair as her eyes narrowed at Emma.
"Why are you bringing me here?" Henry asked, "I don't want to talk to you."
"You don't have to." Emma responded. Camilla had gone to the counter as she ordered a coffee.
"Hey, buddy! I saved you a seat!" Neal greeted.
"I'm going to talk to your sister." Emma told as Neal nodded.
By the time of which Emma had got to the counter, Camilla was already ordering her second coffee.
"Hey Cam-" Emma was cut off by the sound of the cup hitting the counter as Camilla stared at her.
Ignoring the look, Emma continued, "Hey, I know that you're pissed off, but I just wanted to ask, what did my parents do to you back in the Enchanted Forest? You seem to talk about it as if it was yesterday."
"Try over thirty-five years ago." Camilla stated.
Emma stared at her, still waiting for the answer to her question.
Camilla let out a small irritated sigh, "Back over there, when I used to work alongside your parents, this was way before they had got back their castle - I think - but it was a good few years after they met, there was a rumour going around about how I was apparently going to kill your parents along with our other allies at the time. Snow and Charming had overheard this rumour and had decided to question me about it."
"By question you about it, you mean they believed it?" Emma asked.
Camilla nodded, "Yep. They believed the people more than me. Your father called me evil because I was apparently deceiving them throughout the entire time I knew them. I weren't, though they didn't believe me. Do you want to know what kind of people your parents are? Especially when it came to someone like me?"
Camilla looked towards Emma who seemed to be interested into what she was saying. Emma noticed the small silence to which she quickly said, "Go on."
The brunette shook her head slightly, "They said that I was like my father, a liar and a monster. They compared me to my father, saying how I was just going to turn out like him. They knew what kind of things my father did to me way back when, yet they still had the authority to say to me that I would end up like him."
Emma stared at her in disbelief, she never thought that they would say something like that to her.
Camilla continued, "That's why I left them. That's why I packed my shit up, realising that I couldn't trust them anymore, and I left them to defend themselves. That's when Regina had came and made a deal for me to go on her side. I agreed, obviously, though even after everything of which they had done, I felt bad for going on Regina's side."
Camilla had then got up from where she sat. As she went to move, Camilla then turned back to Emma saying, "And by the way, thank you ever so much for keeping my death a secret from my brother. Was ever so nice." Her voice was laced with slight sarcasm.
Emma stiffened slightly, "I'm sorry, Camilla, your father and brother were worried."
"Sure, whatever." Camilla stated. She then walked out of Granny's and had slowly made her way down the street.
It wasn't long until she heard Emma's voice call out, "Camilla! Henry's running!"
Within a land further than most stood an island of which some people didn't like that much. A woman along with her boyfriend laid side by side, asleep.
The woman laid there as a nightmare crossed her mind while she slept, a nightmare of which resulted with an incident of which happened a long time ago. To this day, the incident still haunted her, after all, it was the day of which she killed someone. Well, not her personally, but she couldn't hold on any more.
All of which the woman could remember was a Fury coming to take her though it didn't take her. It took an innocent person who had a family of which cared about her so much.
The woman dreamed about how she could have saved the person - Maria - the woman could have saved Maria but she just saved herself. The shrieking of the Fury had filled the woman's head, to the point where it was hard to sleep.
Jade Stiltskin, a woman who lived with the guilt of the death of a woman who she never knew. Not only did Jade Stiltskin regret the choice to let go, Jade Stiltskin could hear the continued shrieking of the Fury.
Every other night she'd hear the same shrieking noise of the Fury, and every time she'd wake up with a heavy heart. But not tonight, not tonight. Tonight she woke up in tears. She managed to wake up the sleeping boyfriend beside her.
He gave her a concerned look, worried about what was the matter with the one person he cared about. She had never woken up in such a state before.
He placed a hand on his crying girlfriend, asking, "Jay, is everything alright?"
Jade simply shook her head, "It's my fault. It should have been me."
Peter gave her a small confused look as he then asked, "What do you mean? Jade, your worrying me."
"It should have been me." Jade repeated.
She started to worry Peter, a lot. He will admit that there where times where she might act strange but he found it cute, but this time, this time it worried him a lot. He tried to think of what she could possibly be. He had a feeling that it wasn't anything to do with her family because he knew that her father never done anything of which made her wish that it was her.
"Jade, babe, what's the matter?" Peter asked.
Jade gave him a small look as she then gave him a hug, "There's something I need to tell you. Something that still haunts my mind today."
Peter Pan nodded, "Go on, you can tell me, you know that."
Jade took in a small breath as she then looked up towards Peter, "When I was back over there, I almost died. There were these guards who stabbed me, I almost died due to blood loss, till my father healed me. But, as you know, magic always come with a price, especially when it comes to death.
"When I was healed, it was a quiet few weeks, that was till something came. A monster came for me, it was called a Fury. You've probably heard what they are. It wanted to take me because it's price was a life, I outran death so it came to drag me right to death's door. Anyway, there was one day that I got bored so I went out, and it took me, dragged me off into the Enchanted Forest.
"It wasn't till I managed to stab it in the leg that I was able to then escape. I fell from twenty feet straight into a group of people who were just on their way. The Fury came for me, it wasn't until me and this woman - Maria - had came to the edge of the woods that the Fury had managed to get hold of the woman, I tried so hard to keep her on the ground, but the Fury was too strong.
"I couldn't hold on, I knew that if I decided to not let go, it w9ound end up taking me as well, so I let her go. I let that poor innocent person die so that I could live another day, where I wasn't even meant to be alive anymore. I should've died that day, I should have took her place, I should never had been healed. If I was never healed then that woman would still be alive today."
When she finished, she then hugged Peter, again. She hated the fact that she was selfish that day had had decided for the woman to take her placed and not her.
"Hey, hey, hey," Peter softly spoke as he made her look at him, "everything happens for a reason, yeah you might feel crappy about what had happened to that woman, but if you think about it, if you had taken her position, then you wouldn't be here on Neverland with the Lost Boys and me. If you had taken her place, then you wouldn't have found a place where you belonged. Maybe you lived for a reason, maybe you lived because you were always meant to find your way here."
"But I still feel bad about letting that woman go, it wasn't fair." Jade countered.
"Jay, I know that you'll still feel bad about it. I know that it might be hard, but you've got to learn to move on, if you want to honour that life of which took your place then live. Live because that's one of the best ways to show that it's worth living." Peter told her.
Jade nodded her head, Peter then said, "Come on, let's go back to sleep. If it would make you feel better, would you want me to watch you sleep, just so that the nightmare doesn't come back."
"Yes please." Jade mumbled as she then snuggled herself into Peter.
Camilla, David, Ruby, Emma, and Neal were within the mines as they tried to look for where Henry could be.
"Henry!" David yelled.
"Henry!" Emma called out.
"Down here!" Ruby stated as she then took in a deep breath, "He was in here."
"Why would an eleven-year-old kid run away to the mines?" Neal asked
"Wouldn't be the first time." Camilla stated, "Last time he was down here, he dragged me with him, worst thing to ever happen to me, feeling as if I couldn't breath which was always so fun."
"I think I know what he was looking for." David said as he shone the flashlight on a box of explosives. On the box read 'Caution' "The dynamite the dwarfs use for blasting."
"What the hell would he want dynamite for?" Emma asked.
"To get rid of magic." Neal stated.
Camilla grinned at the idea. If there was no magic then that would mean that she wasn't going to die. However, if magic no longer existed then she wouldn't be able to see Peter again.
"At the diner he said someone should get rid of magic." Neal stated.
"So he's going to blow it up?" Camilla asked. "That sounds festive."
Neal stared at Camilla for her small comment as he then asked, " Where would he even go to do that?"
Morning had came over Neverland, and everything seemed to be a lot calmer like the calm before the storm. Jade had managed to get back to sleep, her mind no longer bothered about the Fury. Maybe this was all part of life's plan to keep her breathing for so long because she was needed.
Needed. The one thing she wasn't that used to. Of course she was needed on Neverland, but that was about it, she was only needed on Neverland and no where else. And she couldn't be happier that this was where she was needed. She was needed by all the Lost Boy's considering that they all see her as family, as a mother figure of the island.
The Lost Boy's had loved the fact that Jade was on the island, yes they had a bumpy start with Jade, but they all soon grew fond over the fact that Jade treated them like family, and there were times where they caught her doing the odd mother-like thing. They had always teased her when they noticed how much of a mother she was being towards them.
This morning, in particular was one of those moments, where Jade would wake up and she'd be in a mother mode, where she tried to protect everyone from anything she thought was too dangerous. Sometimes there were times where Jade would teach the Lost Boys about anything of which they wanted to learn. It turned out that Jade was good with kids, even if they were mentally older than what she was.
Jade had walked down to the small camp, she scanned the Lost Boys only to find how a small group of them were crowded round one tree while one Lost Boy had managed to climb up the tree. Jade had rolled her eyes as she made her way over to them. The boys had made a small path once they realised that Jade was coming through.
"Mother Neverland coming through." One of the Lost Boy's joked.
Jade just shot them a look as she grinned slightly, "Hush, child." She then looked up towards the supposed stuck Lost Boy. "How'd you get up there?"
"I climbed, clearly." The boy responded. Jade rose an eyebrow as the other's seemed to snicker slightly.
"Really, I thought you swung up." Jade responded with a small smirk. Her eyes then darted around the tree to see if she could find any way for the small boy to climb down. She couldn't see a way that the small boy could get down so, she then proceeded to walk towards the trunk of the tree.
She turned towards the Lost Boys, "I'm going to need a lot of our spears. We're going to be making some steps so this little one can actually get down. Now go! All of you!"
With that, all of them scattered, getting what Jade had demanded, Felix seemed to lean against the tree, beside her.
He then commented, "How does it feel, being the mother of Neverland?"
Jade looked at the taller blonde, "Oh you know, exhausting."
"So you finally admit to being the mother of Neverland?" Felix asked as he rose an eyebrow.
"Well, everyone's gotta admit to something's, Felix. Maybe it was time for me to finally admit that I am." Jade told with a small shrug.
A small look then flickered across Felix's face as he then asked, "Does that mean I'm gonna have to start calling you mom?"
Jade shot him a look, "Hell no. You're not calling me mom, not at all."
"Sure mom, whatever you say mom." Felix teased with a small smirk.
"Felix, stop teasing my girl." Peter said as he came towards the pair.
"Hey, she finally admitted to it." Felix told as he rose his hands slightly. "At least Neverland has a couple of parents at last."
Jade just shot him a look, "We are not parents. We just babysit you lot so you all don't get yourselves killed."
"Can I come down now?" The small boy from the tree asked, which had made Jade jump slightly.
The female nodded as she then noticed how there was a small pile of spears by her feet. Jade then began grabbing each one of them as she then shoved them into the tree trunk. Slowly, a small stairway began to form .
"Kid, put your feet on either one of the spears, it'll help you come down." Jade told. The boy nodded as he then proceeded to make his way down. Though as the boy was climbing down, he slipped.
Jade had managed to catch hold of the boy saying, "Careful. You could have hurt yourself." She then put the boy on the floor.
"Look's like you are the mother of Neverland." Peter told with a small smirk.
Jade then punched him in the stomach, "Shut up."
At the wishing well, Henry had gotten out the dynamite from his bag as he then placed it onto the well. Henry then lit a match as he prepared to light the dynamite.
"Henry?" Regina called out as she neared her son with her hands up. "What are you doing?"
Henry lifted up the dynamite as he said, "I'm getting rid of magic. It's ruining everything. And you can't stop me." He then placed it back down onto the side of the Well.
"All that's going to do is get you killed." Regina pointed out as she pointed towards the dynamite.
Henry attempted to light up another match as he said, "You just say that because you need magic. So you can cast that curse on me." Henry had managed to light the match as he moved it towards the dynamite, though before he could, Regina had used her magic to make it vanish.
Regina then began to walk towards him, "I can't lose you Henry. You mean too much to me."
"Then don't cast the curse. Don't kill Mary Margaret." Henry said.
"Henry, she has to pay." Regina told.
"The curse. It won't make me love you for real. It'll be fake." Henry pointed out.
Regina had then gotten the curse out as she said, "But it will be something. I know it's hard for you to understand right now but you'll see. We can be happy. We can have everything."
"Not like this." Henry stated as he backed away from Regina.
By this time, Emma and the others had came to the Wishing Well to see how Regina was already there.
"Hey Regina!" Emma's voice called out, "Get away from my son!"
Regina turned to face them as she said, "He's not yours. He's mine. And after I cast this, you'll never see him again."
"That's never going to happen." David spoke.
"You wanna kill Mary Margaret, you're going to have to go through us." Emma stated.
"Okay." Regina said as she then summoned a fireball. Instantly both Camilla and Henry had run in between Regina and Emma, Neal plus David.
"Henry, get out of the way!" Neal instantly yelled just as Emma yelled, "Camilla, NO!"
"Not until someone helps me destroy magic!" Henry told.
"There's no way to get rid of it. You can't just blow it up!" Regina countered.
"Magic isn't the problem, kid. It's her." Emma told.
Camilla shot her a look, one of which appeared to be a stone cold death glare.
"It's not just Regina! It's all of you! Have either of you even noticed what the hell you're doing to Henry? You're both playing one big game with him! You say that you care about him, but it doesn't seem like it. You both say that you care about Henry, then start acting like it!" Camilla yelled slightly. "I let magic and people ruin my family, so I'm not going to let the same thing happen to Henry. It's not fair."
"Look what magic did to Mary Margaret! Look at what magic done to Camilla - it turned her into one of the most feared people back over there!" Henry said as he then turned to Regina, "Look what it did to you! It's ruining everything. It makes good people do terrible things."
Henry then cuddled into Camilla's side as a way to say how he didn't want to get in the middle again.
"And bad people." Emma stated.
Camilla then let out a small sigh as she then said, "Honestly, if it was me, I would blow up mag-"
Emma then cut in saying, "-Yeah, well you're dying so why wouldn't you want to blow it up."
Henry's head snapped towards Camilla as did David's. Both Regina and Neal just gave her a pained look. Emma, on the other hand, had simply gave her a cold stare.
Camilla let out a growl, "Look's like magic seems to also makes assholes who can't keep secrets. I trusted you! And what did you do?! YOU TELL EVERYONE! First you tell my brother, now-now you've told everyone else. I thought that you were going to be different from your parents, but looks like you're the same. I NEVER wanted Henry to find out about this! Yet you don't care about it at all."
She looked up and down at Emma as she gave her nothing more than an evil look. Camilla then walked away.
"Camilla! I'm-" Emma began with a yell, though she then spoke quietly, "sorry."
Henry then chased after Camilla, not wanting to leave her side. Regina had burned the curse up in the end, feeling as if it was now unnecessary despite what she had felt.
Both Camilla and Henry had sat leaning against a tree. Camilla hadn't said anything when she found out that Henry followed her. She did feel bad that she never told Henry about it, yet at the same time she felt as if it would be better if she didn't cause then Henry wouldn't know her suffering. Yet she never had the chance to have a decision.
"What is it that you're dying from?" Henry asked.
Camilla didn't say anything, she took off her jacket along with the glove of which covered her stone hand. Henry had then ran his fingers along the stone arm.
"Is this actually stone?" Henry asked.
Camilla weakly nodded, "Yeah, it is."
She then put her jacket back on as Henry let out a sigh as he then asked, "Why didn't you tell me?"
Camilla shrugged slightly, "Because I didn't want you to worry. I just thought that if I didn't tell you, then there would be less pain for you. I didn't want you to worry about me."
"Camilla, I'll always worry about you, you're my sister, and apparently my biological aunt." Henry stated with a small smile.
The female shook her head slightly as she smiled. Camilla had brought him into a small hug.
"How long have you got?" Henry questioned as he looked up to Camilla.
"I don't know, two more weeks, maybe. I've kinda lost track of it all." Camilla responded as some sort of pain flickered over her eyes.
Henry was then filled with shock and pain. He didn't want to loose the one of the people he cared about.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Henry asked, "And please don't say that you didn't want me to worry."
Camilla then let out a small sigh, "Henry, look at me. All stories come to an end, just like people do. It just looks like my story is coming to an end, and it's not the ending of which I hoped it to be, but I guess that's life. No one gets to choose how their story ends, but the one thing that I am glad about is that you were part of my story, Henry."
Henry weakly smiled. He didn't say anything, he didn't want her story to go out like this, he believed that her story should end with her alive and around everyone she cared about. He disliked the fact that this is how her life was ending.
Camilla then shook her head slightly as she then shot up. She then put her flesh hand out as she said, "Come with me, I've got something I want to show you."
Henry took her hand has he then got up, "Where we going?"
"To a place where I should have shown you a long time ago." Camilla responded with a small smile.
Henry gave her a small unsure look as the pair then ventured off into the woods. The two walked in silence as Camilla took the lead, trying to find the one thing she had always wanted to give to Henry, way before the curse broke and way before all this shit happened after the curse broke.
It didn't take Camilla long to find what she was looking for. The eldest one turned to Henry as she then asked, "Do you trust me?"
Henry nodded as he gave her an unsure look, "I do."
"Good. Close your eyes and keep them close. If you open them, then I won't hesitate to do something I'd probably get killed for by your whole family." Camilla told. Henry shook his head as he smiled, though he did what he was told to do.
Camila then placed her hand over his eyes, just to make sure. She then placed her other hand on his shoulder as she guided him just so that it would then be easier.
Henry let out a small laugh as he asked, "Where are you taking me?"
"That would ruin the surprise, now wouldn't it?" Camilla shot back with a small smile.
Henry didn't say anything as he just smiled. They continued to walk for a few moments before they both then stopped walking. Camilla removed her hand from the smaller boys eyes. She then moved him a little as a grin grew on her face.
"How much longer?" Henry asked.
"Well, damn, I was about to show you, but now I don't think I want to." Camilla spoke with slight sarcasm.
"Camilla, I'm serious." Henry said.
"So am I." Camilla joked. "Okay, open your eyes now."
Henry opened his eyes to see how in front of them was the treehouse of which Camilla had built for him back when the curse still had hold of everyone. Henry grinned as he stared at it, he then looked towards Camilla as he then gave her a hug.
"I love it! Thank you." Henry said. "When did you do this?"
"When we were cursed, I managed to finish it around the time I had moved in with both you and Regina, I think. Marco helped me build it." Camilla explained.
"Can I go into it?" Henry asked. Camilla nodded, and that was all Henry needed before he then sprinted towards the ladder of which hung down.
The smaller child then proceeded to climb up the ladder, while he did, Camilla tried to catch up - though the small fragment of pain prevented her from going as fast as she wanted.
"Henry, slow down." Camilla called out. She managed to get to the ladder just as Henry reached the door of the treehouse.
Henry had opened it as he then entered. Once he was up, he let out a small amazed gasp as he then began to walk around the small room. Camilla had just reached where the door was as she popped her head up, seeing as Henry walked around, looking at various things.
On the ceiling of the treehouse was fairy lights of which shone various colours, along with a small bulb of which brought some more light into the room. There was a small blow-up sofa of which took up one of the walls while in front of the sofa was a small table. There was also a TV of which stood on a little stand opposite the sofa.
There was also a small fridge of which was filled with various things, such as drink. There was a small set-up table beside the fridge of which had a small cooker placed on the top of it.
Henry looked up at all the fairy lights as he asked, "Wh-This is amazing!"
"It's about to get better." Camilla commented as she walked a few steps forward as she then kneeled down, lifting up the small rug of which covered a hatch.
"What's in there?" Henry asked.
Camilla didn't respond, she looked up to him as she grinned. She then opened the hatch of which reviled it to be full of sweets, though what laid on top of all the sweets was two controllers for an Xbox.
Camilla picked up the two controllers as she handed the pair to Henry, saying, "And these are for you."
Henry's eyes lit up as he gasped, "No way! Really? For me? H-How?"
Camilla shrugged, "You're mom helped a lot with all of this. She felt bad when she destroyed our old treehouse so, to make it up to you, she helped me build this for you."
"This is amazing! Thank you so much, Camilla, I love it!" Henry said as he hugged Camilla.
"You're welcome, Henry. I knew you'd like it." Camilla smiled into the hug.
****
Three hours had passed and Camilla and Henry were just making their way back to the apartment. Well, Henry was asleep on Camilla's back. She had offered him a piggy back, considering that he had fallen asleep in the treehouse, when Camilla had woken him up, she saw how tired he was so she had given him a piggy back ride to which he had then fallen back asleep.
Camilla had walked out of the woods as she slowly made her way back to the apartment. She was still pissed off with Emma for not only telling Neal about her death but also everyone else. She knew that it was her own fault for telling Emma in the first place but she couldn't help it.
She hated the fact that she told Emma about it, it made her blood boil, but not as much as it did when Emma blurted it out. It made her mad that now, maybe, everyone in Storybrooke might know about it, considering that Camilla had no idea as to who else Emma could have told.
It didn't take Camilla long to get to the apartment, though as soon as she opened the door she saw how both David and Emma was stood there waiting for her and Henry to return. Camilla simply ignored them as she headed to Henry's room. As she climbed the stairs both father and daughter had followed her to which Camilla rolled her eyes at.
Once Camilla had put Henry in his bed, she had then walked out, closing the door behind her. She noticed how Emma was about to say something but Camilla just shot her a glare to which shut Emma up.
Camilla had then walked into her room, though just as she closed her door, she stuck her middle finger up towards Emma one last time, shutting herself off from them for god knows how long.
And from that, Emma knew that she had lost Camilla's trust for a third time. First time was when she threw Camilla into prison, second time was when she had attempted to take Henry away just before the curse broke, and the third time being exposing the one thing of which Camilla had intrusted her to keep.
Emma knew that she fucked herself over with Camilla, knowing that there might be little chance to fix the mess of which had been made between them.

The entire goddamn backstory took me all night to write, I am honestly so tired at this present moment, it's unreal.
