Jasmine
Clara's POV
"So, where shall we go now?" I asked the Doctor.
It was Melody who answered. "Nowhere."
We both looked at her. "Wwwwwhhhyyyy?" the Doctor asked.
"We have the virus. Have you forgotten? We don't know how contagious it is, or even what it is. I have a concussion, and this virus makes it worse. If we're going anywhere, it's Thorn. I'm willing to bet they might have a cure," Melody explained. She winced and put a hand on her forehead.
The Doctor looked at her. "And you don't know this?"
Melody shook her head and winced again. "I don't know everything about being a Healer. I only know a fraction of the information there is to know."
"So Thorn it is!" the Doctor turned to the console.
Jasmine's POV
I swear to God it didn't seem like any time at all had past before I heard that infernal screeching noise.
Welcome back, Doctor. So help me if Melody's changed yet again, because I will murder you in the most painful way possible.
Just saying.
I ran to the window of the mansion I spent my time in to see the TARDIS arrive. I sighed and went downstairs to open the front door.
"You have got to be kidding me," I said as I let the Doctor, Melody, and this new girl in. "Why are you here, Time Lord?"
"You know his name's the Doctor, right?" the girl asked.
"You are...?"
"His companion," the girl said.
"Jasmine, this is Clara. Clara, this is my half sister, Jasmine," Melody said quickly.
"Hello," the girl-Clara-said nervously. I stared at her for a few moments, then said, "I know what his name is; however, he is a Time Lord, and Time Lords don't get that kind of respect."
"Thank you," the Doctor said.
"That wasn't a compliment," I snapped.
"Um, Jasmine, we're actually here because of an issue," Melody said.
"Well, I'll help you. Not your idiot of a father."
"Oi!" the Doctor protested. "You know, if your queen tolerates me, why can't you?"
"Because you ran off and got my mum pregnant," I told him. "Speaking of the queen, guess who's in the living room?"
"You should talk to her," Melody said. "I heard she needs a king."
"Just-oh, be quiet," the Doctor snapped, though I noticed his face turned a little pink.
"I think we're here because we've got most deadliest disease to mankind, not so that we can...talk," Clara said. We all looked at her, and she shrugged. "I'm just saying."
"What do you mean, you've got the most deadliest disease to mankind?" I asked.
"Well, we went to this place, it was a quarantine, but this girl, she's on the loose, she had released the disease to everyone in it," the Doctor explained.
"You're too loud," Melody grumbled.
"And gave Melody a concussion," the Doctor added.
"I can't help you with that," I said, turning away. This time, Clara spoke up. "I heard things from the Doctor and Melody. That you're willing to help anyone who isn't an enemy. Well, I'm human. I believe I'm one of the very few humans who know you exist, which means you can't really be enemies. And don't you help them all the time, just in disguise?"
I looked over my shoulder at her. She took this as a cue to continue. "And Melody's your sister. You would help her, right?"
I turned all the way around. "Fine. I'm not a Healer, though, I'm a Guard. I watch the borders of Thorn. Melissa's one, though, I'll ask her."
"Oh, I forgot about Melissa!" Melody clapped a hand to her forehead. "I should've called her. She would've been here already."
"Lucky she's in the area," I replied, heading for the phone. "Wait in the living room."
Clara's POV
"And you are...?" the queen asked me.
"I'm Clara," I replied. "It's, um, nice to meet you."
Queen Alexandra smiled. "And you."
"Majesty," Melody said, "why are you here? If you don't mind me asking."
"I am just...visiting," Queen Alexandra explained.
"The last time you just visited, we found out a microchip was taking over my daughter," the Doctor pointed out.
"Wasn't that when the borders went down?" Melody asked.
"I believe so."
"I am not here because we are under attack, if that is what you are suggesting," the queen said. "If I seem to recall, you three are here because of a virus."
"The most deadliest, yeah," Melody settled into the sofa.
"And this does not bother you?"
"Oh, no, it bothers us. It's just...we don't have much of a choice but to accept it."
Just then, Jasmine walked in. "I've contacted Melissa. She says she'll be over ASAP. In the meantime..."
She sat down next to Melody. "What're we talking about."
"Stuff," the Doctor said.
"Hey, Dad, why're you staring at the queen? Staring's not polite," Melody teased, elbowing her dad.
"I'm-I'm not staring," the Doctor said, quickly adverting his gaze. I could see his face going pink.
"You like her, don't you?" Melody asked, leaning against her father.
"No," the Doctor said a little too quickly.
"Then why's your face pink?" I asked.
"Clara, stay out of this," he snapped.
"Oooooh, touchy," Melody said. "One of the signs you like someone."
"I do not!"
At this point, both his and the queen's faces were pink. Just then, Jasmine walked in. "I got hold of Melissa. She said she'd come over ASAP. Why are you two blushing."
The Doctor answered. "Nothing."
"Hmm..." Jasmine turned to leave, then looked over the shoulder. "Oh, by the way, Anastasia wants to talk to you, Melody."
"Why?" Melody asked curiously.
"About...you know," she glanced at me.
"She knows about Liliana," the Doctor said.
"Still..."
"Which room?" Melody asked.
"Second door on the right," Jasmine walked out the room. Melody stood up with a grunt. "Better go. This is really important."
"Is there still a hole on the third floor?" the Doctor asked.
"What hole-oh, no. They took care of it," Melody left.
"There was a hole?" I asked.
The Doctor nodded. "Oh, yeah. Daleks blew it up. It wasn't pleasant."
"I'm sure it wasn't."
"Hang on a sec- I think Graham's awake," Jasmine said. "Better go check on him."
"Who's Graham?" I asked curiously.
"Her son," the Doctor answered. "He's...I don't even know. He was 18 months when I last saw him, I do know that. Oh, he's got an older sister who's 13. I think. Her name's Kendall. Speaking of..."
A girl with dirty blonde hair cut into a bob came flying into the room, swinging around the door frame. "Doctor!" she squealed when she saw him and gave him a huge hug, leaping across the room to give it to him.
"Oof," the Doctor grunted. "Hey, Kendall. Bit enthusiastic with your greeting, aren't you? Thought you were just like your mum. Hated me."
"Still..." Kendall said, her voice muffled by the Doctor's chest. She lifted her head up. "That your girlfriend?"
"Wha-oh, no. No, no, no. That's my companion. Clara Oswald."
"Nice to meet you Clara," Kendall said, sliding off his chest. She sat cross-legged on the floor now.
"Nice to meet you too, Kendall," I replied. "And how old are you?"
"Fourteen now," she grinned.
"You're four years younger than Melody?" the Doctor asked. She and I both looked at him. He shrugged. "Sorry, didn't realize that."
Kendall shrugged. "Naw, it's fine. Most people don't."
With her head up, I could look at her more closely. She had deep blue eyes that had that sparkle that every were cat seemed to have, a sparkle of intelligence and mischief. Her ears were pointy like any other were cat. I hadn't noticed it until now, but all were cats seemed to resemble elves. I really hoped nobody but me ever had that thought.
"Why are you here?" Kendall asked. "If you don't mind me asking."
"We've only got the most deadliest disease known to mankind," I said.
"So nonchalant about it. Oh, yeah, I've got a bug that could kill me, it's no big deal. Just sitting here, talking, it's all cool." Kendall snorted.
"Definitely," I replied.
Just then, Jasmine entered, holding a squirming toddler boy with blonde hair. "Oh, good, you've met Kendall," she said.
"Oh, yeah," I said with a nod. "Cute kid you've got there."
"This one or that one?" Jasmine asked.
"Both."
"I am not cute!" Kendall protested.
"You love it. Don't deny it," Jasmine said with a grin.
"So that's Graham?" the Doctor asked.
"Yep. And even better. No longer is everyone 'Mommy' and everything 'ah ba ba.'"
"Good. I never really liked being called a female," the Doctor said with a shrug.
"What's wrong with females? One helped create your miserable existence."
"Because all females do is nag. Nag, nag, nag."
So, we've got an update! I know you guys are all mentally sending a Dalek after me for such a long wait, but I'm sure you're pleased. Even if this update is boring. Which it probably is.
Well, I am going to go update my other stories. Adios, amigos!
