Caroline

Melody's POV

I stood at the control thing for a long time. Dad had set up my room so that-with his permission-I could rearrange my room without much hassle. I stared at it, thinking. "What do you think, old girl?" I muttered.

A digital image came up and I smiled. The TARDIS always knew what I would prefer. "I can't wait to see the room," I said as I left. I locked my door and left the TARDIS to redo my room.

While I was gone, Dad had taken us to a surprise place. As I entered the console room, Dad looked up. "Ah, Melody!" he said. "Just going and running off, are we?"

"It got awkward."

"Nah, it didn't. What do you think? Future or past?"

"Uhhh, Dad?" I said. "I'm not-" Then I stopped myself. "You know what? Surprise me."

"Hang on a sec," Clara said. "Did you just call him Dad?"

"Yeaaaah. Why?"

"Is she your daughter?" Clara asked Dad.

"Yes," Dad said.

"Well, then, Dad, when were you planning on telling?"

"He doesn't. I'm his little secret," I said. "Bit annoying, really, but at least I hadn't got his face."

"Yeah, imagine having that chin," Clara said.

"Then again," Dad said, "you did get most of your looks from your mum. And you are a child from a previous regeneration. And you did regenerate yourself."

"Don't remind me," I said with a shudder. "That was not fun."

"What happened?" Clara asked.

"I was shoved out a third-story window that was closed," I said.

"Willingly," Dad added.

"I wasn't in my right mind," I pointed out.

"She was being controlled by a microchip called that went by the name of Liliana Potts and convinced her to believe she could see the dead. Then we found she didn't, and Queen Alexandra of Planet Thorn tried to shut down Liliana but it turns out she wasn't. Then, we went to Thorn and another girl by the name of Anastasia-notorious murderer, also controlled by Liliana-shoved her out a window. My friend Ella who's another Time Lord that went human for about eighteen years gave Melody all her regeneration energy because Melody barely has any and Melody regenerated," Dad said in his classical nonstop talk.

"Yeah," I said. "Liliana Potts was also someone I thought to be dead-she had the form of a little girl in a purple dress, but appeared ghostly. Just an FYI."

"Ohhh..." Clara nodded. "Well, this whole entire conversation has made absolutely no sense to me."

"That's because you're human," I said.

"You're part human, too," Dad pointed out. "All were-cats are, with the exception of Queen Alexandra."

"If they are all part human, wouldn't they be like a hybrid?" Clara asked.

I shook my head. "As far as we know, I'm the only were-cat hybrid. And the only were-cat who's part Time Lord. Guess you could say I'm 'unique'."

"What are were-cats?" Clara asked.

"They are a type of alien that have three forms-humanoid form, house-cat form-"

"With the exception of Queen Alexandra, who turns into a snow leopard," I added.

"-yeah, and a were-cat form. The were-cat form only appears during a full moon. When human they have retractable claws, pointy ears, pointy teeth, and when scared, their pupils turn slit-eyed. They can change into a regular cat at will. They live on Planet Thorn, a planet so huge it's hard to describe. It's also protected by borders so that none of their many enemies can get in. Unfortunately, only recently has the TARDIS been allowed in. Planet Thorn also has no moon, which is good, because although Melody doesn't turn into a full-fledged were-cat during a full moon, she still gets rather vicious. Actually, she's always rather vicious, but more so than usual. Does that clear things up for you?" Dad asked.

"Still did not understand a single thing you said. Can you slow down a few hundred miles?"

"I'm sorry, but that's outside of his capabilities," I said.

Doctor's POV

The TARDIS lurched, and we all grabbed onto the console. "Still having trouble flying her, huh, Dad?" Melody said.

"What's the point of flying her correctly if it's no fun?" I asked right back.

"Oh, I don't know, if she gets damaged or something?"

The TARDIS stopped moving and I scrambled to my feet, looking at Melody. "Since when were you so serious?"

"What do you mean?" Melody sauntered over to the door and swung it open, stepping outside. Clara and I quickly joined her.

"This isn't too bad. Bit wooden," I said, turning in a circle with my screwdriver out.

"Oh my God," Melody whispered, sounding horrified and disgusted.

"What? Wood? What's wrong with that? Most houses are made of it, after all," I said.

"Dad, just...look. Please."

I spun around, finally seeing what Melody was talking about.

Tied to a pillar was a young girl. She appeared to be unconscious; her head drooped to her chest. I ran over to her as Melody and Clara gently lifted up her head. I scanned her with my screwdriver as she slowly opened her eyes. "Wuzzgoinon? Who are you?"

"Hello! I'm the Doctor, this is Melody, and this here is Clara," I said, gesturing to the two other girls. "And you are...?"

"Caroline," she seemed to be struggling to keep her head up. "Oh, ow, my head..."

She tried lifting her arm, but it was tied down. Melody grabbed the ropes and I soniced them off her. She immediately curled up in a ball, head tucked between her knees.

"Why were you tied up?" Melody asked.

Caroline just shook her head and continued to rock back and forth. I took this time to examine her.

She had really long hair, but it was white and reminded me of candy floss. Her skin was milky white, too, and I had noticed her eyes were a light blue. She was albino.

After a couple minutes, she pushed herself to her feet. A smile split her face. "Thank you for freeing me," and ran off.

"Well, that was just strange," Clara said. "Hey, where's she going? Do you think we should follow her?"

We all glanced at each other, then took off running.

Clara's POV

Melody, the Doctor, and I all ran after Caroline, who was surprisingly fast. She glanced back and muttered, "Crap," and swung around the corner.

Melody, being the fastest, instantly turned down the corridor, but all of the sudden, she yelped. The Doctor and I caught up to her and bent down next to her. "You okay?" the Doctor asked her. She nodded and pointed upwards. I glanced up. "Oh, well then..."

Caroline stood there, holding a bat. How she got that, I had no clue. "You weren't supposed to followed me," she said with a pout.

"You hit her!" the Doctor exclaimed, helping Melody to her feet.

"She deserved it."

"That's just wrong!" I said. "Why were you even tied up?"

"That's none of your business," Caroline snarled. "Keep your noses out of it or I'll break them."

"No, thanks," Melody mumbled. She was leaning heavily against the Doctor. "Think...might've...got concussion. You...hit...hard."

"Shut up," Caroline snapped.

"Gladly," Melody squeezed her eyes shut. "Ohhh...."

Caroline opened her mouth to say more, but heavy footsteps came  down the hall. Caroline's eyes widened in fear and she took a step back. "Oh, no, no, no, no...." she whispered.

A large man came around the corner, running at top speed. Caroline took a step back, but his arms wrapped around her. "No!" she screamed. "Let me go!"

"How'd...you...get...free?" the man bellowed, struggling to keep a grip on Caroline, who was squirming like a bug.

"They did! Arrest them!" Caroline screeched. "Not me...I did nothing...please! Help me!"

Her milky eyes met mine. They were pleading.

"What are you doing to her?" I shouted. "She's just a little girl!"

"A little girl who let out the most dangerous pathogen known to mankind to Earth-on purpose," the man said.

"It was an accident, please, let me go, I've done no harm..." the girl sobbed.

"'Done no harm'?" the Doctor repeated incredulously. "You've given my daughter a concussion!"

"Who are you?" the man asked, eyeing us suspiciously. "I've never seen you before."

"Could ask you...the same," Melody muttered.

"We're new," the Doctor said. "My friend Clara and my daughter Melody. And I'm the Doctor."

"Well, we need a doctor around here," the man said. "I'm Ty. Welcome to the quarantine."

Hey, sorry for the extremely long update! Over a couple months, I'd guess? So sorry. I haven't been getting on the computer lately, and I've had a wonderful writer's block! On other news, how do you like the new cover for Lost? Looks pretty good, huh?
