Everyone from the metkayina clan had woken up from there slumber and started getting to work. Tonowari and his wife had already left flying above everyone else on their ilu. Aonung left to go to his best friend Rotxo. That just left Tsireya and Neyra to hang out.
Neyra had been laying on the soft shore for a while now playing the the sand particles in her hand or the little sea animal floating around. It had been a little while sitting in the sand Neyra disconnecting from the world for a few minutes, till she was knocked out of her faze, by her older sister.
"Come on let go swimming, it'll be more fun then just sitting here in the water." Tsireya told her younger sister. Neyra agreed to go with her, a weird feeling never leaving the bottom of her stomach.
The girls both got onto their ilu and went flying around the reef, taking breaks to look at all the sea creatures living among them. "Look at that one reya, it's upside down." Neyra loved all the didn't matter if they looked lopsided or colourful, she loved them all.
...
Suddenly out the corner of Neyra's eye, she could see 5 banshees flying above them, all landing on a sandlot out the from of all the huts. One of the metkayina people sounded the horn letting everyone know there were newcomers,
"Come on, come on, Tsireya, there's newcomers. Come on!" Neyra screamed, she always loved meeting new people. Both girls taking off on their ilu, riding in the water till they get out to greet the newcomers. Everyone surrounding them. Aonung moved from behind the people to in front to get a good look at them.
The newcomers were all a darker shade of blue then them, blue stripes covering their bodies instead of intricate patterns like them, they all had thinner bodies and tails, three of them had 5 fingers instead of 4 with confused the younger girl.
Rotxo followed aonung, the two teenage looking boys stuck their hands out from their forehead out towards aonung, a symbol meaning, "I see you" a sceptical look on his face as the boys greeted them. Both the blue boys looked questioning to aonung.
"Easy, just be cool." The tallest one told his family, he was probably the father, Neyra thought. "Is that supposed to be a tail?" Rotxo asked, him and aonung laughing at them.
Neyra and Tsireya had finally landed next to the group of people, lightly drying themselves off, coming out of the water. The blue boys looking towards them, Neyra laughed at them, both the blue boys look towards her, the younger looking one staring at her a little longer. Probably the younger one looked down, his supposedly older brother looked towards him a smirk growing at his lips.
"Stop that, you morons! Be respectful." Tsireya told her brother and his friend, Neyra just laughed at them getting scolded by her. "Hey." The younger one said to Neyra, she just smiled at him then looked down. Waiting for her parents to join them and greet the new comers.
Both her parents flew down from their ilu, making a big splash, her father chief tonowari, called out, before landing, her mother ronal just behind.
At her greeting the blue man, both of them telling each other "I see you", "I see you ronal" The rest of his family copying him. Your mother eyeing them all suspiciously as if she doesn't trust them at all.
"Why do you come to us?" My father questions them, wanting to know why forest Na'vi has come to us, water na'vi. "A sanctuary for my family." The guy told them, jake sully.
"We are reef people, you are forest people, your skills will be nothing here." As you father said that you could see out the corner of your eye your mother looking at them in distrust, a nervous feeling now at the bottom of her stomach.
"We will learn you ways, adapt. Right?" He turned to his family, you could tell the plea in his voice. "Yes." His wife agreed with him. As she said that your mother moved from out behind your father, inspecting to newcomers.
She looked at their tails and their hands, which made the women she was inspecting to turn around and look at her inspecting their family. "Their arms are thin, their tails are weak, you'll be slower in the water, these children," he looked at their hands, and held them up for all to see. "They're not even true Na'vi." She screeched.
"Yes we are", the only young girl spoke back to mother, "they have demon blood!" Mother added on, when she said that everyone backed away, except Tsireya, Aonung, Tonowari and his youngest Neyra. The blue boy looked down, from how close you were, you could tell he looked sad or even hurt, maybe even more ashamed from what your mother said.
"Look, look.." jake sully showed his hands to everyone proving that he is also different. "Look I was born with the sky people, but now I am Na'vi, right you can adapt, we will adapt, ok." The father was trying to prove to their parents that they can change.
"My husband was Toruk Makto, he lead the clans to victory against the sky people." The mother told ronal, hoping she would let them stay. "This so call victory, hiding amongst strangers, it seems Eywa has turned her back on you, the chosen one." Your mother finished. The other woman sneering at her words towards her husband. Your mother doing the same to her, instead of a little fight, Toruk Makto stepped in before anything happened.
"I apologise for my mate, she's-" but before he could finish the women spoke for him. "Do not apologise." She told her husband, Toruk Makto. "She's flown a long way and she's exhausted" he finished anyway.
The wife, turned back to where she stood before. "Toruk Makto is a Great War leader, all na'vi people know his stories, but we metkayina, are not at war. We cannot let you bring your war here." My father spoke to everyone. He was right though, we can't lose our home because they were being hunted.
"I'm done with war, ok, I just want to keep my family safe" jake told the metkayina clan. His wife agreeing. My parents faced each other, everyone around including us stared at them as they made their decision together. "Shh, it'll be ok." Jake told his youngest, she was adorable. After persuading from your father your mother finally nodded her head, agreeing that the newcomers were allowed to stay with them. "Papà maybe they can stay for a little while?" Neyra battered her lashes, knowing her father would fall for her and give in to her wishes with that simple movement.
"Toruk Makto, and his family. Will stay with us, treat them as our brothers and sisters, they do not know the sea, so they will be like babies, taking their first breath. Teach them our ways so they do not suffer the shame of being useless." My father told everyone, it was settled they were staying with us, that means new friends. And getting to know the new kids better, especially that boy...
"What do you say?" Jake asked his family them all replying with thank you's. The littlest one first. The rest following. "My son, Aonung, my daughters, Tsireya and Neyra, will show your children what to do." Tonowari told the new family. "But father-" aonung told him clearly not liking the idea. "Aonung." I told him sternly for not being kind to the new family. Neyra nudged her brother, letting him know to be kinder, those other kids might not be happy either, but they all had to get used to each other.
"It's decided" father told him, a look of dismay making its way onto Aonung's face. "Come we'll show you our village." I told the family, Tsireya following behind me gesturing for them to follow us to their new home.
