Chapter Six

"Oh, fok, hierdie teef," I muttered with a shake of my head.

Kyriel shot me a mildly confused frown as I glared at the woman who had spoken. Sun kissed highlights glowed in between the long strawberry blonde waves of her hair as she shook her head before pursing her pink round lips and narrowing her baby blue eyes at me in a glare. The excessively low-cut turquoise dress she wore clung to the voluptuous curves of her body and was criminally short which the six-inch matching strappy heels did little to help with besides make it more likely that each step flashed her underwear. Which I could swear it did as Bridget Taylor strutted down the stairs to make her way over to me with her flunkies, Melani and Melana Gibson, close on her barely covered tail.

The sisters always followed behind Bridget and this time was no different. The identical twins' long brown delicate curls bounced as they strutted behind their Bitch Queen, their cerulean eyes were trained on me in a similar glare while their pink rosebud lips were pressed into a thin line. They dressed little better than their leader, in blue denim hot pants and skin tight white crop tops that showed off their lean bodies coupled with white gladiator heels that elongated their thin legs. The only difference in the girls' appearance was the silver necklaces they wore bearing their respective names.

Kyriel leaned down to ask, "Who the fuck are these girls?"

"Tewe," I mumbled, glancing at him.

Kyriel frowned, "What?"

"Bitches." I sighed, "They are bitches."

"Are you sure they're not call girls?" Kyriel asked.

"I wouldn't put it past them." I muttered, "But, they don't need to be, they have mommy and daddy money."

"Huh, so they are students here," Kyriel grunted.

I sighed, "Unfortunately."

A moment later Bridget stopped in front of us with a hand on her hip and a condescending look plastered on her face as she glared at me. I rolled my eyes at her; if her nose was any higher it would be signalling aliens to come down and invade Earth. This was a relatively normal occurrence, Bridget would run across me or find me and attempt to intimidate me with her bitchiness and I would find her attempts laughable and often not worth my time.

"So, are you looking to go back home, jungle girl?" Bridget asked in a snotty tone.

I sighed, "First of all, South Africa is mainly grasslands with some wetlands and mountains scattered about, so your new nickname is just stupid and secondly, to answer your question... no, I plan on staying here for a while."

Bridget rolled her eyes, "Whatever. I was just asking since you're bunking lectures and that student visa depends on you going to school and keeping up your grades, so maybe I should go tell Dean Howards about this."

"Okay." I offered her a cold smile, "Go ahead. Tell her. I'll be happy to see your face when she explains just how much of an idiot you are and how sticking your nose in other people's business can get you bitten."

"Please, you're not that important to Dean Howards that she'll overlook you bunking," Bridget scoffed.

Kyriel decided to interject at that moment, "Actually, she was referring to having permission to be out of lectures so she could show me around Otis. I've just enrolled."

Bridget slid her gaze off of me and pinned it onto Kyriel. Her baby blue eyes grazed over him as she appraised the man standing next to me as though she hadn't noticed him when she decided to try to out bitch me. A slow smile pulled at her round lips as she shifted her gaze up to Kyriel's face and I couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for the both of them. Kyriel because Bridget would no doubt try to flaunt her body at him while flirting like a street side whore. Bridget because I could already tell from Kyriel's expression that he thought less of her than he did of me. This would be amusing.

"Oh, you just enrolled?" Bridget fluttered her eyelashes at him.

Kyriel frowned, "I did just say that."

Bridget flashed him a grin, "Well, this is my second year here in school, so I could help out by showing you around while Tya goes back to her lectures."

"Well, Kyle? What do you say?" I smirked at Kyriel.

"I'd be a much more fun tour guide than the little foreign girl," Bridget prompted with a wink.

Kyriel's lips lifted in a smile as he leaned down and motioned with his finger for the strawberry blonde to come closer, "I wouldn't touch an infant like you if it could save my life."

Bridget stepped back with a frown, before a smile broke out across her face as though the man's words didn't deter her. She proceeded to move her arms in a way that pushed up her breasts and accentuated her overly generous cleavage, before leaning forward to make sure Kyriel could get a good look. I rolled my eyes at her attempts to gain his attention even though he looked at her with an expression of utter boredom.

Bridget fluttered her eyelashes and smiled, "Does this look like the body of an infant to you?"

"Yeah, she's the most gorgeous girl on campus... no, in the city," Melani spoke up for her leader.

Melana giggled, "You could see it up close and personal if you want."

"You won't regret it if you do," Melani nodded in agreement with her twin.

Melana grinned, "And you will make all the guys jealous of you."

"See?" Bridget grinned, pleased with herself and her lackeys, "So what do you say?"

Kyriel looked unimpressed as he sighed and said, "I see you girls have trouble understanding the concept of the word 'no' and words of similar meaning. I hear that can be a common trait amongst toddlers and infants, so I can explain it to you if your small minds haven't come across this concept yet."

Bridget finally seemed to get the message and she wasn't pleased from what I could tell. The strawberry blonde stepped back with a look of utter outrage twisting her usually pretty face. She certainly wasn't used to being rejected by a man, especially when she basically offered him sex on a silver platter. I couldn't help the smirk that toyed at the corner of my lips at the look of disbelief and fury that danced within her expression. She definitely had it coming for a long time and even if this was all in my head, I relished the look on her face.

"Oh, well that explains things," Bridget said coolly.

Kyriel arched an eyebrow, "Does it now?"

"Yes." Bridget nodded, before shrugging, "You're a freak. I mean, you would have to be crazy to want to hang out with the foreigner."

I rolled my eyes, "Because you are such a delight."

Bridget glared at me, "I'm gorgeous, any man that rejects me to go with you is crazy. You're like so plain and boring to look at."

Kyriel frowned before he grabbed me by the jaw and lifted my face towards him properly. I frowned and glared at him while he seemed to study me. I didn't know what he was doing, but I somehow figured it had something to do with Bridget's petty comment. I gave him a few seconds of studying before I stepped back out his grasp and slapped his hand away.

"Don't touch me like that again," I pursed my lips.

Kyriel ignored me and addressed Bridget while pointing at me, "She is plain? I'm sorry, but are you blind or just stupid? Oh, wait no, you are jealous because she's pretty, has nice hair and, to top it off, amber eyes. An extremely rare eye colour to have and in comparison, you're just a common painted up doll while she's more of a rare collector's item."

Bridget's face morphed into one of fury again, "A common painted up doll?!"

"I didn't ask you to defend me!" I snapped at Kyriel.

It was Bridget's turn to be ignored as Kyriel asked me, "Were you just going to let her get away with that comment?"

"Yes." I said, folding my arm, "Why should I waste my time on someone who is a waste of the oxygen she breathes? There's no point in getting involved more than possible with someone like that."

"I agree completely, darling. It really is a pain when those beneath you think they can waste your time and energy," said an unfamiliar and unearthly voice that was both masculine and feminine in sound and tone.

"What the hell is that?" Bridget whispered in fear.

The Gibson twins shrieked and clung to each other, their eyes wide with fear as they looked at something behind me. A chill ran down my spine as I saw Bridget shaking with fear and heard Kyriel curse loudly. I slowly turned around and found it difficult to breathe as my heart raced at breakneck speed in reaction to the monstrous creature that stood before me.
