Chapter 41 *Bonus Chapter*
(I found this image in pinterest and its so aghghghhgg yk so I wanted to share in case you haven't seen it)
Gia had always been a lively and outgoing girl, and as she grew older, it was only natural that she would start making friends outside of the family. But when she announced that she wanted to bring a friend from school home, you could sense a mix of excitement and nervousness in her voice.
As the day of the visit approached, you couldn't help but feel thrilled that your daughter had reached this milestone in her life. It was a sign that she was growing up, making connections, and becoming her own person. Of course, you knew that the day would come when she'd have friends over, but it still caught you a bit off guard.
Goku, on the other hand, was less enthusiastic about the idea. He wasn't against Gia having friends, but he was rather protective of his little girl. You could see the worry in his eyes as he fidgeted with his gi, a clear sign that he was trying to contain his unease.
Vegeta, as the ever-vigilant uncle, had taken it upon himself to discreetly investigate this "friend" of Gia's. He'd been quietly observing the boy from a distance, occasionally grumbling about how he'd never trust anyone near his niece. But he, too, understood the importance of Gia's social life and decided to keep his overprotective tendencies in check.
The day finally arrived when Gia's friend, Aiden, was due to visit. You made sure everything was ready at home, from snacks to a clean living room. You wanted Aiden to feel welcome, and more importantly, you wanted Gia to know that you supported her budding friendships.
When the doorbell rang, Gia practically flew to answer it. She had been talking about Aiden for days, and it was evident that they'd become fast friends at school.
Aiden, a polite and well-mannered boy, greeted you with a shy smile. "Hi, Mrs. Y/N, thank you for having me over."
You returned the smile warmly. "It's our pleasure, Aiden. Please, come on in."
As you led Aiden into the living room, you could hear Goku and Vegeta exchanging hushed words in the background. They were clearly discussing the situation, and you knew that they were trying to put on their best protective father and uncle personas.
Gia had no such reservations. She was eager to show Aiden around the house and introduce him to her family. When she finally led him into the living room, her eyes lit up as she proudly gestured to her dad and her uncle.
"Aiden, this is my dad, Goku, and my uncle, Vegeta. Dad, Uncle, this is Aiden, my best friend."
Goku offered a somewhat forced smile, doing his best to appear friendly. "Hey there, Aiden. Nice to meet you."
Vegeta, however, was less subtle in his approach. "You better treat her with respect, kid," he said, his arms crossed and a stern look on his face. "Or you'll have me to answer to."
Aiden, though visibly nervous under Vegeta's intense gaze, managed to nod. "I promise, Mr. Vegeta, I'll be a good friend to Gia."
You couldn't help but chuckle inwardly at Vegeta's protectiveness. Despite his tough exterior, he had a soft spot for Gia and wanted nothing but the best for her.
Gia seemed unfazed by her uncle's warning and quickly changed the topic to something more light-hearted. She suggested that they all watch one of her favorite movies, an animated adventure that she and Aiden had bonded over at school.
As the movie played on the screen, you observed the group. Goku was trying his best to engage in small talk with Aiden, albeit somewhat awkwardly. Vegeta, still in his protective uncle mode, kept a close eye on the two kids, occasionally muttering something about "whippersnappers" under his breath.
The movie seemed to be a hit, and soon enough, Goku and Aiden were sharing laughs and popcorn. Vegeta, ever vigilant, appeared to relax slightly as he observed the interaction.
You couldn't help but smile at the scene. Gia had brought her friend home, and despite the initial reservations, it seemed like things were going well. Goku, Vegeta, and you may have had your concerns, but ultimately, you were thrilled to see Gia forming friendships and growing up.
As the credits rolled and the movie came to an end, Gia turned to you with a grin. "Thanks, Mom. I'm glad I could bring Aiden over."
You leaned over to give her a gentle kiss on the forehead. "Anytime, sweetheart. We're always here to support you."
Goku, still a bit unsure about the situation but seeing how happy Gia was, couldn't help but smile. "Yeah, Gia. You're welcome to have your friends over anytime."
Vegeta, in a rare moment of sentimentality, ruffled Gia's hair. "Just remember, we've got our eyes on you, kid."
Aiden laughed nervously but nodded, clearly understanding the protective nature of the family.
As the evening continued, it became clear that Gia's choice in friends was a good one. Aiden fit right in with the family, sharing stories and laughter. Goku and Vegeta might have been overprotective, but they were learning to embrace this new phase of Gia's life, one friendship at a time.
By the time Aiden's visit came to an end, Goku had even offered to teach him a few martial arts moves, much to Gia's delight. Vegeta had begrudgingly admitted that Aiden wasn't a bad kid after all.
As you waved goodbye to Aiden, you couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. Gia was growing up, and she was making friends who would undoubtedly be a part of her life for years to come. While the protective instincts of Goku and Vegeta were ever-present, they too recognized that Gia was on her way to becoming an independent young woman.
And as you closed the door behind Aiden, you couldn't help but smile at the thought of more friends and laughter filling your home in the future. Gia's world was expanding, and you were grateful to be a part of it every step of the way.
--------
Several years had passed since Aiden first visited your home with Gia. Over time, he had become an integral part of your family. What had started as a childhood friendship had blossomed into something deeper, and now, as teenagers, Gia and Aiden were inseparable.
On a sunny afternoon, Aiden made his way up the winding mountain path to your home. He was determined, his heart pounding as he rehearsed the words he wanted to say. The air was filled with the songs of birds, and the gentle rustling of leaves in the wind created a peaceful ambiance.
When Aiden finally reached your doorstep, he took a deep breath and knocked on the door. Goku answered with his usual warm smile, his simple attire contrasting with the serene surroundings.
"Hey, Aiden! What brings you here today?" Goku asked cheerfully.
Aiden hesitated for a moment but then squared his shoulders, reminding himself of the purpose of his visit. "Mr. Goku, there's something I'd like to talk to you about."
Goku's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Sure thing, Aiden! Come on in."
As they settled on the porch, Aiden cleared his throat nervously. "Well, Mr. Goku, I've been thinking a lot about my future, and there's something I'd like to ask you."
Goku scratched his head, momentarily puzzled. "Ask me? About what?"
Aiden took a deep breath and looked Goku straight in the eye. "I'd like to ask for your permission to marry Gia."
At first, Goku blinked in confusion, his brows furrowing. Then, a moment of realization washed over him. "Oh, marriage! Right, I remember that. Sure, you have my permission."
Aiden's eyes widened with relief and gratitude. "Thank you, Mr. Goku. Your blessing means a lot to me."
Before Goku could respond further, you burst through the door, having overheard the conversation. Your eyes were shining with excitement as you wrapped Aiden in a tight hug. "Oh, Aiden, that's wonderful news! I'm so happy for you two!"
Aiden couldn't help but chuckle at your enthusiasm. "Thank you, Mrs. Y/N."
Just then, Goten, who still lived at home and had been curious about the commotion, appeared from his room. He yawned and rubbed his eyes, looking a bit disoriented.
"What's all the noise about?" Goten asked, a quizzical look on his face.
You couldn't contain your joy and immediately spilled the beans. "Aiden just asked for Goku's permission to marry Gia, Goten! They're getting married!"
Goten's eyes widened in surprise, and a slow grin spread across his face. "Whoa, that's awesome, Aiden! Congrats!"
Goku, still processing the situation, gave Aiden an approving nod. "Yeah, congrats, Aiden. You're becoming part of the family!"
As Aiden thanked them both, you couldn't help but feel your heart swell with happiness. The future was unfolding before your eyes, and you couldn't wait to see the love and adventures that lay ahead for Gia and Aiden
