Some time had passed since that day and life had been pretty peaceful, you were at least 3 months pregnant and you were now experiencing the pleasantries of pregnancy.

Yay.

Your morning sickness was the one part you looked forward to, at least it was consistent, over the past month you had begun to notice changes, morning sickness being the first followed by, swollen feet, backaches, and headaches, and you found a lot of your energy just wasn't there like it was.

You had talked to Bulma about it after Goku's relentless bugging and hovering, he had noticed the change of energy in the 2nd month but you told him you were fine. It worked until he caught you catching your breath after just looking to get something from the kitchen.

She said that it was something similar to what she went through, she gave you some medication that she took and it helped but you had to take it easy, which wasn't something that was easy for you.

You didn't like being told what to do or how to do it, and lately, it just felt like you couldn't do anything yourself without someone worrying.

You were currently sitting on a blanket reading one of the books Bulma gave you, you were at the lake by the house because the boys wanted to go fishing before dinner and Goku didn't want you to be alone in the house.

"MOM!" Gotens voice brought your head out of the book, you put your finger in the page and looked around to see no one.

"Goten? Goku?" You looked side to side not seeing anyone

"We are right here" Goten laughed

You blinked your eyes thinking maybe you were getting bad vision, you looked around again before remembering to turn around

You swiveled in your spot to see Goten holding up a big fish with a proud-looking Goku beside him

"Oh wow! That's huge! I think that's bigger than any fish I've seen your dad catch" You gave Goku a teasing look

"Hey! I can catch a bigger fish!"

You and Goten broke out into laughter at his competitiveness, when you stopped laughing Goten looked at you with wide hopeful eyes

"Can we have it for dinner?"

"Of course!" You smiled making Goten jump up and down with joy

"Race you home Dad!" He took off running with the fish over his shoulder

You went to get up when a backache started making you falter

"Hey I got you," Goku said while grabbing your arm and helping you up, and then grabbing the stuff on the ground

"Thank you but I could have done it," you said trying to grab the stuff from him

"Nuh uh I'm gonna carry this back" he held it away from you, out of your reach so your grabs to get it were useless

"Why can't I do it?" you questioned, a hint of annoyance in your voice.

"You can I just don't want you to" Goku shrugged, extending his arm as an invitation to walk back together

"Fine," you conceded, interlocking your arm with his and proceeding toward the house, where an eager young chef awaited the chance to cook his prized fish.

You were currently laying on the couch, you had made dinner when you guys got back and fed the three of you, Goku and Goten wanted to go do some training so they were currently out of the house.

You had a movie on the tv and were snuggled into a nest of blankets when your phone rang from somewhere in the pile. You threw a few blankets off of you before you were able to find it, you paused the movie before bringing the phone up to your ear.

"Hello?"

"Hey y/n!" You recognized Bulma's voice

"Hey, Bulma! What's up!"

"I just wanted to ask if you wanted to come over tomorrow? We got some new advanced medical equipment and we are able to tell the gender of your baby with it! If you guys are waiting to find out that's totally understandable so I won't push but I thought I'd ask"

"Umm I think it would be fine, I'll ask Goku when he gets back inside but I'll let you know in the morning if that's okay?" you asked while wondering to yourself if you wanted to know

(Boy or girl? what do you think ?) ->

"That's totally fine! Oh Vegeta I'm just telling y/n about the machine" You heard Bulma talk to Vegeta through the phone. You heard him say something to Bulma to which she tried to refuse and you heard him take the phone out of her hand

"You should find out" Vegetas voice came through the line 

"Why? Part of me thinks a surprise would be fun" You repositioned the phone as you sat yourself up more comfortably as you considered the conversation.

"Just you should find out y/n" he said in flat serious tone

"Vegeta?" You asked 

"He finally gave me back the phone sorry about that y/n" Bulmas voice came through the line

"Ah that's okay, we'll have a good night Bulma I'll talk to you in the morning, I think the boys are coming in soon and I want to relish this alone time" you chuckled

"I don't blame you these sayian men can be quite big hoverers" she giggled

"I AM NOT A HOVERER" you heard Vegeta's voice again through the line

"Yes you are, have a good night y/n" 

"You too Bulma" You let out a laugh at the couple and ended the call.

You sat there thinking for a bit, Why did Vegeta want you to find out? That question stayed on your mind as you turned your attention back to the tv and resettled in your spot.

An hour passed, and the house entrance burst open, revealing Goku and Goten, both sporting scratches and looking exhausted.

"Here let me get you guys something" You went to get up to be stopped by a Goku appearing in front of you pushing your shoulders down so you'd sit back on the couch "What are you doing? You guys looked exhausted let me take care of you"

"We are fine, just scratched up, we ran into Piccolo so Goten and he went against me in a 2v1 spar, I'll tell you about it after I put Goten to bed" you went to protest but he stopped you "Nope you do it all the time, let me help you" he gave you smile, you stopped fighting him taking a seat back on the couch and watched as he disappeared further into the house with Goten.

You looked over at where they just came from to see the door still open, you pushed yourself up and made your way to the door to close it and on your way back you spotted Goku looking confused.

Goku finished helping Goten and made his way back to the living room to join you on the couch but only to see it empty "Hey! Where'd you go?" He spun around looking for you spotting you walking back from the door

"Was someone at the door?" He asked meeting you halfway

"No, but you wieners forgot to close it" You gave him an annoyed smile

"Haha sorry Y/n, I'll make it up to you" Before you could ask him what he meant he had already swept you off your feet and was heading for the couch

"This isn't gonna be a regular thing. I'm very capable of walking especially in our home" You smacked his shoulder

"Ow don't hit me" he whined "I'm just trying to make it easier for you"

"I know but I'm a very independent woman" you pouted as he set you down on the couch and took a spot beside you

"I can see that but I wasn't the best father when Chi was pregnant with the boys and I want to make sure things are different this time" he pulled you into his chest for a hug.

"I understand, but right now isn't even that bad, my stomach gonna get three times the size of this and all my pains will be worse, right now it's very bearable, just an inconvenience"

"Either way you ain't getting me off your tail" he spoke into your ear not releasing you from the hug

"I'm beginning to see that" you mumbled

The two of you sat there in silence, not an awkward silence but a comforting one just enjoying the moment. 

"Can I talk to it?" Goku asked tilting his head and looking down at you, you looked at him for a moment before you understood what he meant

"I uh guess" You watched as Goku knelt down beside the couch and lowered his head to your stomach which looked basically normal.

"Hi little guy! Or girl! It's your Dad! I can't wait for you to be born, there are so many things that me and your mom will show you and I know your brothers are excited to meet you too!" Goku's voice held a mixture of anticipation and affection not taking his view off your stomach,

Watching this made your heart explode and you felt your cheeks burn and your stomach start to tingle.

"Hey Goku?" 

"Hmm?" Goku looked up, meeting your gaze.

"Bulma called and asked if we wanted to use her new equipment to find out what we're having, also my brother said I should but I told them I'd ask you first"

"I wouldn't mind knowing! Make preparing a little more fun when you know" he smiled at you before placing a kiss on your bare stomach and pulled down your shirt

"Okay! we can go tomorrow then?" You asked sitting up

"Yeah of course we'll go after we wake up, Piccolo said something about taking Goten with him and Gohan tomorrow to train"

"Oh that's nice of him" You let out a yawn and settled back into the couch, Goku stood up from the floor and looked over at you noticing the sleep in your eyes.

"Bed?" 

You nodded lifting your arms up, letting him help you this time.
