It was a windy day in MoonClan. It was like the sun was playing peek a boo with us in the clouds not wanting to be seen. Ashpaw missed her family but she thought that cats here treated her better so she stayed. She had her eyes fixed on the fresh kill pile while her stomach was rumbling with hunger.

Hmmm I wonder if I should ask the leader if I need to hunt, thought Ashpaw. She padded up the high rock and I front of the leaders den waiting for her command to let her in. "Come in" said MorningStar. "What can I do for you".

"Well I was wondering if we need more fresh kill. So I was going to hunt?"
"No we will have a ceremony this morning for you to get your mentor."
"What's a mentor?"
"It's someone you teaches you how to hunt and do things just like the clan."

"Do every apprentices get one?"
"Yes they do."
"That's even better! Thanks MorningStar."
"Your welcome."
Later that day it was time for the ceremony. Ashpaw was sitting tall and proud next to the leader looking down at her as if she were her own  kit. "Everyone  come beneath the high rock." The leader yowled. Cats came forth looking at me and smiling gratefully that I was there.

" Ashpaw will receive her apprentice. It will be Darktail!" Ash paw sat straight up while looking at Darktail coming towards the high rock. She mumbled to herself he does look happy, proud and exited. Maybe I'll like him and we can be great friends, she thought excitedly.
