47 hrs and 50 mins
 

  When I get to the precinct I run in and rush over to see Captain Rogers. I see him sitting at his desk sifting through a pile of solved case files reviewing them. I slam the door open so hard that he jumps and stands up abruptly pointing his gun at me.

     “Detective McClarey, what the hell is wrong with you, you never startle a man or woman who has a weapon. Have I taught you nothing.”
    “I’m so sorry Sir but it’s an emergency, I got a phone call this morning from an unknown number and the guy said he had a little girl named Carly Hart and that we had 48 hours to find her before he killed her.” I say hurriedly panting out of breath from running and talking so fast.
     “Okay do me a favor and slow down a little bit how long ago did you get the phone call and how do you know the man who called you was legit, it could have been a prank.”
    “I got the call like twenty mins ago. It seemed pretty legit sir. He even put the girl on the phone.
     “Alright you can at least check it out get the girls parental address, phone number and get in contact with them.”
    “Thank you Sir for letting me at least check it out to make sure its an actual concern.”
     “Your welcome. Now get out of my office I have paperwork to do.”
