Danny needs to be protected from his friends.

"Danny I'm gonna kick your butt!" Danielle declared holding her controller in their air.

"Oh? We'll see about that!" Danny said laughing.

The five played the game vigorously, laughing and yelling. Tucker lost first, followed by Valerie, and then Sam. The two halfa's continued battling in the game, locked in a tie. Tucker and Sam sat on the sofa definitely 'not' cuddling, as they watched the two Dannys' fight on the screen. Valerie was seated behind Dani, snuggling her and cheering her on.

"Phantasma loses Badger wins!" The screen announced after Danny pulled out a secret move winning the game.

Danny cheered before doing a victory dance as Danielle sat on the couch growling and trying to look upset while attempting not to laugh at her brother's dancing.

"Why do you always name your avatar Badger anyway?" She asked turning to Danny and giving him a fake glare.

"Because I'm always badgering ghosts and because I almost never lose if I have that name as the avatar." He replied shrugging.

'Yeah it's totally not because I always liked it when Vlad called me Little Badger, and because I always thought that it sounded like a pet name. That's totally not the reason why.' He added silently.

"And you," Danielle growled turning to Valerie and tackling her "You distracted me."

"Oh? How so?" Valerie asked, seeming not to notice that she was pinned to the couch by the girl.

"You just did!" was Danielle's brilliant response.

"Ügh, Dani quit it with your torrent of terror." Danny said facepalming and shaking his head in a 'Í can't believe these people' sort of way.

"But she did distract me!" Dani insisted though she did climb off of Valerie. "I'm hungry." she stated after, as she helped Valerie up.

"Nasty burger?" Valerie suggested

"Why not? After all, nasty is just one letter away from tasty" Tucker said laughing.

Sam groaned "Seriously Tucker? You're still going on with that?"

"Stop arguing already," Danny whined "it's already after five and I haven't even had lunch."

"Seriously dude? Why didn't you?" Tucker asked the idea of missing a meal incredulous in his world."

"Well gee Tucker, when you're fighting a robot ghost and getting the shit electrocuted out of you these things tend to slip you're mind." Danny said in his normal cheery voice.

"Ehehe... sorry." Tucker said.

The group of five shut off the game and walked the not so far distance from Sam's house and Nasty Burger. Danny being the gentleman he is, (proving that chivalry wasn't dead, just half dead) opened the door for the girls and Tucker. "Ladies and Tucker's first." He said before he was pushed inside the restaurant.

"Then get in lady." A familiar but not pleasant voice said followed by laughter. Danny got up and dusted his pants before facing the bully.

"Hello Dash, fancy seeing you here."

"Have a nice trip fag-ton?" Dash mocked.

It took all of Danny's self-control for his eyes not to flash green. "Wow Dash, did you think of that one all by yourself?" he deadpanned.

"I'm not sure if I should punch you or not, I don't hit girls."

"How very noble of you." Danny cast a quick glance at his friends and saw that they were staring at the scene from the doorway, though all of them, especially Danielle and Valerie looked like they were about to pounce, and Danny did not want to deal with anymore fighting for the rest of the day. Dash opened his mouth to hurl another insult and the halfa felt his resistance snap, his eyes turning green.

"Look Dash, I had to fight a metal robot bounty hunter ghost, got electrocuted repeatedly, almost got my head shot off multiple times, almost missed an important meeting with my friends, haven't eaten lunch and just got faceplanted for about the third time today. Don't fucking mess with me." Danny growled.

By the time he had finished talking his eyes were shining so brightly that the bully's face seemed to glow green. Dash's eyes widened to the point that Danny thought they might fall out of his skull and paled to the color of paper before elbowing his way past Danny's friends and fleeing the scene. The halfa sighed heavily and tucked some stray hair that had fallen in front of his eyes behind his ear like it was second nature. Danny looked back at his friends and blinked, eyes fading back to baby blue.

He smiled "Well, you guys coming?"

His friends looked at him; Danielle snickered and broke out laughing the others joining her in laughter.

Tucker, Sam, Valerie, Dani and Danny sat at the table talking and laughing as they ate their food. Tucker nearly choked on his burger when Sam did an impersonation of Dash in terror, causing everyone to burst into laughter again.

"Seriously Danny, you looked like something out of Miss Congeniality," Valerie laughed before quoting the movie. "'I am in a dress, I have gel in my hair, I haven't slept all night, I'm starved, and I'm armed! Don't mess with me!'"

Everyone laughed again.

"Well," Danny said while munching on a French fry. "You got the starved and armed part right."

"Ah! Don't forget the 'Don't mess with me.'" Dani added

"Hm, if I recall correctly wasn't it don't fucking mess me?" Sam said casually.

"True." Tucker agreed.

Danny tinted a bit. "Well I was hungry." He argued definitely not pouting.

"Dude, not even I get like that when I'm hungry." The techno geek pointed out.

"Well sorry; when I'm in pain my filter falls out." Danny huffed.

"Yeah, I hear that," Valerie agreed "Remember that time that you were fighting Technus and you got slammed into that electric billboard?"

The group laughed except for Danny who turned red in embarrassment before groaning and hiding his face in his hands. "You guys are mean!" he said, voice muffled by his hands.

"Good thing there weren't any news trucks around that time, would have been a rated R interview." Sam said laughing.

"Tucker, call Wulf and tell him to eat me, Valerie shoot me. Put me out of my misery."

"You are such a drama king." Dani said rolling her eyes grinning.

Danny lifted his face from his hands. 'Look who's talking; weren't you the one who threw a hissy fit and tackled your girlfriend just because you lost Doom?"

'Hey! She distracted me!" Danielle protested.

"Suuuure, blame the girlfriend." Valerie said crossing her arms in mock anger.

They finished their food, and decided to call it quits for that day, especially since no one wanted Danny to spontaneously combust into flames if Dash or some other ghost was unfortunate enough to cross his path after the run in with Skulker he had earlier. The five dropped Sam off at her house, Tucker giving her a good night kiss. Then they proceeded to walk to Tucker's house which was the next closest. Afterwards they went to the mayor's manor to drop off Valerie. Shortly after Tucker had been made mayor he resigned, realizing the job was not all it was cracked up to be and that he would actually have to work if he chose to stay. Before resigning though he had recommended Valerie's father for the position, since Mr. Grey had been the one who had helped him the most while he was in the office and definitely had the best ideas politically wise. Mr. Grey had been mayor since then and is one of the best and most efficient mayor Amity Park had ever seen.

"Good night princess." Danielle teased when they arrived at Valerie's house.

'Oh please, if anything I'm a knight. The princess title on the other hand would suit you very well." Valerie told her, smiling before giving her a kiss good night.

"Whatever." Danielle said after the kiss, crossing her arms and definitely not blushing at all. "So walk or fly?" she asked Danny after Val entered the house.

"Do you really have to ask?" he replied grinning already transforming.

"Not really." She giggled transforming as well.

The two took off to the sky, watching and feeling the world falling away. When Danny was little he used to compare jumping on a trampoline to flying. Now he didn't know how people could do such a thing. To him flying felt liberating, free with no restrictions or rules. On a trampoline you always felt the authority of gravity demanding you to come back down. But with flying... he felt free of gravity, of responsibilities, of the demands of life. All too soon (in Danny's opinion) they landed in front of Fentonworks and walked inside, transforming back.

"Mom! Dad! We're home!" Danny called in case his parents were working in the lab as usual.

"Hey kids!' Jack's voice boomed as he wrapped Danny into a fierce bear hug while Dani had been quick enough to move before being snared into the bone crushing hug.

"Dad, kinda need to breathe here.' Danny gasped.

"Opps! Sorry, Danny boy! Anyway there's a couple of ghosts here to see you two. That biker kid and his girl?"

"Johnny and Kitty!" Danielle said in delight.

"They're waiting in your room Danny." Jack said.

"You let them in my room?!" Danny screeched before racing up the stairs.

Danny had gotten to know Johnny and Kitty well over the years and one thing he knew was that they had absolutely no boundaries. He silently pleaded that they hadn't been digging through his closet and found a certain box. It contained some love letters he had written to Vlad when he was younger, and had no other way to communicate his feelings without accidently blurting them out loud. It also had a picture of Vlad smiling, actually smiling. Sure it had been because of Danny's clumsy teenage antics but he didn't care, it was a picture of the other smiling none the less. Danny threw open the door and burst into his room.

"If you guys messed with my stuff I'll-"

"Johnny!" Danielle squealed elbowing past Danny and jumping onto Johnny.

"Hey get off!" Johnny protested though he was clearly happy to see her.

Danny snickered from the doorway. While Johnny and Danny's were good friends, Danielle's with Johnny was different. The biker ghost treated Dani like a little sister and she was more than happy to fill that role.

"Okay," Kitty said deciding that her boyfriend had been tortured enough. "Get off him Dani, he's taken."

Dani stuck her tongue out at the green haired ghoul and climbed off of Johnny. "Well it just so happens I am too. Remember? I'm in a very committed relationship."

Johnny picked himself up. "Ooh, how committed we're talking here?" he said with a fake gasp as if he had just heard a scandalous piece of news.

Dani turned a fantastic shade of crimson causing Johnny to laugh before he was promptly tackled to the floor by her. Kitty let out a sigh of defeat and facepalmed. Danny giggled and took a seat next to her on his bed watching as Dani and Johnny wrestled.

"Hopeless aren't they?" Danny said to Kitty as he played with the end of his ponytail.

"Yeah they are." She agreed smiling.

"Fuckin hell!" Johnny shouted.

"Johnny! Stop cussing so loudly!" Kitty scolded.

"But she bit my hand! Shadow!!" Johnny's shadow came into the room from outside, pried Danielle off of him and held her down.

"Now for revenge!" he declared cackling before tickling her.

"Ah! N-no! Cut it out," Danielle laughed, as Johnny continued to tickle her relentlessly. "C-c'mon! I surrender! T-truce! Anything!" Johnny finally let up, his shadow releasing her. Dani immediately jumped up a smacked him upside the head.

"Ow! You little-"

"Truce starts now!" she yelled before diving behind Kitty for protection.

"Anyway, what's up? Why'd you guys come for a visit?" Danny asked.

"Do we even need a reason to come here anymore?" Johnny replied with a roll of his eyes.

"Not really" the halfa agreed grinning.

"Well, we wanted to know if Dani was ready for her first year of high school." Kitty said.

This year was going to be Dani's first year of high school, or even school in general. But their parents had agreed that she needed a proper education and exposure to interactions between people, though that last part was debatable. Not many people had ever seen Danielle before and Danny knew that might arouse some suspicion.

"Well not really to be honest," Danielle admitted. 'But Danny, Tucker, Valerie and Sam will be there so it will be okay. Even though they're seniors and I'm gonna be dropped right into sophomore level."

"But what are you going to say? You can't just mysteriously show up at school and say that you're Danny's little sister that nobody has heard of." Kitty pointed out, not seeing the 'cut it out' signs that Danny was throwing her way.

"Well," she began, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "We've already made up a cover story. And it's the truth, just cleverly worded. One, that I'm Danny's little sister, which I am. Two, when I was little I had an illness that kept me at home, I started recovering when I was twelve but our parents kept me at home to make sure I was completely cured. That is true too except I won't mention that the illness was that I was unstable and almost melted into ectoplasm. Three, since I was sick, I was home schooled. And... Vlad had home schooled me a bit so that's true as well. See? Just cleverly worded, that's all."

"What about legal documents and all that stuff?" By this time Danny had stopped sending Kitty the 'quit it' hand signals since she obviously wasn't paying attention.

"Oh, well Danny looked through Vlad's old mansion and found some false documents he had prepared for me." Dani replied.

"I feel so sorry for the teachers." Johnny sighed.

"Why?" The two Fentons asked practically simultaneously.

"Because their nightmares have come true!" Johnny said gesturing to Danny and Danielle. "Two Dannys! Geez you too even look scary similar. Danny you should get a haircut."

"Look who's talking! First Dash, now you! I'm leaving my hair like it is and that's final!" Danny huffed.

"Geez man, calm down! Rough day much?" Johnny said holding his hands up.

Danny realized his eyes had been glowing, blinked a couple of times, changing them back to normal and sighed. 'Yeah...had a not so pleasant run in with Dash." He said passing a hand through his hair.

"What'd he do?" Kitty asked.

"Did he do that? I could haunt him for you." Johnny asked gesturing to the cut on Danny's cheek.

"No that was Skulker." Dani said cutting in.

"Ugh, he's still hunting you? The son of a bitch." Johnny said growling.

"That's exactly what I said." Danny said grinning.

"Are you okay?" Kitty asked concerned.

Danny smiled affectionately at her, this was one of the things he loved about her, she could go from a friend, to a sister, to a mom in a heartbeat.

"Yeah this cut is the worst of it. That and I'll probably have a big bruise on my back." He said, leaving out the shoulder wound and the fact that he had been electrocuted.

"Man that guys a jerk!" Happiest day of my after life was when Ember dumped his tin ass. Well second happiest, first happiest was being reunited with Johnny of course." Kitty said.

"Aw," Johnny said giving Kitty a side hug "Thanks sunshine. But yeah, that guys an idiot, no wonder she dumped him."

"That, and the fact that he wears all that metal and armor has to be compensating for something." Danny said in a much too casual tone. Everyone exploded into a fit of laughter. "You're laughing cause it's true!" he accused laughing all the more.

The four of them talked, joked, laughed and told stories until it was almost midnight and Danny decided to call it quits.

"Alright guys –yawn- I'm tired and this is my room so if you don't mind me saying, out." Danny said rubbing his eye sleepily.

"Aw, he's so cute when he's sleepy.' Kitty said giggling.

"I'm not cute -yawn- I'm a ghostly vigilante and I'm –yawn- oh what the hell, I'm tired that's what I am right now." The others laughed.

"Okay, we'll leave," Johnny said. "Bye lil' cuz, bye lil' sis." Johnny and Kitty phased through the window of Danny's room and climbed onto Johnny's motorcycle that was suspended under it, proudly defying the laws of physics.

"What did I say about calling me little cuz?" Danny argued

Johnny revved up his motorcycle grinning. "Ah, Danny. Even sleepy you remain as prissy as always." He said before speeding away leaving a giggling Danielle and a fuming Danny behind.

"Someday I'm going to spray paint his motorcycle pink." Danny muttered.

"Johnny would kill you." Dani pointed out.

"Then I would die happy and come back as a full ghost to add glitter to the motorcycle."

"Johnny was right, you're still prissy as ever."

"When I said everyone out that included you." He deadpanned grinning.

"Meanie." She said, dramatically stomping out of the room and closing his door.

"Good night princess!" he called after her.

"Right back at you."

Danny smiled and rolled his eyes before making his way to the bathroom in his room, carefully closing its door behind him. He then made his way to the sink and began the task of scrubbing off the concealer that he used to cover up the electrical burns that ran up his left arm; permanent reminders of the day he had half died.
