Chapter 10: Friendly Games
Author's Notes:
While I was writing this I fell off of a chair, I think I broke my ass, just thought everyone should know XD
I feel dizzy now, I mean I didn't when I fell but i do know. 'XD
The others agreed with Danny's suggestion and walked to the park. Once arriving there Danny proceeded to make a kite out of ectoplasm and started flying it.
"Dude. Really?" Tucker deadpanned
The halfa shrugged. "What else I am supposed to? I don't want to just be stuck watching you guys make out." He then ducked to avoid getting hit by the rock Sam threw.
"Oh! Oh! That reminds me!" Danielle said before concentrating and making a glowing green rose of ectoplasm. She took a bow.
"Whoah," Valerie breathed. "You can do that now?"
"Yep!" Danielle replied, seeming to glow with pride as she presented the flower to the huntress who happily accepted it.
Danny had a stupid grin plastered on his face, feeling as if he were a parent who had just shown his kid how to ride a bike.
"You guys want to play volleyball?" Dani offered.
"Sure." Tucker said with a shrug.
Dani made a ball from ectoplasm which slipped from her hands and fell, making a dent in the ground.
"The fuck?" Tucker said dumbfounded.
"Opps, guess I'm a still having trouble controlling the density." Dani said embarrassed.
"Density can be hard to figure out." Her brother agreed. His hands glowed green and suddenly the kite he had been flying sunk from the sky like a rock, as a demonstration. Luckily there was no one around to get hit.
Sam picked up the 'volleyball'. "It weighs as much as bowling ball."
Danny placed a glowing hand on the ball which immediately got lighter and more rubber like. "Look at it this way Danielle, think of how I'm doing teleporting."
Dani giggled. "So crashing into walls counts as teleporting?"
"No seriously, so far I can only teleport when I'm panicked and need to get somewhere."
"Hey look at it this way Danny, now you'll never have an excuse for being late to school again" Valerie said
"Gee thanks." Danny said dryly.
"So what are the teams going to be?" Tucker asked.
"How about me with Danny and Sam and you with Valerie?" Dani offered.
"Works for me, bring it on!" Sam challenged.
Sam and Valerie were never on the same team when it came to sports; both were fierce players, they both loved challenging each other and they were both sore losers. Danny made a net out of ectoplasm which was basically just a flexible shield full of holes. The five played a tough game although at times it was just Sam and Valerie hitting the ball back and forth to one another while the others watched. In the end Sam's team won. Valerie did the mature thing: she blamed Tucker and chased him, screaming bloody murder to his technology. She chased him past Sam, Danny and Danielle where the ghost girl tackled the huntress to the ground.
"Hey, how's it going?" She asked Danielle, seeming not to notice that she was being sat upon by a sixteen year old girl.
"Why, just why?" Dani asked shaking her head, sighing.
"Aww, c'mon babe. It was Tucker's fault that I lost."
"I'm right here!" The geek called from the sidelines, mock insulted.
"You agreed to him being on your team!" Dani argued.
"Well you should let me know when I'm making bad choices."
"Not enough hours in the day."
"Ouch, need some cold water for that burn Val?" Danny called from the sidelines.
"Baaabbeee! That was mean." Valerie pouted with puppy eyes, ignoring Danny's comment.
Dani sighed. "Alright, alright, I'm sorry." She apologized before Valerie cut her off with a kiss.
"Apology accepted." Val said when she broke off the kiss.
Dani got off of her and helped her to her feet. Tucker was behind Sam and was definitely not using her as a shield.
"I promise I won't kill you when there are witnesses around." Valerie told Tucker.
"Good" he replied stepping out from behind his girlfriend.
"I said when there are witnesses around." She reminded, causing Tucker to hide behind Sam again.
"My mom told us to be home for dinner today, so Dani and I should probably start heading home to see if we can help out." Danny informed them.
"Danny can I hang out with Valerie a bit longer?" Dani pleaded with puppy dog eyes.
"Aww, not the cute eyes," he checked the time on his phone, it was four o'clock exactly. "Alright, just be sure to be home by six okay?"
"Yay!" Dan cheered, pumping a fist in the air.
Valerie transformed into her red huntress outfit. "Race ya to my house!" Valerie said speeding away on her hoverboard.
"Cheater!!" Dani called "I'm going ghost!" she transformed and zoomed after Valerie.
Tucker shook his head remembering. "Remember when you used to say that? It's so childish."
"Exactly." Danny said
"Eh?" Tucker and Sam said simultaneously, clearly confused.
"Forget it," Danny said. "You guys going to be okay here?"
"Yeah, no problem. We'll probably head back to my house." Sam replied
"Unless you want us to walk you home." Sam offered.
"Nah, I need to practice my teleporting anyway, but thanks. Bye"
"Good luck with that dude, bye." Tucker said grabbing Sam's hands and turning to start walking back to the house.
"Bye." Sam called over her shoulder.
"I'm going ghost." He muttered, smiling and transforming. He closed his eyes and visualized his room, his dressers, his bed, the closet, the windows. He concentrated and felt something. He opened his eyes and found that he was outside the window of his room which would have been fine if he hadn't been caught off guard; and if his room wasn't on the second floor.
"Shit!" He fell a story before turning on levitation, he flew back up to his window and phased through it. "Well that was fan fucking tastic."
"Hey baby pop."
He looked up to find Ember sitting on his bed, tuning her guitar.
"Hey Ember," Danny greeted, rubbing the back of his head, slightly embarrassed that his whole teleporting ordeal had been witnessed by the flame haired ghost.
"What, Tootsie roll isn't here?" Tootsie roll was Ember's nickname for Danielle.
"Nah, she's with her girlfriend. So why are you here? Visiting like Johnny and Kitty?"
"Kinda, I wanted to see if you wanted to do a concert with me at the local collage. If you're up for it that is. I know my ex gave you a beating yesterday."
Danny rolled his eyes. Kitty was one of the biggest gossips in the whole ghost zone and probably the whole world. Leave it her to tell ember what happened, and leave it to her to get the details wrong.
"He didn't give me a beating, I whooped his ass, and I only got a cut cheek and a bruise. Both of which are practically fine now."
"So concert?"
"Duh!" Danny said grinning and made an ice guitar, he preferred the ice ones to the ectoplasmic because to him the sound was better. Ember had taught him how to play guitar and he kicked ass! If he did say so for himself.
Danny and Ember flew to the collage which was mostly empty except for a few people checking into their dorms early, but soon enough they had attracted a pretty large crowd. For over two hours the two ghosts (along with ember's ghost band) rocked out. He only played guitar even though Ember encouraged him to sing. Only Dani, Ember, Sam, Kitty and Johnny had ever heard him sing. Although Johnny had only heard on accident. They all said that he had a beautiful singing voice, but he didn't believe them. So for the concert he played guitar, danced, flew around, acted like a goofball and ended up smashing his guitar when he got too carried away in one song. Danny turned bright green in embarrassment and made a new ice guitar while Ember laughed.
Ember and Danny had gotten close over the years, like how Johnny and Danielle were close. At the last song, Danny checked what time it was and nearly had a heart attack. Six fucking thirty one.
"EmbersorrybutIreallyneedtogookay?" Danny said in a rush.
"But they want an encore!" Ember whined
"Do it without me, sorry." Danny apologized before zooming away.
Author's Notes:
Translation to whatever the hell Danny said: Ember sorry but I really need to go okay?
