Chapter 6
"Lillian," Robin whispered, staring at the girl in front of him. She smiled at him.
"Dick," she said. He ran to her, and enveloped his sister in a hug. She put her arms around him. "I missed you," she said softly.
"I missed you too," Robin said. He let go of Lillian, stepping back and frowning a little as he took in his surroundings. "Where are we," Robin asked.
"This is the dream world," Lillian said. She lifted her hand into the clear sky surrounding them. A bird landed on her hand, and she smiled and stroked its head with one finger. She watched as it flew into the sky, smiling. The sunlight played on Lillian's face, lighting up half and leaving the other half in shadow. She looked exactly like Robin remembered her: large, dark eyes, pale skin, curly black hair pulled up in pigtails, white t shirt hanging off her shoulders and touching her knees, blue jeans covering her feet. This frustrated him. Robin had no idea what his sister looked like now, how tall she was, what she had done with her hair, if she wore glasses. He was stuck with a vision of what Lillian looked like when she was five.
"What's wrong, Dick," Lillian asked, dragging Robin away from his thoughts. "Aren't you happy to see me, big brother?"
"Yes, I'm happy to see you, Lilly. I always am. It's just...." Robin sighed.
"Just what," Lillian asked, moving to take his hand.
"I haven't seen you in ten years. I have no idea what you look like, or what's going on in your life. I feel like I don't know anything about you anymore." Lillian smiled at Robin.
"You know I'm your sister," she said, and Robin smiled.
"Yeah. I know that." Lillian opened her mouth to say something else, but she screamed instead. Lillian began to fade, and Robin reached out and tried to hold onto her. Lillian stared at Robin, eyes full of fear.
"We'll see each other again," she said. Robin nodded. Then Lillian vanished entirely. Robin was left standing alone in the middle of the field. He sighed and stared at the ground. "We'll see each other again," he whispered.

Robin woke up. He rubbed his eyes, then walked out of his room. Robin walked into the kitchen. "Morning, Robin," Cyborg said. Robin gasped.
"It's the morning? I slept all day?" he asked. Raven and Starfire nodded.
"You were pretty wiped out," Raven said.
"Why didn't any of you wake me up?" Beast Boy stared at Robin.
"Dude, are you kidding? You haven't slept in days. Did you really think we would wake you up when you were getting some much needed sleep?"
"No," Robin admitted reluctantly. Beast Boy nodded, then went back to inhaling his cereal. Robin poured himself a cup of coffee and sat down at the table. He stared into his cup. Starfire watched him, worried. One by one, the other Titans finished breakfast and left the kitchen. Robin just sat at the table, staring into his cup.
"Robin," Starfire asked, "are you alright?" Robin just stared into his cup. "Robin," Starfire tried again. Robin wouldn't look at her.
"When I was younger, my parents would let my sister and I drink coffee when we woke up. We always had to get up early, and the coffee energized us. Lillian...Lilly.... She always liked her coffee black." Robin smiled sadly, a tear sliding down his cheek. "No sugar, no cream, nothing. Just straight up black coffee." Robin stared into his coffee cup. "For Lillian," he said. Robin tipped his head back and downed the coffee in three gulps. He shuddered, then grinned. Starfire stared at him, unsure as to what she should do.
"I'll never understand why she liked it," Robin said, jumping up. Starfire frowned at Robin.
"What are you going to do now," she asked. Robin smiled at her.
"I'm going to Gotham," he said. "I'm going to see Lilly again."

Lillian opened her eyes with a gasp. Rose and Terra stared at her. Lillian was clutching her pendant, knuckles white. "What happened," Lillian asked. "Why did you scream?"
"We saw you...and your pendant was glowing. Your eyes....They were just holes full of green smoke. You were glowing, holding onto your pendant. And you were talking. Your voice was different, higher. After I screamed, it started to fade, and you screamed," Terra said.
"What were you doing," Rose asked. Lillian stared at them both.
"Contacting my brother," she answered. "What were you asking, Terra, before you screamed?" Terra swallowed.
"Why's Robin in this picture," she asked, pointing to the photo she was referring to.
"He's my brother," Lillian answered.
