Lilly's POV

I sit quietly in the back of the limo staring out the window, at the night sky. It's actually clear for once and I can see the stars. It's quiet inside except for the soft music playing and I feel a hand slide up my thigh.

"A penny for your thoughts, my love?"

"Just thinking about us, and how much I love you." I say.

"I love you too. Did you have fun tonight?"

"I did, and dinner was amazing."

"I'm so glad you did."

He leans over and kisses my cheek. As soon as he leans back, we are hit and the limo starts to spin until it comes to a stop and flips over on its side as it slides down a hill. When it comes to a stop the door flies open and we are both roughly pulled out. I see two large men that have grabbed us and a third that comes up with a needle that he sticks in my neck.

"My...looove"

"Leave her alone! She has nothing to do with this!"
I see him struggling to get to me as my eyelids feel heavy and I struggle to keep them open. It is a failed attempt and they close.

"AAAaahhh!" I scream as I sit up and realize I am in a hospital and it was all a bad dream, or was it? Could I be remembering? Nathan is quickly by my side as I wake up and my hair is wet with sweat.

"Your okay sweetheart, I've got you. You're safe."

"I think I dreamt of that man again. We were being kidnapped. It all seemed so real."

"When you feel up to it, we can go see my friend at the police station and start the process to hopefully find your family. Especially now that you are pregnant. They would want to know."

"Could we go tomorrow?"
"I think that would be fine. I will let him know."
"Thank you."
"Anything for you, sweetheart."
It wasn't too much longer and the doctor had come in to check on me. Once he had looked me over and everything was normal, he told me that he was going to release me and would be back in a few hours with all the release papers. As he walks out, Nathan's mom walks in with breakfast and a change of clothes for us both.

"Hey guys, Lilly how are you feeling this morning?"
"As well as someone who just found out they were pregnant and doesn't remember who the father is, I am great."

I feel a tear fall from my eye as Nathan takes my hand and gives it a gentle squeeze reminding me that I am not alone in this. I look over and give him the best smile I can hoping that he won't worry about me. I can see the sadness in his eyes. I hope that his friend can find out who I am and maybe my family. I hope that they are worried about me and looking for me too. There is a part of me that hopes maybe they won't be found. I don't think I will be able to leave him.

"I brought breakfast and stopped by your house to get you both a change of clothes."
"Thanks mom"
"Thank you. Are those pancakes I smell?"
"It certainly is."
"Oh yummy, gimme!"

"I hold out my hands for her to bring the food to me and she sets it on the tray for me. I quickly open it up and take in a deep breath, taking in the sweet smell of the pancakes and syrup. It smells so good and I can't wait to stuff my mouth with the syrupy goodness. It's been twenty four hours since I last ate and the thought of food doesn't make me want to throw up at the moment.

"MMMMmm, dis ish soo guud!" I say with a mouthful. Nathan chuckles next to me as I stuff down my breakfast.

"Those are mom's secret recipe. She always made them for me when I was sad or didn't feel well."

"He used to eat so many of them. They are his favorite."
"I still to this day can't make them like she does."
"Thank you so much, Abby. They are delicious, and they do make me feel better."
"I knew they would. Now go get a shower and change and you will feel good as new."

"Alright, I'll go get ready.

I hop up and grab my bag and walk into the bathroom to shower.

Nathan's POV

"So how is she taking the news?" My mother asks once LIlly is out of earshot.

"I think she is scared. She doesn't know anything. I told her I would take her to see Mike and see what he could do to find her family."

"That sounds like a good idea. I hope he is able to find things for her."
"I do too."

She eventually comes out with a smile on her face and I could finally see it in her eyes. She sits back on the bed to wait for the doctor to come in. I grab my bag and head into the shower. As I walk under the warm water, I can't help but think about LIlly and the baby. I think to myself how beautiful she will be with a swollen belly and firm round breasts. Stop, Nick, you can't think like that. I can't help myself. How is she working herself under my skin? She is an amazing woman and so strong. Stronger than she thinks she is. I hope that Mike can help her out and a small part of me hopes he doesn't. After I finish, I head out into the room and I see the doctor talking to her and going over paperwork.

"So here are your release papers, and I also brought you my colleagues card. I already set up an appointment for you in two weeks. If it doesn't work for you you can call and change it. Do you have any questions for me?"

"No, I think I have it all down, and thank you for the referral. I appreciate it."

"Well, don't take this the wrong way, but I hope we don't see each other here again."
"Hahaha, I hope not either."
"You all take care and the nurse will be in with the wheelchair in a few moments."
The doctor leaves and true to his word, the nurse comes in with the chair and we gather up our belongings as Lilly sits in the chair and we head out to the truck. Mom said she would see us later and leads to her own car and back to her house. I help Lilly in and run around to the drivers side and we drive back home. Once we get back home, she walks back into the house as I grab the bags and follow her inside.

"I think I'm going to go lay down for a bit. Those hospital beds are so uncomfortable and I didn't get a lot of sleep last night."
"That's fine. I will put away our things. What would you like for dinner?"
"I'm craving pasta."
"Alright, anything in particular?"
"Alfredo?"

"I can do that. You go rest. I will take care of everything."

Lilly's POV

I head up to my room and lay down. Closing my eyes, I try to sleep. I wish I could remember who I am. Is the man in my dreams the father of my baby? Will I ever find my family and my life before this. Do I want to? Everyone here is so wonderful and Nathan is the sweetest man I ever met. He doesn't even know me and already he said he would help me with the baby. I feel bad about him taking care of me and the baby. He should find a woman who doesn't have any baggage. He deserves better than me.

Placing a hand on my stomach, I wonder what I could be having. Is the father still alive? Several times I have dreamed of a man being killed in front of me and it frightens me. What was he involved in? Are they coming for me? Will I suffer the same fate? Maybe his friend can find out where I come from, but a part of me wishes he doesn't. I am beginning to love this palace and the people here. It's so quiet here. Slowly my eyelids feel heavy and i slip into a deep sleep.

Nathan's POV

I watch her as she walks upstairs admiring her beautiful body, those amazing curves. She disappears down the hallway and I sit down at the kitchen counter, lost in my thoughts. Do I really want to get hooked into this? Taking care of a baby that isn't even mine. I feel like this is the right thing to do. If I want to be with her someday then I have to accept everything about her. What am I thinking? Could she ever be mine? Is there someone out there that she belongs to? There may be a day that she walks out of my life and I may never see her again. I can't think about that now. I had been sitting lost in my thoughts for a while when I heard a knock at the door. I walk over to the front door and open to find my friends standing there and eventually they push their way inside as I shake my head and sit down with them in the living room.

"We just wanted to come by and see how she was doing." Eric says as we all take a seat.

"She is doing okay now. She had some crazy news that she needs to come to terms with."
"I hope it wasn't bad news." Connor states.

"No, actually I'm not sure."
"How can you not be sure about it?" Eric asks with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, we found out that she is pregnant. It is hard news when you don't know who you are or who the father is."
"Wow, that is crazy. How does she feel about it?" Connor shakes his head.

"I think she is okay with it. I told her that we could go see Mike and he might be able to find out who she is."
"He is pretty good with that stuff." Eric adds.

"What are you going to do?" Connor asks.

"What do you mean?"
"The kid's not yours. You have no ties to her."
"I told her that she could stay here and I would help her with the baby."
"You are a good man, Nate. I don't think I could do that." Connor confesses.

"She's got no one right now." Eric says.

"You're right, but it's another man's child. Connor tries to explain.

"It is but, that baby needs more than one parent."
We sit around talking for a while and I realize it's time to start dinner. I ask the guys to stay for dinner and of course they agree. They never turn down free food. Of course I tell them that they need to help prepare the meal. They just laugh and follow me into the kitchen and we begin. After we had everything cooking, I heard footsteps on the stairs and turned to see LIlly walk down the stairs trying to rub the sleep out of her eyes.

"Hello sweetheart, have a nice nap?"

"I did, thank you. Oh, hey guys."
"Hey LIlly, how are you feeling?" Eric asks.

"Much better, thank you."
"Glad to see you feeling better. You had my boy there worried." Connor chuckles.

She walks into the kitchen and I see her cheeks flush pink. It's so cute. I love to see her blush. She comes near me and I pull her into a side hug and kiss her temple. I look up and see the guys smiling. I just shake my head.

"It smells good in here."
"Thank you, I made Alfredo."
"Oh yum, I can't wait."
I soon hear tapping across the tile and in runs Rufus as he humps around Lilly trying to get her attention.

"Hey little man, did you miss me?" she asks.

"Woof Woof" Rufus barks jumping around her.

"I'm jealous. I think my dog has picked a new favorite."
I just laugh as she kneels down to pet Rufus and he jumps up and knocks her over and she starts laughing.

'Careful there bud, she's carrying special cargo."

"It's fine. He didn't hurt me."
I reach down and help her up. She is still laughing as I hear the timer go off. I had already set the table and I told them to go sit down as I brought in the Alfredo. We all settle in comfortable conversation as we eat. After we are finished, I get the guys to help me clean up as I ask LIlly if she wants to watch a movie and to go pick it out. After we finish cloning up we head into the living room and she had picked out an action movie again.

I just smile as she curls up into me as the movie starts. Wrapping my arm around her shoulder, her hand settled on my abdomen and I flinched a bit. She starts to pull away and I grab her hand and place it back where it was. She looks up at me and I look down to her and smile. I could feel the sparks coming from her fingertips and it felt amazing. I know that I shouldn't have those feelings for her but I can't help it and I am slowly falling for her and I don't think I can stop it. She is an amazing woman. Tomorrow we will start the process of trying to find her family and it breaks my heart that I may possibly lose her.
