Felix stayed with me until the hospital closed, chatting lightly will me as I got to know him better.
"You know, Y/N, you don't have to be so formal around me. I know I'm your senior or whatever, but I don't care about that stuff." Felix said, as I just nodded slightly.
"Yeah, look, I know, but it just feels wrong. Plus you're risking yourself for me here, if anyone sees you the media will go into a panic." I said, staring out the small square window. It was right against another building, only a sliver of light coming through. But it still scared me.
"You're more likely to get hurt out of that then me, you know. I'm more worried about the media seeing you, and then Mirae seeing." Felix started, but he stopped himself after mentioning her.
"Mirae? You really believe it's her?" I said, trying to deny it myself.
I just couldn't come to that conclusion however - she doesn't seem like she was capable of killing someone.
"I don't know what to believe, to be honest. Han knows everything that happened with Ara, so you would have to ask him. But Mirae, your attacker, whoever, didn't you say they were threatening your other friend as well?" Felix asked, as I titled my head in confusion.
"Did I tell you that?" I asked, as he looked flustered.
"Yes, you did - well you told Han who told Bang Chan who told me so yes?" He stammered awkwardly.
"Have you ever been to the arcade in Suwon, Felix?" I asked, as he nodded. "It was for this SKZ-Code. Us and ATEEZ."
I remembered that. I hated it being busy there.
I sighed. "But yes, he's being threatened too. Well, more like they're threatening me to stay away from him, so..."
"He also has a friend that looks like Chan. I didn't pick it up at first, but he does. Maybe there's a whole doppelgänger Stray Kids out there." I joked lightly, watching as a nurse wandered in.
"Visiting hours are over, Sir, may I please ask you to leave now." The nurse said, as Felix held up his hand.
"One minute please."
She nodded and left, as he grabbed my phone, typing his number in.
"If you need anything, hear anything, or are threatened again, message me and I will come straight back." He said, as I nodded.
"I don't know how you'll get through security, but sure." I chuckled lightly, as he held my hand, staring right into my eyes.
He was merely inches away now, as I felt my heart racing.
"Don't worry about that, but just know I'll be here if you need me. I'll see you tomorrow, Y/N."
With that he planted a kiss on my forehead, gathered his things, and left.
I stared at the heart monitor, and laughed when I saw it racing.
I'm such an idiot.
Mirae was flicking through the news that night, when an article from dispatch came up.
"Stray Kids members Bang Chan and Felix spotted taking a girl to hospital."
She scoffed, instantly flicking to her contacts.
"You've got to help me get rid of this bitch. Mhm. Yeah, okay, I know you're busy and what not, but I'll let you meet Stray Kids if you do this. Yeah, okay, well get it done quickly. Her name? Y/N. Y/N L/N." Mirae said, hanging up as she flicked back to the article.
"I kind of liked you, Y/N, but you just don't know how to listen."
The next day I was fit to walk, as I wandered out to the vending machine.
Another girl was already there, as I waited behind her.
I felt bad, seeing the multiple IV's she was dragging with her.
I heard her groan as the machine got stuck, as she lightly kicked it.
"Stupid thing." She grumbled.
"Need help?" I asked, as she turned to face me.
She was beautiful, despite her sick, sunken features. She had short hair that was tucked beneath a beanie, and bright brown eyes, even though they seemed tired.
"If you can get this busted machine working, then I will be so grateful. But I've been here over a year, and it's never been fixed." She explained, as I just pursed my lips, and went and kicked the machine myself.
The drink she wanted fell quickly, as her face lit up happily.
"Oh my god thank you! I've never been more happy to have a soft drink in my life!" She exclaimed, half hugging me, before she painfully bent down to grab it out.
"Walk with me?"
I smiled a reply yes, as she popped her drink open and the both of us wandered around - my nurse had told me to get fresh air, and I'm sure this girls nurse asked the same.
"Ah I forgot to introduce myself! My names Ahna, but everyone spells it with two n's - the English version, so just call me Anna. You are?" She inquired.
"Y/N. There's no errors with that." I chuckled lightly, as we made our way out into the gardens.
I felt bad, because they were filled with dying patients, and lots of old people.
But there I was, full of life, intruding their space.
"What are you here for, Y/N." She asked, finding us a bench as we sat down.
I noticed how much it hurt her to do that.
"Someone poisoned me - not in a cute Romeo and Juliet way, just an up front assassination. I'm special, clearly." I sighed, staring up at the blue sky.
Anna was looking up at it in awe.
"What about you? How come you've been here for a year?"
"Oh. I have cancer." She said abruptly, as I felt my heart drop.
"Oh I'm so s-"
"Please, don't say that. Everyone does. It's not like you gave me cancer. It's okay though, I have friends who visit me all the time. One should be coming today, she'll bring me all my schoolwork. Not that I do it anymore anyway." She smiled lightly, staring up at the clouds.
"Ahna!" A voice yelled, as her head turned with mine.
She send over a weak wave, as another girl came running forward.
"Jun! I thought you had forgotten about me. So, what's happening with school? Anything exciting? Oh, this is Y/N by the way. Y/N meet Jun, Jun meet Y/N." She quickly introduced.
Her friend, Jun glanced at me. "Y/N? Hm.. have I heard your name somewhere before? Is it common? Not here, anyhow."
"No, I'm from Sydney." I explained, as she let out a small "a-ha".
Ahna turned to me. "She travels a lot. Australia is her favourite place."
So I sat chatting with the girls for awhile, before I headed off back to the room, knowing visiting hours had clearly begun.
There he was, sitting by my empty bed.
I felt my phone buzz as I pulled it out, glancing at it.
Felix
Sorry, I can't make it in today. If you need me, let me know.
I felt my breath hitch in my throat, as I tapped him on the shoulder.
"Sunshine?"
