Friday
I had work. That was literally all.
My coworkers were having a party after work to go to karaoke, so I joined them reluctantly.
It was Friday night, after all.
I couldn't dwell on the fact I hadn't seen a boy in five days, for that much longer, right?
I just needed to get over it.
So if doing karaoke with really bad singers helped, heck, I would do it.
Yohan in particular sucked.
He never had any dream to be an idol, his black hair almost in a mullet as it reached down, close to being past his shoulders.
He was quite attractive, but personally, he wasn't someone I would ever date.
He was lovely, but was quite sarcastic sometimes, and loved to joke around.
Taekyung on the other hand, was beautiful. Her brown hair reached down low on her back, and her doe eyes shone brightly when she was excited.
It was amazing.
If I was a man, I would date her.
Heck, even as a woman I probably would.
She was funny, and had a contagious smile.
If she was happy, so was the room.
Her hair had blonde streaks in it, which she had done herself.
She also barely wore any makeup, which was why I was slightly jealous of her.
They were great friends.
But I couldn't get my sunshine off of my mind, even as I sat in the karaoke booth, Taekyung and Yohan doing the worst karaoke you had ever heard to the song 'Fake Love'.
Even as their voices cracked in pitch, I was distracted.
When Taekyung pulled me up to sing, I chose the song I used for my audition years ago.
Arcade - Duncan Laurence
When I was done, they cheered me on, before Yohan had another drink, his voice slurring as his cheeks became rosy pink.
He was definitely going to recall nothing of tonight tomorrow.
"I auditioned again yesterday." I said quietly.
Taekyung looked at me, before she smiled and pulled me into a hug.
"I'm so proud of you Y/N! I knew you could do it!" She said, cuddling me into her side.
"Congrats Y/N-ah!" Yohan slurred, before Taekyung attacked him for being irresponsible.
It was a fun night.
Saturday
The arcade was bustling with life today.
That was because a new kpop boy group were there.
ATEEZ they were supposedly called, and they were filming something with another group.
So only a certain amount of people were allowed in, for a certain amount of time.
Since I was there all the time, they let me stay.
A familiar voice made me turn my head, as I whipped my head around, trying to find him.
I heard him, but I couldn't see him.
When I was walking to whack-a-mole, I accidentally bumped into one of the idols, sending me stumbling.
He grabbed for my hand.
"Thank you." I whispered meekly, before pushing past him.
"You're welcome.." He said, his voice trailing as he watched you wander off before sighing.
That was close.
The filming took the idols all day, so I had to wait ages to play practically anything.
Word had spread that the other group was Stray Kids, which would explain why I swore my sunshine was here.
They were not the same people. Mirae was probably just messing around with me. She seemed like that kind of person.
It's fine, it's just a creepy coincidence.
Isn't it all?
Sunday
I was purchasing tickets back to Sydney when my phone started ringing.
Excusing myself from the line, I picked up.
"Mum! How are you?" I asked.
"I'm doing great sweetie- and you? How close are you to being able to come home." She asked, and I could hear the sadness in her voice.
I sucked in between my teeth. "Well you see, I'm buying tickets to visit, but I auditioned at this new company and I think it might go somewhere... so I don't think I'll be able to come live with you again for awhile."
She sighed deeply. "Honey if it doesn't work out-"
"I'll be fine." I cut her off. "I've got friends, they'll stop that from happening again."
My mum went silent, before we continued chatting about my dad, and my life in Seoul and her life in Australia, before she had to hang up on me.
My plane tickets were booked in for two weeks from now.
I had already booked the time off of work, but for some reason I was worried.
If JYP Entertainment accepted me, I wouldn't know if I could go on the trip.
What I didn't know, is how my small trip to Sydney aligned with the return of Stray Kids' Australian members.
Things were going to change, and soon.
Whether it was for the better or worse; only time could tell us that.
