Jungkook was rubbing his temples and pressing in as hard as he could. His brain was pulsating and his breathing was unstable.

"And where'd you get this information?"

"I have a spy."

Jungkook takes a deep breath to calm himself but his blood is boiling so hot, it felt like it was burning through his skin.

"You're positive about this?"

"Jeon, rewatch the clips, listen to the tapes again. They admitted it. They killed your mother and planned that explosion at your old home."

Jungkook slowly turned to Yo-un. He covered his eyes and took a breath. He shot up and slammed his hands on the desk.

"I should fucking kill them all."

"Work with me, Jeon. We can plan this out together."

Jungkook sighed and rolled up his sleeves and flexed his inked arms.

"Show me whatcha got."

~

"Busy? What'd you mean busy?"

"I mean work's ramping up. The big boss has a plan. Shits happening. So let's do it right now."

George shot up.

"But I haven't showered or brushed my teeth."

"That's fine."

"No!? That's not fine!"

George jumped over the back of the couch and ran up the stairs.

"I don't even know where I wanna go!"

"We can decide in the car!" Ryan called after George.

"No!" George groaned from the bathroom as he stripped and jumped into the shower.

Ryan sighed as he went upstairs and decided to waste time while he waited for George.

George mentioned going on a date a while ago. Ryan thought it was a joke but George kept showing him places they could go and that's when he slowly began to realize he was serious. Even if George tried to say it was just to get to know each other, he had a feeling George liked him. Romantically. Unfortunately.

He cleaned up his room, vacuumed, changed his seats, and wiped down his desk and bedside table. After all this, he could still hear music blasting from the bathroom and George cursing and rattling in the bathroom.

He decided to shower himself. Once he's done he gets himself ready and hears George tumbling out of the bathroom and charging towards his room as he's fixing his hair.

"I know where we're going!"

"Where?" He sets his comb down.

"Ice skating!"

"Are you fucking serious?" Ryan stands in front of George with his hands in his pockets.

He takes in George's appearance. A black tank top, a black coat, and red ripped jeans, and his curly hair was pulled up into a ponytail on top of his head. But he had some hair out over his eyes.

He looked… cute.

But Ryan wouldn't admit that.

George nodded enthusiastically as he clasped his hands together.

"It'll be fun! We can go shopping later and make dinner too."

Ryan rubbed the back of his neck with a sigh and stepped past George and made his way downstairs.

"Well, what'd you think? The closest one is still open and—"

Ryan threw George's jacket at him as he grabbed his keys and jacket and stuffed his shoes into his shoes.

"Let's get this over with."

George held back a squeal as he tumbled out of the house after Ryan.

~

"Are you feeling alright?" Halo frowned as he eyed his husband's scrunched-up face.

"Yeah. I feel fine, I just…"

Leo shook his head and picked up the papers.

"Genocide killed Jungkook's mother. The old leader of Black Doves."

"What?" Halo took the papers and looked them over.

"If they did that means that he—"

"He wants to kill 'em."

"Leo, I don't think—"

"And that bastard of Quiet Meadows? That man's son is alive. In fact, he was friends with Jungkook in their teen years. That man's father was also killed by Genocide. The reason he came back was—"

"To get Jungkook to band with him to kill them."

"Exactly," Leo slapped the desk and stood up.

"If my son goes in, that means I have to too.

Halo’s eyebrows furrowed, "I knew things were getting too quiet."

"What's the plan?" he sighed.

Leo scoffed with a sarcastic smirk.

"The boy wants to storm them."

"That's not a plan," Halo threw the papers down.

"I fucking know. Jungkook might not even think it through if all he sees is revenge for his mother's death. I have to step in."

Halo was quiet and stared at the side of Leo's face.

"Be safe," Halo whispered.

Leo chuckled.

"I'm not leaving yet. We still need an actual plan."

"I know but… just… be safe."

Leo turned around, held Halo's face, and softly kissed his lips.

"I always am," he smiled against Halo's lips.

~

"FUCK!"

George laughed and held his stomach as he glided over to Ryan who was rubbing the back of his head.

"Are you okay?"

"No! God! Why did I agree to this?" Ryan sat on the ice while George stood in front of him with his hand held out to help him up.

Ryan grabbed his hand and pulled him down. George yelped as he collapsed on top of Ryan and Ryan swore.

George giggled as he pushed himself up from Ryan's chest.

"This is fun," he grinned.

“Yeah, mhm, I'm sure it is.”

George stood up and helped Ryan up and he, though wobbly, stood up and skated his way, very slowly, to the outside of the rink. George followed after and stopped in front of him as he sat on a bench and unlaced his skates.

"Aw, you wanna leave already?"

"Yes. Fucking hell."

Ryan fixed his long brown coat and cracked his neck as he tapped his toe on the ground to shift the feel of his shoe.

"Fine," George frowned as he took his skates off and shoved his feet into his shoes  and jogged after Ryan.

They got in the car and George had control over the AUX this time. He turned to Ryan who had one hand on the steering wheel and his other arm relaxed on the armrest. George stared at the side of his face. He took in all his features and went over what he liked about them in his head.

His lips are pretty and soft. His eyes are a calm and comforting green. His nose is sharp and defined beautifully on his face. His jaw is strong and sharp. His eyebrows are beautifully shaped.

The list went on until they got to a red light and Ryan turned to him.

"Yea?"

"Nothing."

"Nope, there's something. You've been staring at me for twenty-three minutes."

George's mouth went slightly ajar and his eyes widened.

"Oh."

"Yeah. Oh."

Ryan laughed at George's expression and the car ride ended up being filled with the music playing through the speakers.

Once they arrived at the store the air grew more comfortable. Ryan let George buy whatever he wanted. Anything for dinner tonight, dinners in the future, any snacks he wanted when they couldn't cook.

"You're trying to run my pockets to hell with all this shit," Ryan mumbled as he pulled out his black card and tapped it on the screen in front of him.

George grinned and tapped his head on Ryan's shoulder.

"Would you like a receipt?" The bright orange and purple haired beta in front of him held out the long piece of paper.

"Uh, yeah."

Ryan took it and then followed behind George, who happily pushed the cart towards the car, as he looked over the receipt muttering curses.

"You two are a cute couple!" Two young girls smiled as they walked by.

"Oh, we're not—" Ryan started but they were already gone.

George tried to hide the huge smile that overtook his face and hide the slight discomfort in his chest at Ryan's expression.

He wasn't flustered. He was confused. The alpha would prefer the beta being flustered.

"I'll do it," Ryan announced as he took the bag from the younger alpha and popped open the trunk of the car.

"I'm not incapable."

Ryan's eyebrows jumped up with a smirk but continued loading the trunk without the alpha's help.

George fought Ryan off when he tried to take the cart. Ryan got in the car while George put the cart away. Ryan checked his phone and smiled sadly at his background.

Him and Samiah.

The door opened and he quickly turned his phone off and threw it in the cup holder. He buckled his seatbelt and started the car.

"Were you looking at porn?" George grinned.

Ryan side eyed him before pulling off out of the store parking lot.

~

George stared at Ryan's bare arms. He wasn't staring because they were sexily sculpted (though that was part of the reason), it was because they were covered in scars. He also took notice of the big dark feather tattoo on the beta's left inner arm.

"What's up with you and staring? Like seriously."

"Did you get those scars from work?"

Ryan turned to him and looked down at his arms.

"Um, yeah. Both jobs."

"Both?"

"My job before this one with Jungkook."

"Ah. Um. Care to tell me more?"

"Like what?"

"What was the job?"

Ryan took a large gulp of his white wine and sighed as he sat the glass down.

"I was an assassin."

George's eyes widened as he looked down at his hands.

It was quiet.

"You're okay with me being in a mafia but draw the line at me being an assassin?" Ryan chuckled as he leaned back in his chair.

"That's not it. It's just… you have a lot of experience with…"

"Killing."

"Yeah." George slowly nodded his head.

"But it's fine. That doesn't change anything. But I do have a question. Multiple actually."

"Shoot."

"You said work's starting?"

"Yeah?"

"What does that mean?"

"What're you? A spy?"

"Hey!" George punched Ryan's shoulder.

Ryan laughed.

"It means something drastic is happening. A mission."

"Do… Do people die on these missions?"

Ryan stared at George. He stared deep into George's eyes and dissected the emotion on his face.

"Sometimes."

"Did that girl, who I remind you of, die on a mission?"

George knew he could be pushing but he felt like he could ask. He hoped he could ask.

Ryan went quiet. His stare was still intense.

"Yeah. She did."

"I'm sorry."

"Did you shoot her?"

"No!"

"Then why are you apologizing?"

"Well because you know you just—"

"Do you have another question?"

The alpha blinked a few times and squeezed his hands together.

"Did you get those scars from missions?"

"Yeah and assassinations. They weren't always easy. But my boss looks worse. Mine are just on my torso and arms. His whole body is covered in scars. Not the ideal Vogue model," Ryan chuckled as he finished off his wine.

"Do you ever wish you didn't do this?"

Ryan raised an eyebrow.

"Like the mafia and being an assassin."

Ryan hummed.

"No."

George tilted his head.

"There's nothing else I'm good at and I'm only useful because I'm able to kill so easily. If I couldn't, I'd be out on the streets. After my family was murdered, I was adopted by a league of assassins. I killed the fuckers that killed my family and continued to work with them until I met her. Samiah. Her older brother was brought in by this super powerful mafia don. She had connections. My league was betrayed and wiped out so I was back on the street. She found me, she brought me to meet her brother's boss, and he took me in when I proved myself. I was still outcasted. They say they cared but I think only Samiah did. At the time anyway," Ryan shrugged as he stood up and picked up all the dishes.

"Now Jungkook calls me, so does Jimin and Yoongi. They call a lot just to check in. I guess they thought I'd spiral after she died. But I'm still here," Ryan chuckled as he walked over to the sink.

George's eyes burned and he quickly wiped his eyes.

"So, you're all like a family?"

"Yeah. Our boss would kill for us, he has plenty of times before. He would definitely again."

"Do you guys enjoy killing?"

"I can't speak for anyone other than myself but I think Jungkook feels an obligation, as our boss. And everyone feels like they owe him considering how much he did for us. Me? It's literally the only thing I'm good at. I didn't finish high school. Losing your parents and assassins, basically, adopting you kind of stops that from happening."

Ryan turned around and walked over to George and bent down to look at him. One hand on the back of the chair and one hand on the table.

"There. You have some Ryan lore."

He pushed off the table and walked into the living room. George followed behind him and sat beside him.

"Not what you expected?"

George slowly shook his head.

"Disappointing?"

George shook his head quicker this time.

"Really?"

"Yeah. It's surprising but it's not bad. It's just… that was your situation. It's really interesting honestly. Gives you character."

"Character," Ryan laughed humorlessly.

"Yeah. My story isn't as cool. My mom and dad got divorced, I grew up with my mom and my dad disappeared, my mom kicked me out when she learned I wasn't interested in omegas. I just jumped houses and shelters until I happened to stumble across you and your 'business'," George put air quotes around "business".

George turned to Ryan and smiled.

"You've brought a lot of stability and entertainment into my life."

George felt bold. He felt like going for something risky knowing it could end badly. He went for it.

He pecked Ryan's cheek quickly and then sat back.

"Thank you."

Ryan stared at him while George scrolled through movies they could watch.

Now Ryan was the one with the staring problem.
