Part 19: Visit (Lincoln's Side)

This will have talk of some injury.

Note: I decided to make this into two parts since I felt like Lincoln's and Lori's different visits should have their own chapters. Note that Lori's side with have curse words and some violence.

Now onto the story:

The Louds rushed inside the hospital with mixed emotions that were centered around Lincoln. On one hand, they were happy that he was able to wake up from the traumatic ordeal that he went through. On the other...they didn't know how he felt about the whole thing or if he blamed any of them for his predicament. Sure, they never harmed him, but they didn't help matters by making the situation worse or staying away like cowards.

"I'm kinda nervous. What if he hates us?" Leni asked.

"Leni, you know that Lincoln will never hate us. He loves us all too much to do so, but the same can't be said about Lori considering...." Lynn started to say before being cut off by Luan.

"Sigh...we already know what happened, Lynn. Lincoln will probably never forgive her for what she's done. Not like we would either...for now, we just need to stay by his side and hope that we don't go through something like this in the future." Luan said. The others kept replaying this statement in their heads when they arrived at Lincoln's hospital room. It was nerve wracking as Rita slowly opened the door to see her son laying on the bed while staring at the TV.

"Lincoln." She said causing Lincoln to look at her before smiling.

"Hey, Mom." He said softly as his family rushed inside. He could tell that his sisters wanted to hug him, but to his own surprise....they held themselves back. Not like he could blame them due to his current state. He didn't spot Lori which wasn't surprising considering the incident. Even now, he could just picture her sitting in her room while internally blaming him for getting in massive trouble.

"How are you feeling, Lincoln?" Leni asked.

"I feel sore which is nothing compared to...." Lincoln began to say before trailing off at the end.It was expected that he was still dealing with the after effects of the incident, but to his family...it was a symbol of their greatest failure. For too long, they let themselves believe that their family was sorta normal despite being somewhat dysfunctional to many people.

"That's...understandable." Leni said after a couple of moments.

"Enough about that, it's good that you decided to visit me minus...Lori." Lincoln said with some anger behind Lori's name. The Louds looked at each other before Luna cleared her throat.

"Actually, Lori won't be able to make it." Luna started to say before Lincoln cut her off.

"Is she on another date with Bobby, again? The nerve of her to not even apologize to me before even..." Lincoln ranted before Lisa spoke next.

"Lori is in juvie." Lisa said which made Lincoln look at his little sister with shock on his face. Did he hear her right?

"What?" Lincoln said before Rita spoke further.

"After your incident, Lori showed no remorse. Seeing that...I couldn't take the chance of her doing the same thing to one of your siblings or someone else so I disowned her from the family and sent her to juvie." Rita said. When Lincoln heard this, he was honestly surprised that his parents decided to get involved with this situation. They always let them sort things out by themselves or hide in their room when things got every bad. After gathering his thoughts, Lincoln spoke to his family once again.

"I..I don't understand. I thought that you would ground her for doing something like this or send her to Aunt Ruth." Lincoln said.

"It's because your mother and I realized that we made a mistake. We should've never let any of you solve your issues yourselves. What happened was a result of our poor decision and showed us that we needed to make some changes to our parenting style. While also taking care of some pressing issues that we ignored for some time." Lynn Senior said. Lincoln couldn't

"It also showed us how unfair we were to you. Lincoln, you have helped us with everything that we need assistance with, but we haven't shown enough appreciation. Which is made worse by the fact that we often drag you into our everyday troubles." Leni said.

"I..I really don't know what to say." Lincoln said.

"Older sibling, it would be kinda difficult for you to...process everything that we said, but know that things will change." Lisa said. Lincoln just nodded and laid back on the bed while trying to listen to his family talk about how everything went while he was still asleep. Though his thoughts kept going to Lori and how she was taking all of this unaware that she was having her own set of visitors.

Visitors who didn't hold back their displeasure for her actions. How did this go? Well, that will be revealed in the next chapter.

Hope you enjoyed the chapter...Bye 👋
