Prologue
It was a dark, silent night. The full moon shone brightly in the night sky and driving clouds slowly obscured it from sight. Down in the dark forest below, a small, lone figure crouched low to the ground. With a single twig, the hooded figure delicately drew a small circle in the dirt.
Not far from where the stranger crouched, a lone goat wanderer ran through the forest, panting heavily. In his hooves, he held a glowing lantern. As the hooded figure drew the circle in the ground, the old goat stopped running. He looked at his surroundings as he walked, trying to retrace his steps. "How do I feel there's so many turns here?" he wondered aloud.
He had no idea where he was or how to get back home. He was completely lost in the dark woods. As he approached a large tree, he noticed some scratches made in the bark. He ran a hoof over them. "Did a ghost hit the wall?" he asked.
Suddenly, he felt an ice-cold shiver run down his spine. He had the feeling he wasn't alone in the woods. He looked to his right, then to his left. As he turned around, he saw, at the far end of the dark grove, a small, crouched figure with drooping ears, clad in a deep crimson cloak.
Their face was obscured by the cloak's hood. His eyes widened as fear coursed through his veins. "I want to go home." the little rabbit said in a sad, lonely child's voice as she wiped a tear from her face. "Would you like to carry me?" A sudden clap of thunder echoed through the air.
The loud clap startled the old goat, making him drop his lantern. The lantern fell to the ground and its flame extinguished, leaving the old goat in pitch-black darkness. As the rain fell, the old goat started to run away in a panic, leaving the hooded rabbit behind. Now he desperately wished he could find his way back home.
As he looked back, he saw the hooded rabbit has disappeared. He kept running until he reached a small clearing. There, he suddenly stopped in his tracks. Standing in the middle of the clearing facing him was the hooded rabbit.
The hooded rabbit gave him a small smile and a little giggle. Her ghostly violet eyes flashed. The old goat gasped in horror as he watched her brandish something in her paws. Before he even realized what was happening, there was a flash of red as the hooded rabbit made her move. Then, silence filled the forest except the sound of falling rain.
