Linwë's POV
Today was the day we were leaving Lorien, I was eager to leave, but at the same time I didn't want to leave.

Galadriel gave us boats and she and Celeborn were going to travel with us down the river for a ways and then we would depart.

I boarded the third boat with Gimli and Legolas and I sat down. After we reached the first bend in the river we stopped our boats and climbed onto the banks.

Galadriel had servants set out a meal and we began to eat.
I looked over at Legolas and I noticed he hadn't touched his food.

"Legolas, are you alright?" I asked sympathetically.

He looked at me with sadness in his eyes. "Yes, I am fine,"

I looked at him and he dropped his gaze. No, he was not alright.

After we ate Galadriel gave us gifts. To Aragorn she gives him a scabbard, to Sam she gives Elvish Rope, to Merry and Pippin she gives daggers. To Boromir she gives him a belt, to Legolas she gives him the bow of Galadrim, Gimli receives three of her golden hairs and Frodo gets the Light Earendil.

Galadriel turns to me and presents me with an amulet, it is a black oval shaped stone with a green gem in the center, it hangs from a leather cord. She fastens it around my neck.

"When you are in grave danger press the gem, and help will come," she explained.

I nodded my thanks and then each of us were presented with Elvish Cloaks. We prepared our leave and I walked toward our boat, but Legolas stopped me.

He spun me around to face him and he started to kiss me. I widened my mouth and deepened the kiss. When we pulled away he looked at me sorrowfully.

"Linwë, I wish for you to remain in Lórien," Legolas said softly.

H-he wanted to leave me behind? No, I couldn't do that!

"Why? Do you not desire my company?" I snapped.

He sighed. "No, Linwë, I do not desire that, I want you to be well away from harm,"

"No! I will not stay behind while others continue to fight!" I exclaimed.

"Please, Linwë," he pleaded. "I will come back for you, I promise,"

Aragorn walked over to us. "I agree, Linwë, it would be better for you to stay here, you would be safe,"

"Who knows for how long!" I retorted. "I didn't come all this way to stop now!"

Legolas gave me a pleading look. "Linwë,"

"Fine! I will remain in Lórien," I said coldly.

Legolas embraced me, "Thank you, mellamin,"

We kissed one last time, then the rest of The Fellowship boarded the boats. They set off down the river, I watched until I could no longer see them.

"Come, Linwë," Galadriel said.

I nodded and walked over to her. I had no intention of staying behind.
