Chapter Fourteen
Linwë's POV
The darkness engulfed me as I crept through the trees, following the boats.
The Fellowship had stopped and docked the boats on the banks and set up camp. I had been following them for several days now, waiting for the right moment to reveal myself to them.
I'm sure Legolas would be angry for disobeying him and I think Aragorn would be as well; but I couldn't sit around any longer.
It nearer daylight and they were debating on which route to take to Mordor. I didn't entirely listen, but Gimli was hiving his brilliant advice on which path to take and we all know how that went last time.
Flashes of fire and pain went through my mind and I shivered, refusing myself to look back on those memories.
My back went tense when I heard soft footsteps below me, I risked a glance and I saw Frodo walking, acting as if he was being followed. I sucked in a breath when I saw Boromir creep behind him.
He tried to persuade Frodo to give him the Ring, but he refused to give it too him.
I sighed and moved along the branches, jumping from tree to tree. I allowed myself a moments rest, and several moments later I heard crashing below me.
Orcs were running through the trees, coming towards the hobbits Merry and Pippin. Boromir was standing in front of them, bearing his sword in front of him.
I jumped down from the trees in front of them and they cried out in shock.
"Linwë, you followed us!" Pippin exclaimed.
"Yes, obviously," I said. "Now prepare to fight!"
I whirled around, spinning my daggers, making orcs fall to the ground.
Beside me Boromir felled orcs with his sword and Merry and Pippin threw rocks and stones at the orcs.
More orcs rages towards us and Boromir blew into his horn, calling for help.
I watched in horror as an orc shot an arrow into Boromir's chest.
I lashed out in fury at the orcs closest to me and tried to make my way over to him.
Behind me Merry and Pippin started to yell and that pulled me out of my frenzy.
Another arrow embedded itself into Boromir, making him stagger and his blows were less powerful and slower.
I screamed in rage and terror when an orc slung me over its shoulder.
I pounded my fists against its back but it ignored my protests. I watched a third arrow pierce through Boromir, and he fell to his knees, orcs racing past him.
I screamed again. "Boromir! Boromir! No!!"
He sent me an apologetic glance and I thrashed against the orcs arms.
I tore off my locket and threw it too the ground, hoping to leave a trail, I noticed Merry and Pippin do the same with their armor.
The orcs carried us away, father from Legolas as I intended to be, and I went limp against the orc, hoping they would kill me soon.
