The Sickest Kill
A couple days passed since our failed attempt of the heist of Barkwell bank. I decided to go with Nancy to town. We were talking, laughing, and enjoying ourselves.
"Do you really enjoy it here?" I asked her.
"Well, yes, there maybe some ups and downs but we're like a big family."
"Why did you marry Bill?"
"He saved me from my past. You see, Bill isn't all bad, he makes sure we're fed and well. On rare occasions he's kind. He's just used to the life of crime that's all. Fagin said he was quite the scrapper but he cares for the people he loves deep down. Fagin knows Bill more than I do. On your fake birthday the other day, Bill was hesitant to join us but when Fagin mentioned his birthdays as children, I guess it struck a nerve. Bill was raised in an orphanage, a rather strict one at that. So strict, he acted rebellious and he still is. He probably would've been a better person if he wouldn't drink and had a more pleasant environment to be raised in, yeah, he would be much better. He's a good man deep down inside, I know it."
I sighed, then I started to get the chills..
'Is it cold out?"
"It's kinda warm to me."
"I got chills."
Then, we were interrupted by a group of dirty men.
"Well, hello ladies," they said.
"What do you boys want?"
"I want to have a chat with you yeah. Come."
They grabbed us and walked to an alley.
"An alley, that's not good," Nancy whispered.
"Nancy, I never thought I'd recognize you," the main one said.
"Nigel, how are you?"
"Been better, still a prostitute yeah?"
"No, I'm a married woman."
"Prove it!"
"I don't need to but my honesty!"
He grabbed her dress collar.
"You're still a whore to me Nancy."
He let go and noticed me.
"Who's this, your daughter?"
"None of your business," she said.
He grabbed her again, got his knife out, the smallest knife I've ever seen!
"Get away from her or I'll kill you!" I yelled.
He let go and looked at me and chuckled.
"Who are you impersonating little girl, Loony Lettie Lamb?"
He walked to me.
"You could be too young to be a prostitute...but it's good to start early, isn't that right boys?"
"Yeah!"
He started to rub my arms gently. I slowly got my knife out and sliced his neck. He screamed. A bit of blood squirted on my face. Nancy gasped.
"Good God Lettie!"
"Lettie?" One of the men asked.
"That's right boys," I said.
I went to Nigel who was already dead and did one last thing, I cut his head off.
"Compliments of Loony Lettie!"
I tossed the head to them. They threw it on the ground in disgust. They ran off in fear.
"That was the most gruesome thing I've ever seen in my life!"
I gazed at the headless body, I tossed myself the other way and vomited. I was grossed out myself. Next thing I knew I collapsed.
"Lettie!"
She ran to me. I noticed I had chills for a reason, I was sick!
"Chills..."
She felt of my cheek.
"You have a fever! Come on let's get you back home!"
She picked me up and carried me home.
