Chapter 12

The world returned, the heache was mild this time, but was still present, she stood and held her wings so they weren't touching the floor. Her mentor was already standing and stroking a scaled creature that resembled a dragon, or what she thought a dragon would look like. The creature had four legs, a head, long neck, body, four wings, two ginormous main ones attacked to the body, then a small pair just behind with a little gap between the main ones, all was covered by grey scales. The eyes were gold, which stared at Griz curiously. There were no spikes but the tail did end in one long spike that looked like it could pierce nearly everything.

Her mentor climbed onto the creature's back, his legs between the two pairs of wings, and looked at Griz, who had changed into her own version of his mount. Her mentor nodded in approval, and kicked the creature's sides, who took off. Griz followed them into the sky, a bit wobbly at first as she got used to this form.

They flew north, at a high altitude, in the clouds where they could, or higher when there weren't any clouds, they kept an eye out for any planes, they did not want to be seen. They kept flying, over the border into Scotland, and Griz's wings started to grow tired, but they kept going. They flew into Scotland, and her wings grew more and more tired.

Her wings had had enough, she flew over to her mentor and turned into a minature form of herself and landed on its knee. Her mentor looked at her for a second before continuing to guide the creature that they were on, although the creature seemed to need little guidance. Griz kept looking for planes from her position on the creature's neck.

Griz blinked, the clouds below were pink from the setting April sun, she must have fallen asleep, she was still in her miniature form, but now she was on her mentor's knee, it must have picked her up so that she would advoid falling off.

The creature spoke in its language, but Griz was so accustomed to the language that her brain turned it into English quickly, "We are nearly there. Ten more minutes."

Griz nodded as she got up, and walked onto the neck once again, this time looking at the clouds below. The creature began to tilt forwards, and Griz scrambled back to the body to advoid slipping and falling. They dove through the clouds, going nearly vertical, Griz shifted into a bigger form, slightly smaller than her normal sized form, but big enough to hold onto the creature.

The creature suddenly pulled up as they landed near a tree. They were somewhere very moory in Scotland. Her mentor climbed of and started walking East, Griz climbed off and changed into her normal sized self, her dirty grey top, jeans and old battered boots and book grew with her. She ran after her mentor, who had gotten a surprising amount of distance already, before walking slightly behind, unsure why Scotland was the big meeting place.

"Why are we looking for others like you?" Griz asked in her mentor's language.

"I need help, and they will help me understand you."

"What do you need help with? What don't you understand about me."

"Your training, you have not yet shown any of the abilities of those like me, just those of a Milorme, and not even all the abilities of a Milorme." Her mentor said Milorme angrily.

"Tell me what you want me to try, and I'll try my best."

"In theory, you can do anything."
