Chapter 6 - Someone's feeling touchy...

---Will's POV---

"What?" she gasped, nearly shrieked while her mouth hung open from shock. I bit on my lip to suppress the chuckle that was making its way out of my throat; Kim's face was utterly shocked with her mouth hanging open. A few of the guys chuckled but I quickly shut them up by glaring at them.

"You needed a model for your new artwork; I'm your man." I replied while my heart skipped a beat at the last sentence. She had no idea how true that last bit was. Kim managed to close her mouth and started chewing on her lip, effectively pulling my attention on her lips.

Tyler slightly smacked me on the head, forcing me to avert my eyes from Kim's lips to scowl at him.

"What the hell dude? What's wrong with you?!" I shouted out, grinding my teeth together to stop my wolf from growling. The other humans might have a bad hearing but I didn't want to take chances with Kim; her senses were stronger than a normal human.

Tyler just rolled his eyes and nodded at Kath and David. I glanced at them, noticing that Kath was looking intently at me with a pointed look. David discreetly tapped his head, indicating that Kath wanted to say something but couldn't make the mental connection as easily as us.

"You know that I only told her yesterday. She has accepted me and the pack but she still has to be accepted in the pack; Apart from me, you and the alpha pair are the only ones who can link with her Will." David sent to me, making me nod slightly while I trained my eyes on his mate, Kath.

She was having a soft conversation with Kim and I couldn't help but overhearing some parts of it.

"Just give it a change Kim. What's there to lose?"

Kim gave her an 'are you serious?' look before she pointed at her eyes, "I've trusted someone I thought I knew before. We both know how that ended Kath." She whispered harshly.

I cringed slightly and Kath mirrored my move while we both looked at Kim. She didn't know that all the guys at the table were werewolves and that we all could hear their otherwise silent conversation. The rest of the guys looked at Kim with the same sympathetic look in their eyes before they glanced at me and back again.

"Do you know what happened?" asked Jared, one of the other pack members, cautiously while he cringed at the pain that was clearly visible on Kim's face. I gripped the table, trying to contain my sudden burst of anger while I grinded my teeth. "Unfortunately." I nodded as a reply.

Turning my sight on Kath while she kept trying to convince Kim, I sent her a mental message, creating a mind link between us.

"What did you wanted to tell me? David said you wanted something?" Kath's eyes bulged slightly before she looked at me from the corner of my eyes and back to Kim. "Wow, strange. Hah, I always knew you were strange William, but this? I thought David was pulling my leg when he told me...." I sighed slightly while Kath was rambling of before she noticed my pointed look.

She swallowed before she looked back at Kim. "Anyway, I think you can persuade her if you would suggest that I could come with her." I frowned slightly; I was confused that she didn't suggest it herself.

When I asked her about it, Kath shrugged and replied, "I can always do that but David told me that she's your mate. If you wanted her to trust you, you'll have to work for it. I wanted to give you a chance..."

I smiled at her, nodding in appreciation before I turned around towards Kim, trying to keep my voice neutral. "Is there a problem?" I asked curiously, already knowing the answer. Kim sighed slightly, brushing a hand through her curls while she took a moment to calm herself.

She took a deep breath and said "I appreciate the offer but I feel uneasy to just go with someone I barely know, to a house I've never been before..." She shook her head slightly while her eyes fluttered a couple of times; making me aware that she wasn't wearing her glasses like normally. Her green bluish eyes shined brightly, though it was a little unsettling to see those beautiful eyes glide over you without a spark of recognition in them.

"Hmmm...." I mused for a moment before I said, "I can relay to that. It would feel awkward if I would be invited to a near stranger's house...." David smirked at me, rolling his eyes because he knew that I was trying to make it sound believable. "Why don't you bring Kath along? She can look out for you and you wouldn't be alone?"

Kath smiled at me, nodding "That's a great idea Kim. You can meet new people, make some friends..." When Kim hesitated slightly, Kath placed her hand over Kim's, giving it a slight squeeze. "You can't judge people by the actions of a few animals." She said before she cringed slightly and shot us an apologetic look. I shrugged, waving it away; I knew that she meant those brutes that attacked Kim.

I leaned closer to Kim, thrilled when I welt a shiver rake through her body when my arm brushed against hers. She let out a soft sigh before she nodded and slightly turned towards me. "Alright. How do we do this? Do you want to come to my place or do I go to yours?" She asked hesitantly.

I felt like jumping in the air with a loud 'whoop', while doing a fist pump but I managed to control myself...although I had a huge grin on my face, what made my pack members nudge each other while they motioned their heads towards me.

"Uh, how about my place?" I asked, secretly hoping she would come over; that way, she could meet my parents and the rest of my pack, although she wouldn't know that she'll become the new Luna, in time.

Kim frowned slightly, rubbing the tip of her finger over her lip while she thought about it. "Kath comes too?" she verified and I nodded as a response before I scowled at myself. Idiot, she doesn't see that!

"Yes, Kath can come with you. You can invite your parents too if you want too, or any other relatives." Kim sighed slightly while she shook her head. "Their schedule is pretty full. I might contact my little sister, but... she'll prefer to be with her boyfriend, I guess."

I thankfully absorbed those tiny bits of information while I couldn't help but feel pleased; Kim would be with me all day, possibly a couple of days in a row, with only my pack around us. Kim nodded and finally agreed, making me grin like an idiot while Kath playfully poked her.

Kim still needed her paint and art stuff from her house, so I volunteered to drive her home while David and Kath drove ahead towards the packhouse.

---Kim's POV---

I leaned my head against the window while Will drove me home. My heart was beating faster than usual and I nervously fingered the hem of my shirt; I couldn't help that past memories popped in my head. After all, I was going to a strange house, with strange people in it...following a classmate that I barely knew but wanted to trust with all my heart.

Deja-vu much?

The car slowed down before Will's soft voice interrupted my rather morbid thoughts. "We're here, what do you need?" I opened the door and traced my fingers over the hood over the car, making sure that I wouldn't slam into it.

"Uhm..." I counted the stuff down on my fingertips, saying, "My paints, the paint mix board...let's see... a canvas, obviously...." Tracing my fingers over the door, I found the keyhole and quickly unlocked it before I let us in. I kicked my shoes out while mumbling, "My stuff's upstairs."

Will cleared his throat slightly, swallowing nervously. "Do you mind if I... come upstairs to help you? I don't want you falling down a flight of stairs." He said, sounding pained at the thought of me falling down. It made my heart clench with a longing I didn't fully understand.

I walked up the stairs and was surprised when Will placed his hand on the small of my back, applying a gentle pressure. "I don't want you to fall down...i-if it annoys you, I'll just-" Will was nearly stumbling over his words, making him sound so adorable so I quickly shook my head. "It's alright." I answered softly. Feeling the waves of content and happiness flow of Will, I added, "Just don't baby me." in a sterner voice.

Will chuckles, sending vibrations of his laughter through me. He gently pushed me forwards, what made my mind go blank because I felt his warm hand against my bag. Swallowing nervously, I walked up the stairs and directly to my room; I heard William stop occasionally, probably looking around.

With that in mind, I spun around and crossed my arms over my chest. "Do you want a tour of the house or are you going to help?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, trying to look in his general direction.

"I-uh... I'm just...curious?" he said in a 'busted' tone. I smiled knowingly, shaking my head slightly before I walked in my bedroom. Will stepped in rather quickly and I heard him breath in slowly.

"So, where's the art stuff?" he said while his footsteps creaked around, stopping at certain places in my room; my radio, the window...my bed. I cleared my throat slightly to get his attention before I waved at my bed. "The canvasses are stashed under there." Then I walked to the wall, brushing my fingertips against it until I was a few steps away from the closet.

"Do you need to feel where you're going?" Will asked curiously, coming closer again before he lowered something on the ground with a soft thud. I shook my head slightly, feeling my curls bounce around my head. "No, I've memorized everything. But still, past experiences thought me that I better take some precautions."

I grabbed the box that held my paints and brushes before I handed it to Will. He followed me to the stairs but this time insisted that he walked first. "Past experiences?" he inquired while he opened the front door.

Chuckling slightly, I explained "Well, Kath was here one day, during the first year of my blindness. As a birthday-present, she redecorated my whole bedroom. Nearly broke my foot when I kicked against the solid wooden desk she placed there." I froze slightly when I heard a soft noise that I could describe as a growl. Will's snort distracted me before he gently directed me in his car.

----

"Kim. Kim. Wake up sweetie."

I shot up, slightly dazed and shocked of the fact that I fell asleep with Will next to me...without any nightmares. Will gently nudged me before he pulled me out of his car, bridal style. I flushed a deep red when my feet touched the ground and managed to mutter a soft and embarrassed "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Will chuckled before he wrapped an arm around my waist and gently lead me towards his house, occasionally warning me for a step or a rock on the way, what made me smile slightly. I shook my head so that my curls covered my face slightly; I didn't want his family to look me straight in the eye.

A door opened and Will pulled me in a room, where several voices where chatting along. One of them a very loud Kath, who was giggling...a lot. I smiled slightly while shaking my head; it seems that she really liked this David. Too bad I couldn't see how he looked like. Will pulled me towards them but came to an early stop while he pulled me closer to him.

"Hey mom. Dad." He said with a cheerful voice. "This is Kim, I think Kath told you guys that she's here for her art class?" I fidgeted slightly while I shifted my weight before their voices calmed me. "Oh, yes of course... Kimberly Hale, right?" a male spoke up and I heard the sound of his clothes brushing against his hand before a small swoosh of air made me notice that he stuck his hand out towards me.

Probably surprising him, I grabbed his hand on the first try and shook it. "Yes sir. That's me." He gave me a small squeeze while a woman said "Nice to meet you Kim. I'm happy to stick a face to the girl that Will can't stop talking about." I blushed slightly while Will whined a loud "Mom!" He let out an irritated sigh while I smiled again at his parents amused laughs and snorts.

"Doesn't work Kath." I smirked victoriously when she cursed loudly. "Seriously?! I try for three whole years to sneak up on you and fail every single time! But nooo, not Will, he managed to do that in a week!" Kath exclaimed before we all busted into laughter.

I heard several people shuffle around; a few dozen was more like it! My nerves came back tenfold before I felt Will's arm wrap around my waist while Kath gave me a sideways hug. "Relax Kim. Nothing's happening and I won't allow anyone to harm you. And I think that Will agrees with me."

The tension that I had felt disappeared quite quickly and I allowed myself to relax more. Me and Will's mom, who kindly informed me that she was named Eva, were in a conversation when I heard a girl speak up from behind me.

"What's the reason for all this? Can't the whole- Oh..." the girl's voice stopped suddenly and Will turned around slightly at the newcomer before he greeted her with a "Hey little sis, where were you? I wanted you to meet Kim, she-"

The girl growled slightly, yes growled! I was slightly shocked but her tone and next words shocked me more.

"I don't care what the whore's name is! She's probably just some girl who's out for your name or money." She snapped, making me frown slightly while I fully turned to meet this girl. "You don't know me so don't judge me." I replied curtly while I placed a hand on Kath's arm. She sighed before she backed away, letting me know that she understood me; I wanted to deal with this myself.

"And I'm very happy that I don't know you; I don't want our Luna to be a slut or a greedy bitch!" she snarled, while I felt Will tense beside me, obviously angry, judging by the way his arms were shaking around my waist.

I snorted slightly before I slightly pinched my nose bridge. "Hah, girl, you couldn't be more wrong with that statement. I'm not after Will in any way; he's just a friend. And of the record, I'm not some loon like you think."

"Violet..." Will nearly growled warningly beside me while he let me go but Violet clearly chose to ignore him because she continued her angry rant. "I'm sorry, I find that hard to belief! I mean, look at him, my brother is a stud and you say you're only his friend? Yeah right, your just full of lies."

With that remark, I snapped. Releasing my nose bridge, I brushed my curls over my shoulders so that my face was completely visible and snapped at her, "Listen to me, and listen good Violet." I spoke her name in distaste before I continued, "I'm only here because I have an art assignment for school, in which I need the help of your brother. And I couldn't give a damn if Will is a millionaire!"

I waved at Will while I said "I don't even know how he looks like for crying out loud!" in a very irritated way, getting angrier when I heard Violet laugh. I could nearly see her shake her head in a disdainfully way while she said, "What, are you stupid?"

Stepping forwards, I snarled, "No, I'm blind! A few classmates who didn't know me decided that I needed to learn a lesson and chose to beat me with a solid baseball bat over half the night, purely because they judged my exterior! I've been blind for nearly three years!"

A deafening silence filled the room, only broken by the sounds of breathing and several nervous shuffles around the room. "Kath." I said while I slightly tugged at her hand. She immediately pulled me away, past Will's family. When Kath passed Violet, I heard someone stumbling as Kath grunted while she snapped "Happy now?"

---Will's POV---

The whole packhouse was eerie quiet while Kim and Kath walked outside. Everyone was holding his or her breath, waiting for the outburst that was sure to come, after my mate was out of hearing range. Clenching and unclenching my fists, I glared at my sister while shiver after shiver shook my body.

Violet turned back to look at us when father and I simultaneously growled. She looked slightly shocked but still had a smug look on her face. Whipping her blond hair over her shoulder, she shrugged "Another vulture gone...good riddance I say."

I dashed forwards, grabbing my little sis by the throat before I slammed her against the wall, forming an indentation of her body. She gasped in shock or pain while she struggled against my hold.

"How DARE you? You've insulted my MATE!" Violet was gasping for air right now while growls rumbled through my chest, my wolf aching to defend my mate's honor, even if it was my sister.

"William...that's enough." Father said with a stern voice; I could hear that he was holding on by a tread. I looked at him over my shoulder and released Violet when he nodded, letting her tumble to the ground.

Violet brushed her bruised and painful throat while I walked towards the door, looking at my mate. She and Kath were talking while they paced around and I could feel a small stab of distress coming from my mate, which concerned me. Normally, I needed to mark her before I would feel her emotions, but father had mentioned that I would feel her strongest sensations by now.

"She...she's your mate?" Violet asked shocked in a hoarse voice. I nodded curtly, not even sparing her a glance while my wolf's instincts were demanding that I ran up to Kim to comfort her. Suppressing the urge as best as I could, I turned around and walked towards my sis, who had managed to crawl to her feet.

I forcefully grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at me. "You will not come near my mate, speak or even look at her until you have my permission. Right now, you'll go towards the study and look for the Kimberly Hale file. You WILL read all the documents in there and I command you to even look at every single picture and video-tapes that are in there!"

The full extent of my alpha voice hit her hard, forcing her to look down while her body shuttered until she was on her knees, panting. She looked up, not to me but towards dad with a pleading look in her eyes. Father growled at her when she said "You have no right William! You can't-"

"He has every right!" Father snapped, making even the elder werewolves cringe slightly. "You have insulted your brother's mate, our new Luna and nearly exposed our secret to an uninformed human! If your actions have driven her away from William, I won't hold him back Violet. " Father spoke, pure anger lacing his voice.

Even mother looked angry while she glanced from Violet to Kim, a sad look in her eyes at the later. "You need to learn your place Violet. I know that you wanted to protect your brother's best interests, but you've gone too far."

Violet nodded slightly before she walked away, towards the study, with her head hanging down. I snorted before I looked outside again; Kath was rummaging through her schoolbag, that she brought with her when she came with David.

I stepped out, along with a few pack-members and walked towards Kim. A chuckle escaped my throat when I noticed that soon enough, the whole pack was piling out of the living room and was headed towards the yards; they all wanted to see their future Luna.

"I'm sorry for my sister Kim. She thought that you were looking for a relationship with me... we've had our share of women who wanted to be with me because my family's name and such." I said while I rubbed over my neck, suppressing a growl. Stupid sister.

Kim sighed slightly while Kath smirked and leaned towards her, whispering, "I told you so! She did that to me too." Kim nodded and gave me a small smile, which send my heart in overdrive. "Apology accepted. Just...keep her away from me for the moment?" she asked and I nodded while saying "Done." Kath smiled and gave me a wink before she plugged her I-pod in some portable speakers and started a song.

Kim shivered slightly before she scowled at Kath. "Turn that song off! I hate it!" Kath grinned, wagging her eyebrows at my while she tapped her head. "She's too angry to paint right now, so I'm going to distract her a bit." She chuckled slightly before she took a few steps backwards and teased, "I don't think I'm going to do that."

"What are you playing at?" I asked curiously while a smile slid over Kim's face, momentarily distracting me from everything else. My eyes darted downwards when she slowly stepped forwards. Kath smirked wider and replied, "Tag!" before she darted away, laughing loudly with my mate on her heels.

I couldn't help it but part of me was nearly bursting with the pride I felt for my blind mate, who was effortlessly keeping up with Kath, the other, wilder part wanted to chase her down. I grinned when several kids joined the game, tagging Kim and Kath while they scurried away.

Eventually I joined them, only for the sole purpose to catch my mate. As soon as I got closer, Kim held her head slightly crooked so that she could hear me while she dodged me but, finally, I managed to grab her.

"You're mine now..." I chuckled victoriously while my mate laughed slightly, shaking her head while she tried to catch her breath. Some of the pack were looking at her in awe, their mouths slightly opened in shock. To sate their curiosity, and mine, I asked "How did you learn this? I can only imagine that it's quite difficult."

Kim nodded slightly before she took another deep breath and swallowed. "I followed a special program that thought me how to use the blind cane, Braille and other stuff like that. Kath had suggested that I tried some blind sports as well, seeing that it could boost the confidence a little bit. At first, it starts with small bells attached to the other person, then it's the person's voice...."

I saw several of the curious pack members come closer while they nodded at themselves; it all made sense because a physically impaired person would have heightened senses. Chuckling louder, I pulled Kim closer while I said "Now, it's nearing the evening... unless you want to sleep over, I suggest we start at your assignment?"

Kim agreed, so I lead her towards my room, where her art-stuff had been dropped earlier on. David and Kath joined us but stayed in David's room, across my own. Kim smiled sweetly at Kath and smirked "No funny business!" before she stepped behind me, effectively dodging the incoming pillow.

"Don't get too touchy!" Kath replied with a laugh before she wriggled her eyebrows at me in a suggestive way. I frowned slightly before I followed Kim, who was rummaging through her stuff.

"Okay, let's get started." She mumbled before she stretched her hands out towards my face. I stopped her, although my wolf was growling in content, and stuttered "W-what are you doing?"

Kim sighed slightly, tilting her head while she said, "I need to know how you look like Will. And because I'm blind, obviously, I can't see you." Oh... I flushed a deep red while it dawned me; she needed to touch my face in order to know how it looked like.

"Uh, Yes, of course. I just...forgot. Go ahead." I agreed while I send a small prayer to my lucky stars, hoping I could contain my wolf and myself.
