Rabids
A boy sat in a field on a hill as he stared up at the moon as soft tears where trailing down his tan face, clearing the dirt in small rivers of his tears. He didn't bother waving them off his face as he didn't care anymore about anything. The blood still stained his hands of his father... He didn't want to move.
"The stars are the heroes who deserves to be remembered, don't forget that Lance," his father told him as he woke up from a nightmare once and his father calmed him down by taking him outside to enjoy the fresh air of the cool night.
It was cold as winter finally passed and flowers began to bloom again, but spring was meant for a new beginning, as well as him, nothing would be the same anymore, not when his sister was the only blood family he had, the new responsibilities of the Queen.
He heard someone stepping on a stick behind him and he glances back while his hand slowly went down to the handle of his blade next to him.
Lance glared darkly as he swung his leg back behind him and threw the knife up at the attacker who ducked and grabbed lances wrist pinning him to the cold grass as a knife was at his throat. He couldn't see his attacker as they where only bigger than him and a good covered everything. He grunted putting his feet under the intruders chest and pushed him off behind him and ignored the sting of where he was nicked on the neck and blocked the knife coming back at him.
He grabbed the tall figured arm and yanked him down as lances knee came up making the hood fall off as Lance slammed his shoulder into him and jumped on him holding his dagger inches away from his eye.
Lance glared at him panting heavy as the figure stared up at him with wide dark blue eyes as his tan skin glowed in the moonlight and white hair pooled around his head.
"¿Quien diablos eres tú? Galra?" Lance spat as the young man under him breathed heavy but said nothing.
"Answer me!" He screamed not moving the knife away.
"You..." The boy gulped. "Are the most beautiful creature this world has ever created,"
Lance turned dark red as his face twisted in confusion but gritted his teeth moving the knife to his neck.
"Are. You. Galra?" He snarled at him.
"Your altean," the warrior stated making Lance glare.
"Your on my turf," Lance spat.
"On the contrary, this land is unclaimed," he said calmly but grunted when lances cold blade touched his skin. "And yes I'm from the galra,"
"So I could kill you with all rights as an enemy," Lance pursed his lips angrily.
"Such an angry lad," the white haired male smirked at him.
"I have my reasons," Lance snorted shaking his head.
"Oh I'd love to hear them~" he hummed but cried out when Lance punched his nose.
"Your like fucking rabids!" Lance yelled at him but closed his eyes with tears in them and got off of the warrior covering his face. He broke into soft sobs as his shoulders shook lightly and the galra sat up holding his nose.
"I suppose you currently lost someone to them?" The galra asked wiping the blood off his face.
"Why do you care?" Lance sniffled as his lips trembled.
"I can't say that I've gone through the same thing, but I do understand loosing someone," he nodded as Lance choked on another sob.
"They took my father, they fucking ripped him apart in front of me," Lance sobbed into his hands. "First my mother, now my father, I'm so scared of my sister being next,"
An arm wrapped around his shoulders as Lance froze for a second but his body trembled and leaned his face into the strangers neck sobbing as he clenched his leather armor tightly.
"There will be misery and grief, but this is your time to peruse a passion of making sure it doesn't happen to anyone else," he nodded as Lance cried harder.
"I don't know what to do, I'm so lost," he whimpered.
"Do what you will, for instance, your embracing a galra in need of comfort, you can do anything," he smiled down at the boy and blushed softly.
"I'm only fifteen, not even sixteen to be considered a man," Lance sat up quickly from his embrace wiping his tears quickly.
"And I am seventeen but still wish I could do the honorable thing that my people do to be a man, kill for sport has no honor," he growled to himself and Lance nodded.
"That's what galra do right?" Lance asked and he nodded.
"Your weird," Lance sniffled looking away. "But your not like other galra I've faced,"
"Nor are you," he smiled gently.
"The names Lance by the way,"
"Lotor,"
Lance ran through the trees as he followed matts instructions of the entrance at night to the moles underground base.
"Your so slow," Lance looked behind him as Lotor was following holding a fire and they heard growled and gurgles from below seeing rabids chasing them from below.
"I'm not dropping the fire," Lotor said flatly.
"I dont get why I can't hold it, I'm much more professional in the trees," Lance pouter as Lotor jumped to him.
"Because you are the one that can actually fight in the trees," Lotor stood with him as they looked down as a herd either ten to fifteen rabids where under them reaching and scratching at the tree trying to get to them.
"They're going to be out of here for a long time," Lotor placed his hand on lances shoulder seeing the vengeance in his eyes.
"I honestly don't care who survives down there, for all we know they're just like the rabids," Lance rolled his eyes and Lotor agreed silently.
"Then let's hurry, it's cold tonight," Lotor whispered in his ear and Lance laughed softly at him and raced ahead as Lotor kept the fire to keep the rabids distracted.
Lance pursed his lips running on the ground and saw a metal object as it was locked but a pin code was next to it. He typed in a code but a hand print showed up and he gulped forgetting this part. He placed his hand on the screen and it turned green accepting him and he opened the entrance to the base.
"Lotor!" He called as rabids finally noticed him and Lotor jumped and sung down to Lance as he held the fire above the hole while he gripped lances shoulder tightly as the vicious creatures got closer and closer.
He dropped the fire down the hole.
Lance grabbed him and shoved Lotor to the ground as they blended with the dark shadows while Lotor pulled his hood up to hide his white hair. Lance kept his head down and covered his ears while Lotors arm wrapped around him and they stayed silent as they heard cracks and growled echoing 20 ft down through the hole until all dropped down.
Lotor pushed himself up and looked around the dark woods seeing it was clear. He pushed the locked door close as it locked again and trapped the creatures in the base of the moles.
"Love, it's safe now, let's go back," Lotor touched his shoulder gently as Lance was still on the ground. He looked up at Lotor with wide eyes and nodded with a shakey hand.
"Your not going back down there Lance, your safe with me," Lotor held him tightly as Lance kept his face away from the entrance as he could remember the coldness from down there. The empty and lonely cold.
"Let's go home," he whispered.
