Chapter Eight 

we are already on the list

3rd person pov

the group of them stormed into the bathroom to talk about the photo that was on their phones. Rocky stood next to noa as she held her hand and they all looked at each other as they checked the stalls and made sure they were alone

"A killed Tyler. A killed tyler" Tabby repeated and rocky held her breath as she shook her head and looked away from them. She hated that this guy was now an actual murderer. 

"can we please go to police now?" mouse asked and rockys head shot up 

"no, no that was a warning, if we do anything we are next and we are already on the list. Do we really want them to have more a reason to come after us?" rocky asked 

"okay so we can't tell anyone but can't we just send that pic of dead tyler to the sheriff anonymously?" Faran questioned

"A texted it to us. You don't think he'll know how the cops got it?" tabby asked 

"what the fuck can we do?" Noa asked and rocky rubbed her hand over the girls back just trying to give her some form of comfort during all this shit. Rocky looked at the others as imogen spoke up 

"we take deep breaths... and don't freak out" Imogen tried 

"a's killed two people, probably more" Mouse reasoned with them but they all knew that they couldn't go to the sheriff or the cops, they couldn't go to anyone, they were alone in this and worse of all, this could get noa and rocky thrown back in juvie 

"horrible people, just sayin'" faran stated 

"to paraphrase "heathers," " our teen angst now has a body count" " Tabby exclaimed and rocky nodded as imogen began 

" A is tied to angela waters. We figure out what happened to her, we figure out who A is and how to stop him. Back to the basics. The sixth signature from the radley, who does that belong to?" Imogen asked 

"you think it might be A" Mouse spoke 

"its a definite possibility. And then theres angelas mother, rose. Shes out there somewhere" 

"and then there was the assault that happened to angela. You guys... imogen and i need to tell you about something else that happened to us that may or may not be related to A" Tabby said and they all walked outside together as the girls told them about what had happened to them. Rocky already knew so she didn't say anything as she let the girls talk 

"imogen, tabby, i am so, so sorry that happened to you" Faran said 

"we all are and we got you" Noa stated 

"whatever you need" Mouse said 

"it happened to both of us after parties. jock-centric parties" Imogen spoke and rocky held her breath as she turned to noa 

"you think it was one of the football players?" noa asked 

"is that how you got pregnant?" mouse asked imogen who nodded and rocky sighed 

"we don't know if this is something that connects us to angela but tabby has a plan, to catch whoever did this to us, to stop him from doing it again" Imogen spoke 

"nurses simmons is having a blood drive next wednesday. If we can collect blood samples from the boys in school, we can compare it to dna from imogens baby" Tabby explained 

"noa, your moms a nurse, right? we're hoping she can help us figure out the DNA part" 

"i can talk to her for sure" 

"and if we can get proof, real proof, then we can go to the authorities and they wouldn't be able to ignore or dismiss us" Tabby said and they all nodded as imogen told them they were going back to see crazy joe and they all agreed to work the blood drive. With that, they all left the bathroom and went to their classes until later that day, where she went home and decided to do her homework. She laid on the floor next to her bed with all of her papers spread out in front of her as she stared at them in confusion. Next week was thanksgiving week and she had to make it through the week and so she did. 

Finally she had made it to thanksgiving week and on tuesday, the group of girls went to all of their classes as they were able to tell them about the blood drive the next day to make sure that they got all of the men in the school to be able to give blood. Rocky went to her chemistry class as she told everyone about the blood drive and all of the perks that would come with it. Later that day, they all sat in the library as noa told them that the guys on the football team wouldn't do it because they were on inhancers 

"but the guys on the football team are our main suspects, if they don't give blood" Tabby tried 

"i know but i have a plan b. while the teams practicing, we sneak into the locker room and swipe dna off their mouth guards and shit" Noa said 

"its not a bad idea" Rocky told her 

"actually, this could be a blessing in disguise. If a test comes back positive from the locker room DNA"

"then we'll know it was a football player" 

"and if we find a match out of the blood drive"

"then we'll know it's another boy at millwood high. this is good. it'll shrink the pool" Imogen told them 

"then we'll eliminate suspects, one by motherfucking one" Tabby spoke and later that day, they snuck into the locker room as they began to collect the amount of evidence that they needed against the guys. Then they all separated as they went to their houses until the next day. It was wednesday, it was the blood drive and they were all apart of it. Faran, Tabby and Rocky sat at the front table as they checked people in and they all signed in at the table. 

She watched as noa grabbed the bag of used cotton wads and she did that throughout the day until they had everything and at the end of the day, they walked outside and met up with noas mom. Noa gave her mom the bag of stuff and they talked about what would happen as noas mom got in the car and drove off. The rest of the group headed to pinball pizza and got in their usual booth 

"two weeks. we can make it two weeks" tabby spoke 

"in the meantime, this is feeling kind of anticlimactic" mouse stated 

"mouse is right, as much as im glad that we're able to slow down and take a break something just doesn't feel right" Rocky told them. Thanksgiving was the next day and they hated it but the group of them decided to go to a club with just them. 

Rocky danced with the girls and she felt free and she felt good as her and noa danced against each other. The girls watched them almost in shock at the two of them but they kept dancing because that was all that mattered in that moment. The group of them sat down as they got drinks and talked about their favorite clubbing movie 

"alright rox... give it to me" noa said and rocky smiled at them 

" the last days of disco, its so good" Rocky said and they all cheered as kelly told them hers and they cheered for her as they welcomed her into the group. Rocky felt good to have kelly in the group. She got home with the girls and her mom wanted to talk to tabby, so rocky ran her hand over the girls arm and she left to her room. 

The next day was thanksgiving so rocky went downstairs to help her mom with making the dinners. Her mom wanted to question her but she didn't feel the need to. She knew that rocky wouldn't do anything considering juvie wasn't too far in her past. 

She helped until their bell rang and in came mr.marchand, he looked rocky in the eye and glared at her 

"you punched my son at a halloween party not too long ago, what else did you do to him? you know what happened to him, i know you do" he told her and she scoffed with a shake of her head and a sigh 

"i don't know what happened to her your son and im sorry that he's missing but i didn't do anything to him. Get out of my house" she told the man and she stared at him as he walked out of the house and she closed the door locking it behind her. Her mother made eye contact with her and she shook her head 

"i didn't do anything mom i swear i didn't do anything" she told her and her mother nodded as they got back to making dinner. When it was done, the three of them sat at the table together and her mother asked tabby about tyler and about the movie that she wanted to make. Tabby began to tell her mom about what happened, rocky held her hand as she let her tell her what happened. 

Her mother got up as she walked over and hugged the girl and they took rocky into the hug as the three women hugged each other and cried together. They got through the rest of dinner and then got a text from imogen which made them meet up at pinball as imogen told them what happened. 

"so, what do we do?" mouse asked 

"i say we go, we confront this bastard, we find out why he's been doing this to us and our moms and we end it tonight" noa said and they all stared at her as they decided that maybe this is what they needed to do so thats what they did. 

they left pinball pizza and went to angelas house as they got there and didn't find anything and then they left and went to joes train car to see him hung. They all stared as mouse went over and grabbed the note that he left. Imogen grabbed a book and picked it up as she flipped through the pages and saw her moms senior yearbook. 

"now can we call the police?" faran asked and they called as anonymous tip to the police and then they left the train car and all went back to their houses. They knew who A was and it was all over now.
