Party

Dallas

"Dallas!" I hear mom's voice as I tie the laces of my sneakers. "Come down! Abby's here."

"Coming!" I say and bounce down the stairs. I see Abby standing in the kitchen with mom, laughing and talking. My lips curl up in a smile as I make my way towards them.

"Hey Abby!" I nudge her with my elbow, wiggling my eyebrows. She's wearing a beautiful maroon dress that ends up mid thigh, her blonde hair are curled beautifully that falls on her shoulder perfectly. With minimum makeup on her face, Abby looks like a freaking goddess. In contrast to her, I'm wearing a full sleeves T-shirt, a pair of blue ripped jeans and m'sneakers coz why not? Applying just a little mascara and lip gloss I think I'm at least close to what Abby looks like. Okay maybe not. Its like I've fallen 50 feet away from the same tree.

"What the hell are you wearing?!" Mom and Abby gasp at the same time. Oh okay... I thought I'd get past the fashion police. But guess what–

"What?!" I scoff. "Its nice and comfortable for a party."

"Ya it sure is. For the party of hipsters!" Abby scoffs playfully.

"What's with all the voices in this house!" I hear Dad's voice as all of us turn around to face him. "Oh hey ice princesses." He waves at me and Abby. Ice princesses ya... That's the nickname my dad gave us when we were kids. Oh but wait there's more. The kids at the school used to call us the caste of legally blonde. Blondes, whiter than the snow– name it and we've been called it all. Guess two blondes can't survive without being realized about them being blonde.

"Hey Mr. Marshal." Abby greets dad with a smile. Apparently Abby is a big deal around here aka my house. From the ages of 7 till now, 'Dress like Abby', 'Behave like Abby', 'Act cheerful like Abby' are the only phrases I've heard from my mom. But nobody tells Abby to bring grades like me... Because no one notices that one flaw about her, as on the outside she's perfect. It's not like I'm envious of her. But sometimes parents fail to understand the difference between healthy competition and comparison. Don't compare your kid at the extent, that it starts driving him crazy and he starts hating you one day.

"C'mon now Dalla! Buckle up or we'll be late!" Abby nudges my shoulder, breaking the chain of thoughts. "Dress in that black dress I gifted you for your birthday last month. You'll look stunning in that."

"Ya Abby's right honey! Black brings out the green in your eyes." Mom chimes. "Abby you have the best fashion sense ever. I used to dress like that––" Here we go with 'Abby being the best human ever walked on the planet' talk again. I sigh deeply and turn around to walk upstairs, accidentally stumbling across Liam. How did I know? The smell of his god awful strong cologne.

"Hey watch where you going twit!" He mumbles sharply, before pushing me out of the way.

"Liam!" Dad warns him across the room, shooting death glares. If it isn't for dad, I think no one in this place would acknowledge my very existence.

"Calm down honey! She should've watched her step." Mom mumbles, giving me a hard look. What!? What did I even do? "Where you off to baby?" She asks Liam, softly.

"The party!" Liam mumbles boringly.

"Take these girls with you." Dad orders him. Before he can even protest, Dad interrupts him, "It's not an option. They need a ride and I can't let them walk alone." Dad tells him, and gives me an assuring smile. Oh he's the best!

"Fine!" Liam scoffs. "But I'm not taking you back. You find your own ride." He scowls, pointing at me. I nod nervously and start climbing upstairs, before he interrupts me again.

"Where you going now?! We're getting late!" He whines.

"I need to change. Wait for five minutes." I mutter and rush into my room. I open my closet and scan through my clothes, looking for the black dress. Finally I get dressed into it, let my sneakers on and rush downstairs. Liam throws me an irritated look. Ignoring his gaze, I cling on to Abby's arm and we walk outside towards his car. Mom and dad wave us goodbye and we hop into the car, ready to leave for our first high school party.

****

"Woow! This is insane." Abby gasps, looking around the party. It sure is. First of all it's a huge house packed with kids at final capacity. Second of all there is booze and half naked girls all over the place. I guess we just passed a girl literally showing her nipples! This is crazy! Before stepping out of the car, Liam gave us strict instructions. 'No' accepting drinks from strangers, 'No' drinking alcohol, 'No' leaving your drink unattended, 'No' going to the bathroom alone and 'No' disturbing him at all. If we follow these rules strictly, we'll survive our first high school crazy party. We walk inside the house, and what seems like the living room, is packed with kids from West wood as well as Riverside. So many strange faces.

"C'mon let's go there." Abby points towards the group of girls laughing. "They are Ashley and her friends." She drags me towards the group and starts talking to them. I stand there awkwardly not participating in the conversation. Even though I go to school with these people, I don't really know them. My forehead starts sweating and heartbeats fasten due to music blasting through the speakers. That's when you know the social anxiety is triggering. I excuse myself from the girls and head over to the kitchen. There are plenty students in the kitchen, some of them making out on the counter. I gag internally, searching for water as my throat is becoming dry.

"Looking for someone?" I hear a voice from behind, startling me. I turn around and come face to face with a chubby guy, smiling politely at me.

"Uhm ya I was looking for some water." I smile. He opens the refrigerator door next to me and grabs a bottle of water handing it to me. I take the bottle and gulp it down thirstily. After drinking half the bottle, I sigh deeply while the guy keeps looking at me, intrigued. "Thank you so much! I really needed it." I thank him.

"No problem at all." He mumbles. "So you here by yourself?"

"No. I'm here with my friend Abby." I mumble. "You go to Riverside?"

"Ya I do. You go to West wood I'm guessing?" He asks me.

"Oh ya I do." I smile, extending my hand towards him, "I'm Dallas Marshal." He shakes my hand before speaking again,

"Hi I'm------" A loud voice from the living room disrupts his introduction, as I turn around to see Abby howling and dancing in the arms of a random guy.

"Shoot! I gotta go!" I tell him, walking towards the living room. "I'll catch up with you later." I wave him and rush towards Abby. She's dancing in a random guy's arm, while him and his friends gawk at her shamelessly. I grab her arm and pull her away from the guy, earning a few incoherent words from him.

"What are you doing?!" I whisper yell, trying to hold her up. Boy, she's wasted!

"I'm partying Dalla!!" She slurs, swaying her arms in the air while I struggle to help her stand straight.

"I thought we weren't going to drink!" I snap at her.

"OH cmo'n Dallas! It's a party!!!! Don't be such a pooper." She mumbles, blowing a rasberry in my face. Real mature! "Hey guys! We've got a party pooper in the house!" She yells loudly pointing towards me, making other kids boo at me. I hide my flushed face in embarrassment and drag her towards the staircase.

"Shut up Abby!" I snap. "You're embarrassing me. She looks at me funny before passing out in my arms. Oh boy! I try to hold her but apparently she's too heavy for me. Suddenly a guy snakes his arm around Abby's waist and steadies her. I give him an appreciating look but I can't see his face properly.

"She's passed out." He mumbles. "Do you wanna take her upstairs?"

"Ya thanks that'll be really helpful." I mumble. He gently picks her up in his arms and carries her to a room upstairs, while I follow him like a lost puppy. He motions me to open the door and I fumble with the doorknob, finally opening it after a minute. God! We enter the dark room and I can't practically see anything except the little access the moonlight is providing. He drops her on the bed and covers her with a sheet. After struggling to look around, he walks towards me and switches on the light behind me. The dark room illuminates and that's when I see his face. Brown hair, average tall, tan skin, and average physique. He's not Chace Crawford cute, but cute. Maybe a 4 on a scale from 1 to 10. But something's more fascinating about him. The way his eyes shine.

"You like?" He smirks, making my cheeks flush with embarrassment.

"I'm sorry I wasn't staring. I just get lost in my mind sometimes." I stutter. He chuckles lightly before speaking in his charming thick voice again,

"I wouldn't mind if you did." He whispers, making my heart skip a beat. "But let's not make you uncomfortable right now." He extends his hand towards me, "I'm Luke Winters." I stare at his hand for a second, deciding whether or not should I introduce myself. Liam did say not to talk to strange guys. But eh! What could possibly happen?

"I'm Dallas Marshal." I shake his hand hesitantly, withdrawing it as quickly as possible.

"That's a real nice name Dallas." He smiles and oh god is that smile contagious. "But mostly boys are named Dallas... No offence it suits you better."

"Ya I know I've heard that a lot. Apparently my mom was expecting a son." I scoff. "I'm just a disappointment." I sure am. If you ask my mom right now, she'd say she would be happy with another boy but I'm fine too. Coz I'm just fine...

"Oh I'm sorry but your mum's kinda wrong. With the face like that, it's hard to call you a disappointment." He mutters. Okay one night I allowed myself to know people and I'm instantly bombarded with flirty teenagers. That's the reason I don't make new friends anymore.

"I guess." I nod. He notices my discomfort and starts speaking again,

"Can we talk over on that couch? My legs are killing me." He chuckles nervously, pointing towards the couch facing the huge window. I nod and walk towards the window but instead of walking with me, he turns back and switches off the light.

"What are you doing?!" I whisper yell, my eyes widening with fear. If Liam found out I did something stupid with a stranger, he'll kill me.

"Relax relax!" He signs, throwing his arms in the air. "I'm not trying anything. Your friend might wake up due to the light and our voices, so I switched it off." He whispers. I take a look at Abby. She likes it dark when she sleeps. I nod, as we both sit on the couch maintaining distance. And when I mean distance, I'm sitting 50 ft away from him.

"So–How do you know the house so well?" I mumble. "Is it yours?"

"I wish.." He chuckles. "But its my best friend Easton's." I slightly nod and we both fall into awkward silence again. I mean what are you supposed to talk to a stranger who helped you carry your drunk friend into a more safe place? Suddenly the door flies open and two drunk strangers stumble inside. The guy struggles to switch on the light, making me squint.

"Oh hey Winters!" The guy slurs. "I didn't know you were using this room man! Nice girl!" He smirks, looking at me while the girl in his arms whine about something. Either they're too drunk to talk or I'm too hazy to understand.

"No man! I'm not using this room." Luke chuckles. "Her friend is passed out and we're waiting for her to wake up." The guy gives him a 'I don't believe you, bang her' look before Luke shushes him off. Turning off the lights, the drunk strangers wobble out of the room, leaving both of us in awkward silence again. Does he hook with lot of girls? This is not good! I shouldn't be here.

"I think I should leave." I stutter, getting up from the couch. "Curfew's at nine and we still need to find a ride."

"Uhm okay... Should I give you guys a ride?" He asks, hesitantly.

"No thanks we'll figure it out." I mumble and rush towards Abby. Holding her in my arms, I walk us out of the room, downstairs where the party is. I spot the chubby guy who helped me in the kitchen, with a glass of beer standing alone near the staircase. Due to the voice of Abby's heels clicking, he turns his gaze on us and throws me an adorable smile.

"You need help?" He asks me politely. I like this guy. He's gentle and polite.

"Ya no thanks! We still have to find a ride. Can you get a cab here?" I ask him, steadying Abby on her feet. This girl has made tonight a disaster for me. I'm not going to another party with her ever.

"If you want– I can give you guys a ride. The party's not missing me anyways." He chuckles sadly. Aww!

"That'll be great... Thanks.." I mumble. We carry Abby outside towards his car and make her sit in the backseat while I climb besides him, trying not to make it look like he's our driver.

It was a horrible night. But at least I met a cute and charming guy... Luke Winters.... What am I gonna do with you?

My suggestion to Dallas's question: run bitch run. Run far away from him as much you can. Also, Abby did kinda ruin the night for her. But she met Luke Winters. What will happen? Stay tuned... I love you xoxoxo!
