Back to the Castle
A few more days went by with Fable playing and practicing her dreamwalking. With Blue and Stretch, Dream seemed to recharge within the week. And when the week was over... "Horror-? What Are You adoing Here-?" Blue had been heading to Waterfall to train with Alphys, but then there was a flash of red, and Horror was there. "boss wants his siblings back. i'm here to pick them up." Horror replied simply. "Wait... Siblings? As In Dream Too? I Thought He Hated Dream." Horror shrugged. "he says fable needs him to keep her internal balance or something. guardian stuff, i guess." The big guy shrugged and started through the fog to the Swap house to collect. Fable was excited to see horror again, eagerly jumping on him in a hug when he opened the door and walked in like he owned the place. "rory!!! hi!" She smiled innocently, and he felt his soul melt and bend to her auras will. "yeah, kiddo. i'm here to take you back home to your big bro..." He looked up at Dream, who seemed hesitant, but it wasn't like Nightmare had hurt her. He genuinely seemed to care for her. He couldn't let her go alone.

Fable was led straight to Nightmare's office, where Horror let her do a super secret knock that only he would know (everyone knew it). There was a chuckle from the other side. "come in, fable." Still, everyone went with it, and Horror got the door for the little Guardian. Of course, Dream was with them, but he was more or less ignored as the 'enemy'. "how was your break, dear sister?" Nightmare asked. "did dream and his friends keep you busy?" Fable easily ran around the desk, and Nightmare was pulling her into his lap in no time. "i learned to dreamwalk!" Nightmare raised a brow and looked at his brother. "oh? did you now?" Dream was quick to explain why. "she was already doing it on her own. i was simply teaching her to control it so her soul won't get damaged in someone else's dream or she wouldn't get stuck because she didn't know how to leave the dreamscape." Nightmare gave an approving nod, seeming to be satisfied with Dream's answer. "it is very good to know. dreamwalking is vital to our balance, young one. someday, you will know how to spread your aura across the multiverse as we do, but this is a good start." Nightmare explained to her.

Dream took Fable to the room, where they found it had upgraded. It was brighter than before, with more toys for Fable and plushies lining the bottom of the bed for her. Even the bathroom had bath toys for her to play with when the time came for her to get clean again. It honestly stunned Dream that Nightmare would go this far for her. He truly cared about her, he knew it and had known it, but it was still something he had to get used to. Whether it was because he actually loved her as a sister, or because they both knew she was the true Guardian of Emotions, the one that would take their mother's place, he didn't know yet. He didn't know what it meant either, once she was all grown and taught everything they knew. Once she was ready to take her role... he didn't know what would happen to himself and Nightmare. They wouldn't really be needed anymore. He supposed, that was more or less up to her. He wondered what his brother's thoughts were, teaching her how to defend herself and learn important skills.
