The Prophecy

After our fun we carried on. Same as before. Him in the front, us in the middle and the warriors at the back. Elias was still floating beside us. While the jerk was walking I cocked my head and tried to get inside of his mind. My eyes glowed red and I gently prodded at his thoughts.

"I am going to say this once and only once. Stay. out. of. my. head."  he telepathically communicated to me.

I was dumbfounded to say the least. He should not  have been able to know I was in his head. The red rings around my eyes faded as I pulled myself out of his head.

"But I can get into yours."  he communicated to me.

I had gotten such a scare at someone else being in my head apart form Ivy, that I dropped Elias. He just about hit the ground, but I put a shield under him and gently lowered him.

"Mom, are you okay?" Evelyn questioned.

"How did you know?" I swallowed looking at him.

He stopped walking and turned around. "I am all powerful. A tyrant. I could snap Thanos' neck with a snap of my fingers. I could take over the universe in a day if I wanted to. Of course I know when someone's in my head." he said exasperated, like I should know this.

My eyes dimmed back to their normal blue and I looked at him, masking my fear. He looked mildly impressed.

"Let's keep going." We carried on walking for another few minutes before stopping at a clearing. My kids and I stopped short and looked in awe at what was in front of us.

There was a big white mountain. In front of that was a portal. A ginormous portal. It seemed to have electricity running through it. It was situated on rocky parts of a mountain. Jerk snapped his fingers and suddenly we were standing in front of the portal. I stumbled a little and shook my head trying to rid myself of the dizziness I felt and nausea. Evelyn wasn't so lucky. She blew chunks instantly. I rushed over to her and pulled back her hair, rubbing her back. When she was done I conjured a water bottle and a cold flannel. I wiped her mouth with the flannel and handed her the water bottle.

"You ok?" I grimaced.

She just nodded and dizzily sat on a nearby rock.

"What was that?" Jerk asked looking disgusted at the puke on the ground.

"Puke? Do you not know what puke is?" I told him.

He shook his head. "Puking or vomiting, is the involuntary, forceful expulsion of the contents of one's stomach through the mouth and sometimes the nose. Vomiting can be caused by many conditions; it may be present as a specific response to ailments like gastritis or poisoning."

He slowly nodded. "And how do you cure it?" he asked.

"The feeling that a person gets when they are about to vomit is called nausea; it often precedes, but does not always lead to vomiting. Antiemetics are sometimes necessary to suppress nausea and vomiting. In severe cases, where dehydration develops, intravenous fluid may be required. Usually it can't be helped. If you puke, you puke. The best thing you can do is drink lots of water and sometimes soda's to settle your stomach along with some apples."

He blinked at me and turned away fiddling with some buttons on a control panel fused into the rock. The portal flashed blue for a second and the warriors walked through it, followed by the jerk. I gestured to the boys to go through.

"Go. We'll be right behind you."

They looked reluctant but listened and walked through the portal leaving me with Evelyn and Elias. I put Evelyn's left arm around my shoulder and my right arm around her waist. I used my powers to make Elias float beside us and took him through the portal, Evelyn and I following. What was on the other side took my breath away. In front of us was floating rocks. Huge floating rocks. Each was connected by multiple vines. What looked like blue monkeys were swinging from them. But something told me that they were not monkeys. They were much bigger than monkeys. Below the floating rocks was a lake. It was glowing with bioluminescence. So was the forest surrounding it.

"Welcome to Aqua Pura. Would you like to see it up close?" the Jerk asked.

We just nodded, still in awe of our glowing surroundings. He snapped his fingers and suddenly we were at the lake. I reached my hand down and dipped my hand in the water. It was warm. Comfortable. There was rippling in the water. I retracted my hand and watched. There was a sudden hand clamping down on my shoulder and I was pulled back from the water. I looked up and saw the Jerk eyeing the water with malice. A head suddenly popped up from the water and scanned the group. Her eyes landed on me. She was hypnotising. No, not in that way. I like guys. Something about her though; drew me in. It was like I was under a spell.

I had this overwhelming urge to go into the water with her. No doubt about that. I wrenched the hand off of me and as I ran to the lake and dove in my clothes shifted to a black bikini with a skirt bottom.

I heard muffled sounds above me but I paid no mind to it. I felt a hand grab mine and pull me to the depths of the lake. I felt my eyes and body start to adjust to the cold and darkness. We swam past glowing fish and reefs. Which was odd, because lake's didn't usually have reefs. Then again, I was on an alien planet. Finally we stopped. I still felt this urge to stay down here. We seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. It was dark. I spun around looking for the mermaid who had brought me here, but saw nothing. Just an endless void of nothingness. Until there wasn't. A blue glow lit up some of the area I was in. I turned around and saw another mermaid. Except, this one seemed to be important. She gently swum next to me, her movements barely creating ripples in the water, and she swam around me, sizing me up. She had snow white hair and a crown made of shells. Her eyes glowed blue and her skin was creamy. Fins ran up each arm and she donned a strapless glowing corset thingy. That's the best way I can describe it. Her tails scales were blue and her tail fanned out. Bits of what looked like fabric floated in the water, attached to the back of her corset and tail.

She stopped in front of me and started to speak softly. "Who are you, child?"

"Genesis." I said simply. I didn't really have a definitive last name. So I just said my first one.

"Genesis..." she said, testing the name on her tongue. Her eyes suddenly lit up with recognition. "The prophecy..." she whispered to herself.

"The prophecy? What prophecy?" I asked. She looked a little bit taken aback before she started to explain.

*Flashback*

(6,000 years ago)

For once it was a bright and warm, sunny day. The sun shone brilliantly in the clear blue sky, bathing the alien planet in warmth and security. It would appear that the King was in a reasonably good mood today. Goodness help the person who ruined it. Today the clan leaders were to gather. They had been summoned by the Vates. (Latin for 'seer') Apparently she had some very interesting news to share. At the table in the meeting room was:

Atrea of the Fire clan. Her and her newborn baby girl left their warm volcanic part of the planet to attend. She had the ability to manipulate volcanoes. Including the gasses they emit and lava, and so on so forth.

Delta of the nature clan. Her and her clan were situated on the West side of the planet and controlled nature.

Lux of the Water clan. He and his crew ruled the seas. Lux had the power to control water and ice.

Octavia of the fliers. Unlike Lux, she and her clan ruled the skies. Her clan and the dragons that they lived with worked in harmony. Octavia had the ability to manipulate and create fire.

Kendrix of the Mountain clan. He and his clan lived in the mountains and were all very strong and buff. He had the power of geokinesis.

Ajax. Leader of the Thieves. Like Robin Hood, they stole from the rich and gave to the poor. Ajax had the ability to blend in anywhere.

Aiden. Leader of the animals. Like the fliers, they lived in harmony with animals. Aiden had the ability to talk to animals.

Queen Aro. She ruled the animals that lived in the ocean and could talk to them. She ruled over mermaids, sirens, Krakens, Calypso, Scylla and Charybdis. She had been the one to tame these creatures and helped her people live in harmony with them. She was human when she tamed mermaids and sirens, so they gifted her with a tail because she brought them peace. It could be turned back into legs at will. When she got her tail she set out to tame the more fearsome bests and succeeded.

Last of all, Calix. The most powerful being that the cosmos had ever seen. More powerful than the deranged titan Thanos. If Calix wanted to he could snap Thanos' neck like a twig with the flick of a wrist. He had every power imaginable and more. He was a gifted fighter and a natural born leader. He was ruthless and could take over the universe in a day if he wanted to. But, where was the fun in that? No, he preferred to take it over one planet at a time. After all, until he met someone called his beloved, he would never age. None of them will, until they meet their beloved. So far, none of them had. So, if Calix were to take over the universe in a day what would he do until he met his beloved? Twiddle his thumbs? After 11 million years he had given up hope of meeting her. He turned savage. More beast than man. Then, a meeting with the planets Vates had been called. She wore a black dress with lace and had soft white skin. Sharp cheekbones and full lips, with horns on her head donned her face. Attached to her back was two black, feathered wings with clawed tips. In her hand was a scepter.

The doors to the meeting room flew open without being touched, interrupting the conversations between the clan leaders and the Vates.

Calix.

He was wearing blue jeans and a white dress shirt. Rings were on three of his fingers and a metal bracelet. That bracelet had the ability to suppress his beasts. It barely worked, but he managed to get a decent night's rest because of it.

His piercing blue eyes scanned over the people in his castle and stopped on Queen Aro. She walked up to him and gave him a kiss on each cheek. She was the only one not afraid of him. Everyone else cowered back in fear and prayed that today be not the day they die. "How are you, my friend?" she asked him. "Well. And you?" he replied, kissing her on the head like a brother would his sister. "I am good. Having some problems with the sirens again, but nothing major." He nodded and took his seat on the table. He looked at the Vates. "Why are we here?" "Last night, I had a vision... Of a girl." Calix's eyes crinkled in confusion and he gestured for her to carry on with her prophecy. Vates' eyes changed to a green colour and she raised her hands, trying to see the vision again.

"She will be the best of us and the worst of us. She will be powerful. More powerful than all of us. Like the moon she will have a side of her so dark, that even the stars, couldn't shine on it; she will have a side of her so cold that even the sun couldn't burn on it. She has licked the fire and danced in the ashes of every bridge she ever burned. She will fear no hell from him." she said looking directly at Calix. For once, the great tyrant and King looked completely and utterly afraid. Afraid of this mystery woman, who wouldn't be alive for another 6,000 years.

"She will find the colors to paint him where the world had left him grey. She won't be another flower, picked for her beauty and left to die. No, she will be wild, difficult to find and impossible to forget. While everyone will fall in love with her smile she waits for one who will fall in love with her scars. He will say to her 'Your scars are not your shame, they are your story and I love stories." Calix got up from his seat and walked over to a cart that was filled with glasses and weird looking drinks. He poured himself a bronze drink and swallowed it in one gulp. "What else?" he asked.

"She will say to him 'I will not have you without the darkness that hides within you. I will not let you have me without the madness that makes me. If our demons cannot dance, neither can we.' He will be her dark fairytale and she will be his twisted fantasy. And together, they will make magic."  Vates lowered her hands and stared at the people in the room. Her eyes glowed and she was in pain. She had never had a vision as...long and scary as that one.

They all looked too shocked to say anything. Calix looked like he might puke. "I have a beloved?" he whispered.

"Yes. You do."

"What will be her name?"

"Her name will be Genesis. And you will fall to your knees only for her. She will be your downfall." said Vates. The glass in his hand shattered. "Get. out." he seethed. All of the clan leaders chairs scraped against the freshly cleaned floors as they scuffled out of the room and back to their homes. Vates hung behind though. She walked up behind him and gently laid a hand on his shoulder. "You're a man looking at the world through a keyhole. You've spent your whole life trying to widen that keyhole. To see more. To know more. And now, on hearing that it can be widened, in ways you can't imagine, you reject the possibility. Why?" He was silent for a moment. "Hell sent us the most evil disease and we call it 'love'." he spat. She smiled, amused. "Everything is possible. Even the impossible." With that she squeezed his shoulder and left. Never to be seen again for the next 6,000 years. From that day onwards Calix had a new law. Women were to be insubordinate. They were to be seen and not heard. Not leaders, but 'housewives' per say. Women were only useful to provide pleasure and children and to clean the houses. After all, Calix could not have anyone ruining him or his reputation. He would never fall to his knees for the weaker species.
