8 - Fear

Naruto and Jashin had formed a contract. Jashin was allowed to roam around the village as Naruto's clone in a henge of himself at the cost of having to to replace Naruto on missions once in a while and help him with the stupid chores assigned to him and his team.

Jashin continued to spread his own name by spreading his share of kindness to the villagers. He was forced to wear clothes more 'normal' and 'modern' by Naruto, as hypocritical as it is if you think about Naruto's terrible orange jumpsuit. Not that Jashin minded, he's very happy with everyone's kind suggestions and had no problem with Naruto's sense of fashion. He had no knowledge of what people liked nowadays, and Naruto was his guide in this new era of shinobi. (Not the best one, but Jashin doesn't know that.)

The villagers are considerably weirded out by his ideas of slavery that he openly shared with many, but who were they to care when he spoke so kindly, politely, and was always there to help them with anything? He quickly gained popularity amongst the older generations whom he helps without asking for any form of payment. (While unknowingly taking missions away from genins)

Jashin enjoyed his time with the civilians of this village, very much so, but they seemed to loathe Naruto in a way he didn't understand. The boy was very funny and was a great companion who gives very nice motivational speeches. He could command Naruto boy to talk people into joining his soon to be formed cult, if Naruto could. Though, Jashin had lots of confidence in the boy that he can make people sway his way with just a few words.

After a week of becoming friends with the people of the village, Jashin decided that he should already be starting his plan of sacrificing a graveyard of corpses to start forming his physical body. To do that, he had a few things to prepare.

One, a place for his body to form. It couldn't just lie down in the middle of the street, can it? Jashin thought about it for a few moments. It could be possible actually, maybe people would see how great of a god he is and begin to declare themselves as his followers. He shrugged that thought off his shoulders. A physical body was considerably easy to form, he just needed one human soul or two. The hard part was gathering sacrifices enough to fully restore his own soul. Too weak, and the body might rot the moment he enters it.

And that's when the second part comes in- the blood needed for the ritual. From what he remembers in his past memories, the rituals only worked when the symbol on his forehead was drawn with human blood. Only then, could he sacrifice souls to himself. Where does he get that blood? He couldn't figure it out. Hospitals? Probably not enough for a graveyard. It'd also take days and that would be trouble, considering the fact that the blood can't be dried up when the ritual is being performed. Corpses don't give enough blood, it's already all dried up too.

Third, the graveyard. That one would be pretty easy, since he already knew where the Konoha Cemetery was from the villagers that he asked. From what he knew, both shinobi and civilians alike are buried there, much to his satisfaction. That meant he didn't have to find corpses of shinobi laid out on abandoned battle scenes himself. Though, it would be really helpful if he could find a high ranked one.

A satisfied smirk rested on his face as he began to plot out his plan for he, great Jashin-sama's resurrection. Naruto should be alright with him forming his body in the boy's apartment, so that leaves the first point settled. For blood.....Do shadow clones bleed?

'Let's test that out,' Jashin thought to himself as he pulled out a kunai from a pouch. He was pretty sure no one was nearby, so it should be fine. No one will think he's trying to kill himself. With that in mind, he plunged the kunai into his arm.

Or at least, he tried to.

Before the kunai could come in contact with his skin, he disappeared in a burst of smoke and felt himself returning into Naruto boy's body. Kurama lied before him, a single eye open to stare at the self proclaimed god who sat in the sewer waters, surprised.

"For one thing, I don't think it will ever be possible for me to become accustomed to dispelling out of nowhere, haha!" Jashin laughed heartily. Kurama chose to grunt as a response to Jashin's sudden appearance before closing his eyes again. "Well, I am sure I won't be trapped in here for too long. Either way, what do you need me for, Naruto boy?"

Naruto stood in front of the gates of Konoha, excited that he received his first C-rank mission. It was just a simple task of guarding a stupid drunk old bridgebuilder on his journey to some random country, but he still got to leave the village, nonetheless. Of course he'd be excited.

"Guess what, Jashin!! We get to go out of the village! Mission! A C-rank mission!!' Naruto cheered within his mind as Jashin's face lit up.

"That is amazing, Naruto boy! I have no idea what that is, but if you're happy, so am I!" Jashin clapped along merrily. Maybe this 'See-rang-something-sion' would benefit both of them, and he was ready to take any steps that would lead him to continuing his mission of enslaving the world. Meanwhile, Kurama merely snorted at the idiocy of the two other ones within the same body.

"Alright then, my cute little genins! Shall we set off?" Kakashi said brightly with his usual eye-smile. Two cute genins nodded in reply, while the other simply grunted. With that, Team 7 set off on their first perfectly normal C-rank mission with a suspiciously nervous bridgebuilder.

When I said perfectly normal, I meant perfectly normal. That is, if you think that having two chunins attack a team of fresh out of the oven genins that were only expecting thugs with no knowledge on shinobi level taijutsu, bukijutsu and can't wield chakra properly.

Naturally, Kurama was not dumb, having lived upon the surface of earth for more that just a century. The self proclaimed god sharing the same home as him who says he had lived for longer than he can remember, of course could see that these two chunins had disguised themselves as a puddle in the middle of the road. Kurama knew it was an obvious attempt to ambush the genins. Jashin, however, had a unique view on things as always.

"Oh my, my! I have never...this is amazing," Jashin held his sleeves up to his mouth, eyes widened and teary in pleasant surprise. "I have never seen such a servant, being so loyal as to offering themselves to be a puddle to be stepped on... Fascinating. Perhaps there are ones out there who still understand the concept of worshipping, after all."

Kurama, once again, snorted for (not even) god knows how many times he has since the self proclaimed god arrived. He was so, so stupid. But his god complex is engraved into his whole existence so much Kurama almost believed it was true.

Kakashi eyed the puddle for a split second and glanced at his team the other. Of course it'd be a great idea to give his genins this horrifying sight of him dying. Ah, it'd also be giving them some training, putting their skills to the test, giving them experience, yada yada...

The genins shrieked as their sensei was torn into pieces by chains in the puddle. Sakura quickly got into position to protect Tazuna, guard up in case anyone dared to attack. Sasuke took on an attacking stance, ready to strike at any moment. This attack wasn't enough to make him break down, not after what he'd experienced. Besides, the genins knew their sensei used a substitution jutsu. Maybe not Naruto, but the rest of them knew. Meanwhile, Kakashi was calmly observing from the sides, watching how his genins would handle this situation.

Well.. he was.

Kurama wasn't at all horrified, but he jumped a bit, at least. Jashin furrowed his brows in concentration. Ah, he gets it. This was just like any other human conflict. They'll fight and come to him crying for help. Usually he'd just wave them off, but this case was different.

The self proclaimed god breathed out calmly as he watched his vessel get struck across the chest, blood spurting out from every open wound over his torso.

The two other genins' eyes widened in horror. Almost in a split second, Naruto disappeared and Kakashi appeared in the middle of the road once again. This was not what he'd seen coming. Alright, calm now. Face it like one of your genins doesn't have a fatal wound at the moment- But he couldn't. An intense wave of guilt, sadness, grieve self hatred and anger were close to taking over his actions. However, those feelings wasn't what was controlling his body right now. And Kurama, for the first time in his whole lifetime, felt an emotion he'd never felt before.

Fear.

Kakashi didn't know where it was coming from either, the chunins were obviously close to pissing their pants, so it wasn't them. So, who? That question was answered as Naruto slowly rose, the wounds on his chest closing up almost immediately as Kyuubi chakra surrounded him.

"Well, how long are you going to wait? I am expecting the most sincere, happy greetings to my presence. Did I really have to say that out loud?" 'Naruto' breathed out. It wasn't a threat, it wasn't an attempt to scare them. "Conflict is a common thing amongst you low lives, but harming Naruto boy is going waaaay over the line."

It was just....him.
