2 - An Odd Team
"...Girl, you are a very pretty little lady."
Sakura was surprised by the sudden and odd compliment from Naruto. She didn't want to admit it, but it did make her blush a little. Naruto had been acting weird today, even thought they just met about a few minutes ago. Sasuke too, had noticed the dead last's weird behaviour. He was rather composed today compared to other days, and he seemed so invested into every little detail. Just a minute ago, they had saw him staring at the wall of model weapons made out of clay by younger academy students, and the amazement was so evident in his eyes that anyone who couldn't see it should be deemed blind.
But he simply shrugged it off. The dead last was probably being cocky that he'd gotten the headband, as if he wasn't the only one who failed the test that day. He wasn't exactly curious about how he got it either, since he'd already came to the conclusion that Iruka-sensei gave it to him out of pity. Besides, why should he be interested in the matters of the dead last in their class? He was number one in his class and the only surviving member of the great Uchiha clan which was slaughtered by....
The thought of that man set him in a rather bad mood as he thought about it. He's a genin now...He's a shinobi now. That means he'll achieve his goal, very soon.
Sakura on the other hand, broke out of her trance as she looked away, pink dusted on her cheeks. "S-Shut up! I don't want a compliment from you.... Quit acting weird!"
'I can't! I must stay loyal to Sasuke-kun! My love for him won't be wavered by just a few words from this useless idiot!'
As they finally reached the rooftop, Sakura was panting and breathing heavily for air, holding onto a pillar nearby for support. Naruto was tired too, but he was too caught up in the beauty of this village. It was truly something he had never seen before, and he wanted to see and know more. Sasuke wasn't affected at all, showing how much he'd been training and working on his stamina. Truly the avenger of the Uchiha clan.
'Hmm, the girl definitely needs more training, that's if they even pass. The Uchiha boy is doing well as expected. The so called dead last...' Kakashi glanced at Naruto who was staring at the same pillars Sakura was holding onto, in awe. 'Hmm. I'm not sure how I feel about him for now. Well, we'll see.'
"Sit down, cute genins. Let's start our little chat," Kakashi smiled as he shut his book close, straightening his back.
From his observation, the blonde boy had came to the conclusion that Naruto is probably a loudmouth, an extremely annoying one at that. From the model weapons he saw on the wall, he assumed that violence is pretty much common around here if those were made by little kids, and hung up onto the wall by teachers. Very fascinating.
"Well, usually I'd get straight to the point, but we're now a team, so let's get to know each other better," Kakashi once again smiled at the children before him. "Can we start with some introductions?"
"But sensei, we already know each other," Sakura commented questioningly. She knows all there is to know about Sasuke- all that he shows, at least. And as for Naruto, he was nothing but the dead last that would probably drag them down in missions.
"I don't know you yet, do I?" Kakashi's words made Sakura blush in embarrassment. Ahh, what a bad first impression. The sensei must think she's stupid now.
'I don't actually know you people, so I'm thankful for this introduction session,' Naruto silently said to himself in his head.
"Well, I guess since I'm the sensei, I'll start first. I'm Kakashi Hatake. I have no intention of telling you my likes and dislikes. As for my dreams....I have a few hobbies," Kakashi finished his introduction at that. Sasuke and Sakura were unamused. Just as Sakura was about to comment, or should I say complain about her new sensei's introduction, Naruto started clapping with an amazed face. Kakashi was surprised, pleasantly or not, he wasn't sure. Was the boy mocking him? He seemed genuine though. Sasuke on the other hand was confused. If this was Naruto's way of mocking his sensei, he'd support him. But there's no telling if he's just genuinely stupid....
"That was an inspiring introduction, Hatake-sensei! I truly am amazed! Perhaps this is why an amazing man like you are assigned to educate children such as us. We must be unworthy of your attention."
'You're the only one here unworthy of any attention,' Sasuke sneered to himself at the dead last's words. 'As for me, I don't care even if he doesn't give me attention. It'd do nothing in stopping me from my goals.'
"Kakashi-sensei is fine," Kakashi let out a little sigh. 'I have weird students, I guess.' "Well, ladies first, so..."
"O-Oh!" Sakura nodded quickly. "I'm Sakura Haruno. Um, my likes...are...." Sakura blushed and stopped mid-sentence, fidgeting with her hands. "My hobbies.....um....my dreams..." Kakashi wasn't sure if he just didn't get enough sleep, but he swore he saw hearts in her eyes. "And...I HATE INO-PIG!!"
The sudden shout startled Naruto, who seemed genuinely concerned for Sakura. He didn't say anything as he sat back to his original position, shooting Sakura a few concerned looks as the girl drowned herself in her daydreams. Kakashi cleared his throat. Hopefully there'll be a normal introduction among them all. "Well....Thank you, Sakura. Now, you."
"Hn," Sasuke responded as Kakashi's gaze landed on him. Just as Kakashi thought that would be his only response, Sasuke continued to speak. "The name's Sasuke Uchiha. There are many things which I hate, and there aren't many things that I like. Also, I have an ambition that I have no intention to leave as a mere dream." At this part, Kakashi gave a little sigh inside his head. Now this is gonna be something to deal with. "I will restore my clan to its glory....and kill a certain man."
Kakashi knew who that man was. Welp, it's not very nice being tasked with the job of babysitting a child with a backstory, is it now? Sakura was practically about to burst into tomato pieces as she fangirled over Sasuke with no intention of hiding her awe. 'Well, can't let her die from high blood pressure,' Kakashi thought to himself as he turned to Naruto. "Your turn."
"Me!" Naruto almost jumped up from excitement as Kakashi sensei signalled for him to start. "Greetings, everyone! I am known as none other than Ja-"
He paused for a second. Wait, this wasn't right. He's not him....right now, He is Naruto. His teammates and sensei stared at him, waiting for him to continue his sentence.
"Well, uhm, you can call me Naruto! I like....." He thought back to everything he had seen today. He had loved everything this village had offered for him to see so far. So, no doubt... "I love this village!" Kakashi smiled to himself. Ah, what a pure child. Sure reminded him of...
"And as for what I hate....hmm... I've never really thought about that before. I loved everything I've seen so far." That surprised Kakashi. He wasn't blind, he wasn't deaf. He knew who this child is. The 'demon' that everyone talks bad about. He'd half expected him to say he hates the people of this village, but.... Well, this is better than that, he thought to himself.
"As for my dreams! I know this one! It's been in my mind for the longest time, I can't wait to share it with all of you guys here! Thank you so much for listening to me and being a part of my journey to this goal!"
Kakashi couldn't but smile at him. Ah, what a pure boy. He's getting attached to his little student already. Meanwhile, Sakura and Sasuke had already known what's coming next. I'll be the Hokage, blah blah blah. They doubted that he could ever achieve that role.
"My dream, no, my goal! I'm going to enslave this entire world!"
