Long Gone and Moved On (chapter 37)

"Dammit!" Alec exclaimed, waking me from my peacful sleep.

"What?" I asked, still tired and wanting to go back to sleep.

"It's 8 o' clock. We need to get ready for school," He sighed, looking out the window of his room, his arms still around me.

"But I don't want to leave," I groaned and fell back onto the matress dramatically.

"Me neither. But won't it be suss if neither of us show up today?" Alec smirked cheekily, raising his eyebrows suggestively.

"Ugh, fine," I replied, rolling unwillingly out of bed.

I walked over to my bag that was sitting on the floor and got out shorts and my light blue sweatshirt.

Alec left the room to get changed, and I quickly dressed in my clothes.

I found the necklace that my mom had given me, and hung it around my neck.

Alec knocked softly on the door and I said it was okay for him to come in.

He was shirtless, with only a pair of dark blue shorts on.

I couldn't do anything but stare at him, and I didn't have enough time to recover myself before he saw me.

He smirked at my expression and I hit him on the arm.

"Don't worry. I don't mind if you stare," Alec winked, while getting a white t-shirt out of his closet and pulling it over his head.

Mmm.. That was nearly better than him shirtless...

I caught myself staring again, wanting to kiss that stupid smirk of his face.

Wait. I can kiss him. He is my boyfriend and I can kiss him!

So that is exactly what I did.

I walked over to him, wrapped my arms around his neck and planted a soft kiss on his lips. I felt the smirk be replaced my a smile and I pulled back.

"Hey! I wasn't done kissing you!" He whined, still holding me around the waist.

Now it was my turn to smirk.

"Too bad. You're just going to have to wait!" I winked at him, and he pouted.

Dayum... That face is so damn kissable...

No Tamsin! You are proving a point.

"Oh I can see you are dying to kiss me again. It will only be a matter of time," Alec smiled proudly, and I rolled my eyes.

"I never said I wasn't. I'm just proving a point!" I stated, releasing myself from his grip to get my bag.

"Come on! We're going to be late!" I exclaimed, walking out of his room and to the stairs.

It was only twenty past eight, but I wanted to get to school.

I heard Alec close his bedroom door and follow me down the stairs.

I walked into the kitchen and dropped my bag beside the entry.

"Good morning, Tam," Jack greeted, and I was surprised to see him.

"Hey Jack! I thought you were at a friend's house?" I questioned him, sitting on the opposite side of the counter.

"I was, but he was sick so Ally came and picked me up," he explained, then greeted his brother who was walking into the kitchen.

"Hey kid," Alec responded, ruffling Jack's hair.

"I am only 21 months younger than you! I am not a kid!" Jack defended himself, fixing his hair.

"I know," Alec smiled, then faced me. "Come on! We're going to be late!" Alec teased me, and I laughed at him.

"Yes we are!" I played along. "Let's go!"

We walked out of the kitchen and to the front door, picking our bags up on the way.

"How do you think everyone will take it?" Alec asked, still smiling.

"For some reason I don't think they will be surprised..." I trailed, and laughed with Alec.

Alec agreed and we stayed in a comfortable silence on the way to school.

When we were almost at school, Alec groaned, and I looked up at him questioningly.

"My brain will not shut up," he explained, pulling into the school parking lot.

"And what is your brain saying?" I asked, a smirk threatening the edge of my lips.

Alec's face went bright red and he looked away, not wanting to answer. He shook his head, no, as if we wasn't going to tell me.

He parked the car and got out, me following his lead.

"Oh come on! You know you want to!" I told him, and he shook his head again.

"Please?" I asked sweetly, standing on my tiptoes so that my face was close to his.

"Taaam," he groaned, trying to look away from my face, but failing.

"Please?" I asked again, pecking him lightly on the cheek.

His facial expression changed, and I knew I had won.

"This is no fair!" Alec huffed, looking into my eyes.

"Fine! My brain was telling me that you are too good for me and that I don't deserve you. Then I actually realized that you are my girlfriend and I am your boyfriend and we are actually together and then my brain went back to the initial thoughts. It's like I'm arguing with myself," Alec rushed, and I understood most of what he said; I was still a little confused though.

"How do you figure that I'm too good for you? Isn't it kind of the other way around?" I asked, and he looked down at me with shock covering his face.

"Because you are smart and beautiful and freaking hilarious and just... You are just perfect. And I'm me. I'm just.. Me," Alec mumbled, and I shook my head in disbelief.

"Yes. You are you, and you are just.. wow. And I am me. And I am yours and you are mine," I explained, taking his hand in mine and began walking toward the school building together.

A huge smile spread across his face, and I found it hard to catch my breath.

"Alec! Stop. Dimples. Can't breathe," I said, and he smiled lovingly at me.

"I love having that effect on you..." He whispered in my ear, and I shook my head.

"Well I don't so stop it!" I groaned playfully, and he kept smiling.

"Well someone had a good night," Mason stated suggestively, his voice coming from behind us.

I turned to look at him, a wide smirk covering his face.

"Yeah. I did actually," Alec responded, playing along with Mason's game.

"And why is that?" Mase asked, fakely curious.

"Because Tamsin is my girlfriend," Alec stated proudly, and my heart started beating faster.

"Hmm. I don't believe you," He responded, and I raised my eyebrows at him.

What was he trying to do???

He raised his eyebrows back which made me confused.

"It's not going to work, Mase," Alec smirked and Mase scoffed.

"Bullshit it's not going to work!" He responded, walking with us into school.

"It's not!" Alec fought back, and I was completely lost.

"Don't worry. He's just being an idiot," Alec explained, seeing the confused expression on my face.

"Okay..." I trailed, then grabbed Alec's arm to look at his watch.

"I have to go to class. I'll see you later!" I left the two boys to their argument and walked toward my locker.

As much as I wanted to kiss Alec, I didn't want to become one of those couples who showed PDA every few minutes.

There was one couple at our school that did, and it made me want to vomit.

It was disgusting.

I walked to my locker with a smile on my face, got my books and headed toward my classroom.

The first few classes went by slowly and soon enough, there was only one more class until lunch.

There was no one else in the classrom when I got there, so I took a seat near the back, waiting for Bronte, Hunter and Dahlia to enter the classroom.

A few minutes later, the three of them walked into class together; Dahlia and Bronte talking loud and Hunter staying relatively quiet, as always.

"Hey guys," I greeted them, and Hunter smirked at me knowingly.

I raised my eyebrows as if to say 'you know?' and he nodded his head slightly.

"Hey Tam! How was the beach last night?" Bronte asked casually, and I could tell that she didn't know.

Hunter let a short laugh escape his lips and I silently told him to shut up.

I could have fun with this...

Hunter obviously understood my plan, and nodded in agreement.

"It was good," I responded casually, hoping I didn't give anything away by my facial expressions.

"That's good. I wish I went to the beach last night! It was so hot!" Dahlia replied, and I smirked a little.

They had no idea.

The rest of the class was fairly boring, and the teacher put on a movie about something that I didn't really understand.

I just wanted it to be lunch.

When class was over, Bronte and Dahlia walked in front of Hunter and I. We were laughing at their oblivious-ness when we walked out of the classroom.

My eyes fell on Alec, who was standing a little way down the hall.

As soon as he saw me a smile lit his face, and Dahlia and Bronte smirked at me.

"Go on! Go see your boyfriend!" They teased, not knowing what they said was exactly what I was going to do.

"I will," I replied, leaving them to walk over to Alec.

He was already walking towards me, so we met halfway.

The first thing he did was peck me lightly on the cheek. The second thing he did was take my hand and walk back to where Dahlia and Bronte were staring at us, completely dumbstruck.

"I don't want to be like the couple that take any chance to make out. It's gross," Alec whispered, saying basically what I had thought this morning.

I nodded my head in agreement and faced Bronte and Dahlia, who were looking from me, to Alec, to our entertwined hands, and back to me.

"Yes?" I asked expectantly, and Hunter burst laughing.

"You two are dating? Like, for real?" Dahlia asked, her mouth gaping open.

"Took you long enough to figure that one out!" Hunter exclaimed through the laughter. Alec and I started laughing too.

"You knew?" Bronte asked him, her eyes narrowing.

Hunter gulped and was visibly worried; I didn't blame him.

"Ya..." Hunter trailed, backing away from her glare.

"Are we the last ones you guys told?!?" Dahlia exclaimed, looking towards Alec and I.

"Technically we didn't tell anyone. They all figured it out," Alec explained, then turned to face Taylor who had just joined the group.

"Ya.. It wasn't hard. I have never seen either of them smile so much, so I kind of just figured it out. Aren't you two supposed to be Tam's best friends?" Taylor added, and I raised my eyebrows.

Was he trying to be killed?

Lucky for him, Bronte and Dahlia just rolled their eyes and continued towards the cafeteria.

As soon as we walked into the cafeteria, all the boys from our table started to clap and cheer really loudly, making everyone in the room turn to face them.

I blushed, and I looked to Alec who was also going red.

"Guys, shut up," I requested as I sat down at the table, not looking forward to the next conversation.

"Hmm... No!" Zander replied, making everyone laugh.

The rest of lunch consisted of a lot of jokes, and a lot of blushing on my part.

The last few classes went by in a blur.

"Do you want to come over?" I asked Alec, as he was getting his books out of his locker.

"Always!" He responded, closing his locker and walking toward the car park.

We got in his car and went to my house.

I was dreading the conversation that was going to come when we stepped inside the house.

"Ready?" He asked me, and I took a deep breath and nodded.

"I really love you, you know," Alec stated, as if he was pointing out the obvious.

"I'm never going to get tired of hearing that," I sighed contently and walked toward my front door, mentally preparing myself to tell my grandparents.

"Do I look okay?" I asked mockingly, and Alec laughed and responded...

"You look perfect."
