"We should probably go..." I trailed, looking up into his beautiful hazel-green eyes.

"But I don't want to!" Alec whined, and I laughed at him.

"You're too cute. But ya, we have to!" I responded, getting off the beach and out of Alec's arms.

Damn it!

"Do you want to stay over tonight?" Alec asked. A smile hadn't left his face since I told him I loved him.

"I'd love to! I just need to go home to ask Gran," I replied, walking back to the car with Alec's hand in my own.

"You don't need to, I already have!" Alec smirked, and I looked up at him questioningly.

"I texted Liam this morning saying that you would probably be staying over tonight. So your Gran packed you a bag and Liam gave it to me this morning before school," he explained, getting into the driver's seat.

"Sneaky," I nodded my head approvingly and pulled my dress over my head.

"What's your favourite colour?" He asked, and I was surprised by this sudden outburst.

"It's blue, why?" I asked curiously.

"I was just wondering. I thought it was, you always wear blue. It looks good on you," he explained, and my cheeks went red.

"Aleeec," I groaned, and he smirked.

"Awh that's so cute! You are going so red!" Alec smirked, pinching my cheek with the hand that wasn't on the steering wheel.

"Alec, stop!" I groaned again, my cheeks going even more red.

"No! I love seeing you blush!" He responded, and I shook my head in dissaproval.

"Ugh, you are so annoying!" I huffed, sinking deeper into my chair.

"Oh you love me," Alec bragged, with the biggest smile I had ever seen spreading across his face.

"I should never have told you," I sighed sarcastically, and he laughed.

"How long have you loved me for?" He asked, serious now.

"I don't know... After we got the assignment?" I guessed, and he smiled at that fact.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Alec groaned, running his hand through his damp hair, making it look very disheveled.

"Because I thought you loved someone else!" I exclaimed, and then something hit me.

"How long have you loved me for?" I asked hesitantly, and he smiled, dimples very visible which made it hard to breathe.

"Are you okay?" He asked, obviously noticing my difficulty breathing.

"Stop smiling and I will be," I muttered, not expecting him to hear me.

"Sure," he responded and I gasped.

"You heard that?" I asked, incredulous.

"Of course I did!" Alec exclaimed, and I shook my head at him.

"Avoiding the question are we?" It was my turn to smirk now.

"No. Maybe. Yes. I don't want to answer!" He whined and I shook my head at him again.

I am not taking no for an answer!

"Please?" I asked, using my puppy-dog eyes.

"Tam, stop using that face!" He pleaded, but I didn't stop.

"Ugh, fine," he groaned, and I smiled.

"Do you remember the first day you came here? You walked into that English classroom like you owned the place. You introduced yourself with that insanely attractive accent of yours, wearing your Coldplay t-shirt and your ripped jeans. That was 2 years, 5 months and a bit ago. You got everyone's attention walking into that classroom, and you didn't even notice. I immediately knew you would be someone I would like to get to know. The first thing you ever said to me was 'your eyes are freaking amazing. You know that, right?' I laughed and I loved how you were so blunt. You were so forward about everything. I remember looking for you in the hallways without even realizing what I was doing. By the end of that day, you had said about thirty words to me, but it was enough. I knew I loved you, and I have loved you ever since." Alec explained, and my eyes began tearing up at the thought. He smiled at the memory and I flushed a deep red. That was such an embarassing day for me.

Alec had loved me all this time and I didn't even notice.

I couldn't find the words to respond, but I think my eyes showed enough emotion that I didn't need any words.

When I had the ability to talk, I had to mock him.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I mimicked his voice exaclty, and he rolled his eyes.

"Because you have and always will be too good for me," he mumbled seriously, and my jaw just about dropped to the floor.

"You have got to be kidding me. You definetly don't see yourself clearly..." I responded, still in shock.

"Neither do you," he smirked, as he pulled the car over in front of his house.

Shit! We're at his house already. Wow. That went fast.

"I do too!" I argued, but he shook his head, clearly disagreeing.

"Nah!" Alec fought back, smiling as we walked slowly to the front door.

"Yeah!"

"Nah!"

"Yeah!"

"Nah!"

"Yeah!"

"Nah!"

"You're not winning this!"

"I am!"

"Nah!"

"Yeah!"

"Never!" I stated, as Alec opened the door.

"Will you guys stop already? I bet you don't even know what you're arguing about anymore!" Ally interrupted, smirking at us as she came over to hug me, then Alec.

"We do too!" Alec disagreed, but I couldn't actually remember.

"You might, but I have no freaking clue anymore!" I exclaimed, and everyone laughed.

"You're staying over, right?" Ally asked, and I nodded my head, smiling.

"Yup," I answered popping the 'p'.

"Cool! Come on, everyone is outside and we're about to start eating dinner. We were just waiting for you two to get here!" Ally explained, and we followed her outside.

"Hey guys!" Everyone greeted as we walked out the back door and took our seats at the table. The table was set with toasted sandwiches and I laughed.

"Sorry, but I have to keep going with my work! I'll be in the study if anyone needs me! Clean up when you're done," Grace stated, and she shot me an apologetic look.

"Have fun!" We all stated, and it was left to the four of us to eat the sandwiches.

This is my idea of a good dinner!

"Jeez, you actually look happy Alec. Something interesting happen?" Sam teased, and Alec laughed at him, but didn't deny it.

Wait. Are we dating now? What's happening? I'm so confused!

Alec must have seen the confusion on my face, and he smirked at me.

"We'll talk about it later," he mouthed, and I nodded my head slightly.

"How was everyone's days?" Ally asked, as she picked a toasted sandwich off the tray in the centre.

"Good," Alec and I said at the same time. We looked at each other and burst laughing.

"Of course you guys are!" Sam smirked mischieviously, and I nearly choked on my food.

Alec shook his head the tiniest bit and Sam held both his hands up as if he was innocent.

"If you don't want me to make comments then don't tell me stuff, brother!" Sam stated dramatically, punching Alec on the arm.

"Hey Sam?" I asked, and he looked towards me expectantly. "Shut up," I finished, earning a laugh from everyone at the table.

"Where's Jack?" Alec asked, and I smiled.

I was about to ask exactly the same question!

"He's at a friends house. Again. I swear the kid never even comes home!" Sam stated, mockingly dissapointed.

"Neither does Alec!" Ally jabbed, smirking at Alec.

"Yes he does. He just brings his friends here!" Grace defended her middle son, poking her head back out the door before she left to her study for the night.

"He doesn't bring his friends here. He brings his girlfriend here. His friends barely ever come over! At least I can beat them in pool!" Sam ranted, running his fingers through his hair and looking so much like Alec.

I wonder if that is where Alec got it from...

"Shut up," Alec groaned, covering his face with his hands, almost like he was embarassed.

"Fine! Fine!" He exclaimed out loud, then whispered something in Alec's ear that I don't think I was supposed to hear. "But you didn't deny it and neither did she."

Hmm. He has a point.

"Oh my god! Sam said something smart for once!" I congratulated him, leaning across Alec to ruffle his hair.

"You heard that? Is there anything you don't miss?" Sam asked, incredulous, and I shook my head, no.

"Just because she is observant and you're not!" Ally bragged, defending me. I shot her an appreciative look and Sam smirked, obviously he had thought of a comeback.

"Well you're clearly not observant, are you Al?" He asked Ally, and we were all confused.

"What?" Ally asked, dumbstruck.

"You. Are. Not. Observant. You didn't even notice that Alec and Tam are practically dating right now!" Sam exclaimed, and my cheeks flushed a light pink.

"What?!?" Ally screeched, looking between Alec and I.

"What?" I asked back, definetly confused.

I looked to Alec for support, but he seemed just as confused as me. He also looked a little embarassed, as his cheeks were slightly pink and he avoided eye contact with me.

Awh!

"What?" Sam asked, making everyone laugh.

"So... Are you guys ever going to date?" Ally asked expectantly.

"No NEVER!" Alec answered sarcastically, and I laughed at his dramatics.

"You like each other though, right?" Ally clarified, and I shook my head.

"No. We don't like each other!" I exclaimed, sarcastically horrified by the thought.

There is a lot of sarcasm in this conversation...

"Ugh! You two are impossible!" Sam groaned, and I laughed at his confused expression.

I had never realized how alike Sam and Alec looked until now. They had the exact same facial structure, except Alec's eyes were more interesting.

But I was probably just biased.

I looked over to Alec at the same time he ran his fingers through his hair, making him look extremely hot. Well, even hotter than usual.

Ya.. definetly biased.

We ate the rest of dinner in peaceful silence, enjoying the nice weather and the cool breeze.

"We're going to go to the roof!" Alec exclaimed, practically dragging me away from the table.

"Bye!" Ally and Sam replied at the same time, making me laugh.

We bolted up the stairs and Alec reached the door first, opening it for me like a gentlemen.

He closed the door behind him, and we were very close.

Alec noticed too, and looked me up and down like the first time we were here.

This time he didn't turn away, he just lifted my chin up so that his lips could meet mine.

It was just a quick peck, but it was enough to set my cheeks flaming.

"Damn it, Alec!" I giggled as he climbed through the window, offering his support once he was through.

"Fine. I just won't ever kiss you again!" Alec declared dramatically, holding my hand as we walked slowly toward the end of the roof with the couch and all the pillows.

"No, no, no!" I disagreed, and he laughed at me.

"Damn, you're cute," he sighed, looking down at me in such a way that I knew he meant what he said.

I sat down on the floor, Alec rolling his eyes at my apparent 'strange-ness'. He dropped down beside me and we lay down together, looking up at the twinkling stars in the dimming night sky.

"Today has been a good day," I declared, pulling a pillow from behind me and sliding it under my now-curly hair.

"That's an understatement," Alec whispered, pulling me towards him.

"Ya.." I agreed, and settled into his chest, enjoying his nice smell.

We lay in silence for a while, listening to the wind stir the trees and the birds sing their songs.

"Tam?" Alec asked quietly, sitting up.

It was almost dark, and the moon was the only thing lighting his face.

He looked like a freaking angel, and I thought to myself how that was possible.

How could a person that perfect love me?

How could he want to be friends with me?

How does he even put up with someone as ordinary as me?

"Ya?" I asked, sitting up to face him with confusion spreading across my features.

"Uhm.. I was just wondering.. If.. You would maybe.." Alec stuttered, and I laughed at his face as it turned deep red.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked carefully, with so much emotion in his voice that I knew how much he wanted this to happen.

"Do you even need to ask?" I responded, looking him straight in the eyes while reaching for his hand.

"Ya..." Alec responded, still unsure of himself.

"Yes Alec! I would love to be your girlfriend!" I exclaimed, and planted a soft kiss on his cheek.

Alec sighed contently, laying back down to watch the stars.

"Do you know how long I have been waiting to ask that question?" Alec asked, sounding relieved that we were finally together.

Holy shit! I am dating Alec!!!

Alec Hurley is my boyfriend!

I get to kiss him and hug him whenever I want!!!

Oh my god!!!!!!

It suddenly hit me that Alec was actually mine, and I was so overcome with emotion that tears started welling up in my eyes.

"No. But I do know that I am one hundred percent, positively and completely in love with you," I responded, and that was all Alec needed to pull his lips to mine.

The sparks were still there and I was hoping they would never fade; they felt like fireworks.
